  • They should reanct this scene in the remake

  • The last episode with Jack Lord!!!! I'm Italian, and here we are at the third season, today in first vision, it was transmitted the third seasons's last episode!!!

  • is McGarrett Lieutenant Horatio Caine's father?

  • Jack Lord is the Coolest Cop Ever

  • Obviously the jail guards didnt check Wo out good enough.Or perhaps Wo Fat's superiors bribed one of the jail guards( who could have been a Chinese double agent) to put a file in his jail shoes while Mcgarret was unaware.

  • Wo Fat is like the Master fron Dr.Who.Youll never be able to keep him locked up.

  • Book 'em Danno!!

  • Classic.

  • He finally burned you, you motherfucking GOOK!!!!

  • FINALLY. The best cop, bad guy matchup in the history of television. Thanks so much for posting this.

  • Wo Fat has deserved to be caught.

  • @drrckyee and so he was :)

  • the old five-o is better than the new one and why in hawaiaan language?

  • Yep, never get one up on ol' Wo Fat!!

  • Khiegh Diegh was such a marvelous actor that I HATED Wo Fat for many years!

  • Loved this show. It debuted a few years before my time, but I remember watching it as a very small child in the late 70's, and of course, I've watching it in re-runs off-and-on forever. It's safe to say the last few seasons of the show weren't up to par, but what show really is that great in its final years? Are the production values of the original 50 as good as the new one? No, but for it's time, it was more impactful and that's really all that matters. Still, I love the new series, too.

  • Whoa! Phat.

  • "now I have the pleasure of killing you with my bare hands"...then he kicks him. That tricky Wo Fat!

  • Interesting trivia: Khigh Dheigh, who plays Wo Fat, was born in New Jersey!

  • @bmw318racer I thought he was a Brooklynite!

  • @StukInBuf LOL.

  • Those horizontal stripes on Wo Fat's prison outfit make him look...well...FAT!

  • @doglips1958 Bada-bing!

  • 4 people are communists

  • @spiritos22 Wow! There's a argument: Droning on about the same political garbage. You're writing in English, not in French, so spell the word in English. I don't have a self-esteem issue. You do, because you are the one who started it with the comments criticizing Americans, which was off-topic, and no one even brought up before. You label all Americans and make Canadians out to be better, and I pointed out that I know different. My point is that not all Canadians are smart, either. LOL!

  • The capture of a communist!

  • this hawaii five 0 has nothing on the new version

  • little bit corny this scene imao

  • loved first version... prefer remake though

  • With all the reds and blues dancing around, I wonder if that was the 3-d version... now where did I put my 3-d glasses...

  • All that booking he did...would have done well in a travel agent.

No seriously...Five O was cool. Ever heard the song "Aloha Steve and Danno" by Radio Birdman?

  • @wherezmybailout matula.hu/rkal/mp3/radio_birdman_-_aloha_steve_and_danno.mp3

  • You know folks, this is a pretty amazing fact, that Khigh Diegh was actually of

Sudanese and Anglo race, and had no Chinese, whatsoever! so i am greatly

impressed by this late,,but impressively professional actor, who played the

oriental roles very well! he played the interogator in 1962's "THE MANCHURIAN

CANANDATE" before landing the "Wo Fat" role on "HAWAII FIVE-O"-which is

a far cry from the current actor, playing this role,in the remake series,,,OUCH!!

  • They kept it going for too long -- the last 3 or so seasons of the show were pretty bad -- especially after Danny left. Although only a fight between McGarrett and Wo Fat could have been the appropriate ending...

  • Jack Lord was the fucking man.

  • love this!

  • was that really the last episode???????????

  • The end is never really the end....look at Wo Fat's nail file.

  • i think mcgarrett is hot

  • @spiritos22 Man what are you talking about, your talking about something completely out of this subject. Were talking about Hawaii FIVE O here, not whats going on in the world.

  • Dont get me wrong I like the new Hawaii Five O tv show, but they shouldnt of remade it. TV dont know any better today. Imagine in a couple years from now the media comes out with a Happy Days remake, I would fucking lmao because nobody can replace the original fonzi. I dont quite understand why people would turn against the original first heard of show and continue to remake it. Its a waste of time. STOP FUCKING REMAKING TV SHOWS, think of something fresh, oh wait a minute your fucking stuiped

  • why do people say the old five-0 is better?

  • @DArcbeetle Because the tv producers that produce these new shows dont know what else to create. They have to take the old classic shows that were first heard of as a fresh new tv show and remake them over. I would always think when a show is first created they should keep it that way instead of remaking them reover, ha but TV dont know any better. Can you imagine somebody remaking Happy Days, nahh that wouldnt last a week.

  • @coololds85 well its not like they're copying the same plot and episodes, at least they're changing some things. and IMO the old 5-0 handles some things better, the new one does have better action scenes

  • @DArcbeetle yea the older show did have better ways of controlling things

  • @coololds85 They tried that with "All in the Family," making it "704 Hauser Street." Fell flat on its face.

  • @DArcbeetle Because it is

  • @gamehound83 see, this is the kind of answer i WASNT looking for

  • @DArcbeetle It's better because it was original. It was something you enjoyed watching. 5 o today is just another remake. I'm not suprised some people like it. They wouldnt know talent and original idea's because all they see is remake's and watered down act's. Better response?

