  • When your a daughter of a firefighter a lot goes throw your mind when your dad goes to a fire like is he going to come back to you or is he going to be o.k. My dad is a fire fighter for Company No.4 and I'm proud of him. I herd story's of when dad was about die and my uncle saved him and there both alive.

  • Second Generation, Probationary Firefighter Cold Spring Fire Company No. 1 God Bless my brothers and sisters

  • I am a first generation firefighter. im the black sheep of my family. I just turned 19 and i have seen things i cant even tell my family about. things i pray no other human being will have to see. But I love what i do and dont wish to do anything else

  • @lepards11 I feel you! i'm the first person in my family to become a firefighter - i'm only 15.

and i'm the only military cadet in my family, and will be the first one to go into the military :D

  • i dont feel that firefighters are heros i believe they are angels

  • For ALL of the women that do not or will not understand, you have NO idea what you have done to the men who LOVE YOU. It's bad enough they run the calls & yes come back a shell at times of who they were, then they face the ones they love who cannot understand because they themselves have not been there. It's tragic when the one you love turns their back on you. You have a power you just don't understand.

I LOVE MY FIREFIGHTER. THAT NEVER ENDS

  • Thankfully I met a wonderful woman who I am currently dating that understands my love for this calling. She supports me 110% and that has made every difference in my career and my personal life. A firefighter's spouse is a calling just as much as being a firefighter is a calling. Thank God for the men and woman that support and love their firefighters. God bless all firefighters. Everyone Goes Home.

  • @FreemasonsAreAwesome I AGREE 110%.

  • I see there are three idiots that dislike this video.

  • its amazing the people you love never understand why you risk your life for someone you dont know. the way i always explain it is if that person was in your shoes you hope he or she would come to you in your time of need and pain. my dad is a police officer and almost lost his life in a shooting trying to help some one he did not know. im am a fire fighter and i love helping people i dont know and i also have lost ra really good girl i love and miss.

  • @countyfirefighter09 my cousin lost his girlfriend...but listen to this she went out with him cuz he was a firefighter...but when he went home one night crying because he just saw someone pass away and he almost did on tht same call, she told him she couldnt take the worrying and left him....but then i said to her u'll still worry about him a lot and she said i know but wouldnt try to go out with him again...some ppl dont understand

  • I have been a firefighter since i was 14 and i love the knowing that what i do makes a difference to people and what we have to go through. Most people would not want to face. The most famous thing that i get ask is why did i choose to become a volunteer firefighter. That is a really hard thing to answer but this video has helped me to explain why i became a firefighter

  • for the three who didnt like this..we'll see who comes to put out your fire when youre burning up in hell

  • Ill tell you what. I love being a firefighter and a paramedic. Its all I know. We all love our job, theres no question about it. I dont know how to do anything else. I wouldnt expect it, but if my loved one asked me to stop, I just might. Stop trying to make other people understand what you "go through". You chose the profession, they didnt. Its a lifestyle, I understand, stop trying to make them figure this neurosis out. Love THEM more than firefighting.

  • @Hawgbrew Firefighting is more then a job its a life especially for us volunteers out there and i love it yes fires are tough but the tougher the fire the tougher you become. As i was told when i first joined the dept this more then a group of people we are a brother hood like no other and no other brotherhood stands beside their brothers like we do so if any of you guys need some one to talk to my ears stay open.

  • @reconrider27870 I hear you brother. Your fellow firefighters are family also. I love the guys that I work with with all of my heart. I would do anything for them. I would die for them. My point is to praise the families of firefighters, for they sometimes are hit the hardest in their daily lives. Many do, but many dont understand what we go through, and they may never. It is not their fault. Some of the things we see are even unfathomable to ouselves. Never forget that they love you.

  • @reconrider27870 Im not undermining the fire service by calling it a job. To truly explain how I feel with words could go one of both ways. I could write a novel or simply say " I would die for it". And, to answer the question indirectly for whom; My brothers and sisters would be HIGH on the list. What Im saying is, dont neglect your family outside of the fire service, and remember that they may not always understand what we go through. Do not fault them for this.

  • @reconrider27870 More than anything, this is a shout out to the families of firefighters; men, women and children. They endure much of the same hardships as we do, however in a different way. Im a single guy with not "much" to lose. Ive been doing this a while, but it never gets old see a brother or sister calling home after a fire just to hear their husband, wife, mom, dad, children.....ect. for no other reason than "I love you".

  • i thank all who can wear all that gear and trying to save a lifes!! I am proud of my husband and understand what he goes through and how hard it can be. I have been called once since 03 to go to the ER and my heart dropped an I cried!! Everyone who is a firefighter I thank you all for everything you do!! I understand and know what you all have to go through and I thankful for everything you all do

  • @danjewell2002 & @ joelhois I cant imagin what yous are going throu! I'm so sorry both of you wifes just dont understand how it is and understand what it takes to be a firefighter I support my husband all the way! There a few times he had came home an I could tell sumthin was wrong an when he said he almost didnt make it home I cried so hard an huged him. He went into our daughters room and held her for an hour with tear filled eyes. My heart goes out to all yous! I support you 100%!!!!

  • My boyfriend is a firefighter. I greatly appericate everything he and all the other firefighters do. Just want to say thank you to all the firefighters out there.

  • Thank you for making this video!

  • thank cause im a firefighter

  • Thank you to all the firefighters and EMTs out there. Y'all don't get enough recognition or appreciation for the job y'all do.

  • Thank you all for what you do. I'm going to school for firefighting soon and have been volunteering, I could not be happier with it all. Stay safe everyone.

  • i know how you feel i have only been on the dept since december and i have already seen alot and my g/f of 4 years just doesnt understand it. she stays mad because i spend so much time at the station or training. its rough. but i love it and nothing will stop me from gettin with i want to be

  • great tribute ;)

  • i'm a 3rd generation firefighter doing my duty to this country and to god. faced death twice and i'm only 18

  • Can't be haqppening...He lost a daughter 10 years ago just as tragic .....it cant happen again, can't..It did....that crew worked hard never knowing it was one of our own..I knew i couldn't tell them knowing it would tear them up ! Eventaully there was no hiding it and he four of us now shared a pain that would stick with us a life time. God, help us! we are truely BROKEN over not being able to save our co-workers daughter! WERE BROKEN

  • She was in full arest didnt know it was her until we arrived at house she was staying at! Was met by my co workers wife who was screaming it's S.....ran in home and saw S...,, lifeless, my crew Engineer, and two medic ff worked her , none of them knew .......it was my engineers daughter none of them knew,,,we pushed every drug and defibilated ..asystolee..

  • 23 years i've seen a lot...

Went on my co workers daughter 15 yrs old! He wasn't working but i was OT different shift! His daughter is same age as mine and they been friends all there lives! My co worker is my Engineer , im the Captain! Been friends along time.

  • I have been a Volunteer firefighter for about 3 years and a EMT for about two. I love doing it. I know i am very new at it but recently i had a call that destroyed me. I had made up my mind that i was done. i could not stand it anymore. it was only through the support of my brothers and sisters by my side that i stayed. I am so glad there is so much support and others who know what its like.

  • Been a FIRFIGHTER A long time!.....Recently went on a call that broke me!......I'll never be the same, but it gives me comfort knowing others "my brothers" know what it's like, because others just dont understand!

  • I enjoyed your video very much.

It made me feel that i'm not alone.

Firefighting is my jobm but above all is my passion, because i can't imagine myself unable to do it in a daily bases.

take a look on my videos if you feel like it.

Huggs for all firefighters that really loves their jobs.

  • My girlfriend hates it when i leave to work at the station, i know she worries but i love the job so much, words cant describe what we see on a day to day basis, some good, some horrible.

  • hi, what course did you take in college?

  • my mom does to. but they understand that this is what i want to do with my life cause i think it is my calling in life.

  • My Dad is a volenteer Firefighter. you always worry for them, but you know they woory as well but not for them but for the other trapped in a pilar of smoke. they risk their lves to save others and thats what they were born to do. my dad has been 1 for 30 years and has saved so many lives it makes me cry tears of joy cuz my dad is such a hero :)

god bless every one of em!

  • i am an austrian firefighter we dont get money we do it four free. when i saw this video i must cry i am only 19 years old and 2 years a firefighter but i go to hell and back only too safe lives. I lost my 3 people of my familiy in serbia because of smoke. THANK YOU four the video

GOD BLESS ALL THE FIREMEN THAT GAVE THER LIVES AT 9/11

  • i have beeen a fire fighter for 8 years I am 25 and losing my wife because she doesnt understand what we go through. I have been in alot of bad places and almost did make it out. And death does effect you if you know them or not, you need to talk about it, so it does ruin you like it did me in my marrage. if he/she dont want ot listen email me i will but they may not need to picutre what we see so lets talk to each other so we dont scare them any more than we have 2. stay sade on ur next call

  • @danjewell2002 i kno what mean nobody understands .

  • @danjewell2002 I have to say i have soooo much respect for you. my dad is a fireman and when he tells me of the things he's seen i can't believe he can make himself go on another call. You guys have so much bravery you probably don't even know yourself. To you and every other firemen out there. YOU ARE MY HERO!!!

  • @shadowgod2553 i know what you mean, my father is a firefighter and iv just turned my papers in to become a volunteer...my dad tells me some crazy shit that has happened and heart breaking things...firefighters...crazy sons of bitchs...gotta love me

  • @danjewell2002

A great Movie For You To See Danjewell Is Fireproof, Ive never Been In That Sitution But That Movie May Help You. Im a Volunteer Fireman.

  • @danjewell2002 If you haven't lost her yet, I suggest watching Fireproof. It's a great movie about a Fire Captain and his wife struggling with their marraige, and getting through it :)

  • @danjewell2002 you could also show her the vidoe a firefighters wish...it talks about how much a firefighter wish's people could understand how hard there work is and how it feels

  • @danjewell2002 yea i know how you feel! the same thang happend to me and i havn't been a fire fighter but just over a year. When the tones drop you have to do what you have to do, saving aomeones life is the greatest feeling there is, but we also have to look at the other side of thangs as well and she just don't understand the way thangs are when you run into a burning bulding to save someone, then you get told to quit or the marrage is over, WHATS A MAN SUPPOST TO DO?

  • @danjewell2002 Hey i know just how you feel i lost my wife for the same reason! She just didnt understand how much it means to me. The long nights sometimes haveing to be gone for 4 or 5 days at a time. Ya i know just what ya mean

  • @danjewell2002 Sorry to hear that man, but you're right. Not everyone understands what we go through, the good AND the bad. Stay safe out there brother.

  • @danjewell2002 If you need somebody to talk to, I've got your back, brother... I know what it's like believe me

  • @danjewell2002 im a jouinor fire fighter and my girl friend dosent understand why im risking my life also

  • @danjewell2002 We are all greatful for your service :) Have you tried talking to your wife about how firefighting is an emotional struggle? Just remember that you are not alone, the whole world is behind you, without you the world would be a dangerous, sad place. Please keep yourself safe, I hope everything works out for you :)

  • @danjewell2002 yea seems some spouses dont understand why we do what we do. Mine questions why ido this. I hope he understand stands its jus me doin what I feel I need to! Be safe! BVFD 1331 <3

  • @danjewell2002 As the wife of a firefighter I am greatful for what every firefighter does. I would not ask my husband to give up what he loves just to make me happy. I won't lie it does scare often. But I will never understand how you can basically leave your man in the fire for lack of better words. I hope all works out for you. GOD BLESS you and thank you.

  • @danjewell2002 I know where your coming from. I'm 26 and I was a volunteer fireman for almost 5 years and I have been a full time Fire Engineer/EMT-B for the last 2 1/2 years. The fire dept. is my life. My x wife of almost 5 years could not understand what I do for a living. I work for a small combination dept. so even when I'm not on shift I'm still on call. Between shift work, answering calls off duty, training, etc... We split. It takes a special woman or man to be the spouse of a firefighter

  • @danjewell2002 God bless you brother. I know what you mean to some extent. not to the point of a wife but i have lost many women in my life because they did not understand the demands of our calling. ( i say "calling" because its more than a job). We are a proud select few and we need to stick together

  • @danjewell2002 I am a volunteer firefighter out of Victor, MT. And every time my pager goes off during the night my wife says "I love you" as I am getting dressed and running out the door. She understands that are some calls that are hard on people. I have been on a couple code blacks where the person is DOA. And I have been on a fire where the homeowner almost died. After those types a calls it is hard to go home and get sleep.

  • im a firefighter on my towns dept and have been for about 3 years now. as a kid i would watch the trucks run out to call w theff and now that im one i look back and smile. i smile becasue i know some kid just like me is lookin up the same way i did back in the day. i like many ffs dont ask for much from our communty. all i ask for is a simple wave when u see me becasue then i know im doin something good to help u all my fellow ffs stay safe out there. Firefighter Josh Gale, serena vol fire dept.

  • I feel for all of you and all that put out there, chance the things to lose, from your wife/husband and or your life. I thank you for being there when we need you anytime of the day or night. GOD BLESS YOU ALL Elaine F.

  • Outsanding. I am also a firefighter and a Marine Reservist, all of us are brothers in arms, just different enemy. Get some!

  • Im a volunteer firefighter. 4 volunteer companies are in the process of merging into one big company. This is a job we all love and take great pride in. ever since i was little, i dreamed of it, those dreams came true, now im living them.

  • I love all firefighters....you truly are the bravest. God Bless You guys/gals!!!!

  • @wis7dom I appreciate it! Be safe out there!

  • @wis7dom I greatly appreciate it! Be safe out there! Ellenboro, NC unit 1934 clear

  • Thers so much tradition to it. You see a trash truck person die, theres not much to their funeral, you see a firefighter die, hell theres been thousand attending the funeral, bagpipes. drums, honor guards. theres a lot to firefighting. the red truck stands for valor, the pride in the uniforms.

  • God bless our firefighters and God bless America!

  • I wish more people would become volunteer fire fighters or even paid. If you really think about it, that could be your house on fire, that could be your husband having a heart attack. You would want someone to help. So if your watching this and are not a fire fighter, join a fire dept. You wont regret it.

  • how hard is it to get in the fire separtment in the states? im in nz, currently applying. they get 1200 applicants a year and take anywhere between 3 and 50. bloody hard as u can imagine!

  • it's probably about the same here... near impossible. Depends on your creds though and where you're applying obviously.

  • im currently a volenteer. thank you for posting this.