  • Comment removed

  • @gamehound83 definitely better than "because it is"

i feel that its more of an "attitude" that people have. that older is always better. while that may be true for alot of things (ie. cartoon network, mario games, manga, etc) its important to make sure it doesnt "bias" your judgment. the new five-o really doesnt try to copy the original very much, all it does is use the general "theme". (ran out of "characters remaining")

  • @DArcbeetle its not like a FPS sequel where they change a few minor details and keep the rest the same. everybody has their own opinions on the matter, but what really bugs me is when they don't have an actual REASON for those opinions

  • Wo Fat is one of the best baddies.

  • cbs get WoFat once and for all on your NEW Hawaii Five0 Team, check him out extremely carefully so he can't get away, then will you create a new villain for your new team!

  • @culturepeaceforever2 I was shocked when I saw that the Chairman of 'Iron Chef America' (Mark Damascos) is the new Wo Fat. He was also on Dancing with the Stars a few seasons ago.

  • This is the episode I was waiting to watch for a long time.

  • LOL censorship à-la-youtube

  • @spiritos22 Rolls eyes ... You also need to know what you are talking about, and you don't. So you are still the idiot.

  • Wo Fat you sly Bastard

  • I think Jack Lord is doing pretty darn good considering he was 60 when this was filmed (born in 1920). Great show and happily 10 of the 12 seasons are already out and we should have every episode by this time next year.

  • No he didn't. I would bet that is why they wrapped it up. Their ratings were still high and would have justified continuing but Jack was having troubles and of course James McArthur had moved on. As they say all good things must come to an end.

  • This episode should be out on DVD in the summer when they release the final season (hopefully it will include the 1997 pilot).

Jack Lord didn't look good during the final year of 5-O.

  • At the time this was shot Jack Lord was in early Alzheimer's. The last season he was having trouble remembering lines and even names of other actors. I'm glad he was able to wrap the show up. I grew up with H-50, loved the show and the theme, which is now my cell ring-tone. It say a lot about the type of people Lord and his wife were, leaving 40 million to charity in Hawaii. Perhaps that is his greatest legacy. Rip Jack and Danno!

  • Finally I got to see that, years after hearing about it! Thanks!

  • @spiritos22 Actors were above-average. Music was great. Fight scenes were believable. The shootouts were violent, not children playing.

  • Stunt doubles for the hard stuff, people. The hard stuff is not the stuff for 60 and 70 year olds.

  • I thought McGarret pulled Wo Fat's pants down at 1:31.

  • Wo Fat escaped with that file. But today McGarrett had Danno Book 'em for the final time. R.I.P. Danno...

  • I should look as good as Steve McGarrett, I mean Jack Lord @ 60

This scene was shot in 1980, the quality and quantity of life have improved noticeably since then. So in that respect, he did quite well for the time.

  • Mayberry jail?

  • @VanWADebbie Book em Barnie!!!LOL

  • For a couple of guys their age, that was a hell of a fight scene.

  • @ingravegreen - Let's remember, Jack Lord was 60 at the time and Khigh Dheigh who played Wo Fat was 70!.

Neither man was young, so all things considered, they weren't that bad. Most 70 year olds wouldn't be able to get up after hitting the ground at all! :)

  • it's show biz...

  • I never knew Wo Fat had a glass jaw...on good hit and its over....lol

  • I still remember the first time McGarrett captured WoFat . McGarrett was pissed when he found out the government exchanged WoFat for some captured U.S agents in China. He slams the phone down and his face twisted with anger.

  • anyone one noticed that Jack lord had aged rapidly while the actor that played Wo Fat didn't seem to age at all?

  • @RayeMcGarrett yes. Jack Lord had early onset Alzheimers during the last season.

  • Wo Fat was the man. Don't get me wrong. McGarrett and all the five-O team rocked. But next to the Vashons, Wo Fat was the man. Even when those plots ended in failures it still made for a ripping good yarn. Like NIne Dragons or Woe to to Wo Fat. Sitting in jail after McGarrett leaves, and calmly taking out that file. If you think we're done, guess again. Classic Wo Fat.

  • The 1:02 mark... "Bring it on, fatso."

  • I remember this! The last episode! I am getting old. What a great show! It was on CBS.

  • The scariest moment in 5-0 history was the mummy in the pool torture, when Fat undoes the head wrap and the screaming is replaced by horns in an orchestra. To have it slide to this level...It's like Larry King fighting Mister Fuji from WWF.

  • @moboutmen LMAO! That would've been funny if Wo Fat had thrown "salt" in McGarrett's eyes and then whacked him with a cane :)

  • @fivebearrugs haha, the salt part. lmao

  • V for Vashon is my my favorite Five 0 episodes.

  • Great stuff ! Thanks, mcgarrett11 ! I never got to see this when it orig aired as I was 14/15 at the time and prob. buried in homework or studying for a test. Better 30 yrs late than never !! LOL H50 was a pioneering show, to which so many of today's TV cop dramas owe a huge debt of gratitude. Let's also not forget that its success came amidst the US involvement in Vietnam, when anti-Asian /Pacific Rim sentiment ran high on the US mainland. It *had* to be great to overcome those odds.

  • Magnum P.I. then took over for McGarret the following year. LOL

  • actually the same year. just a few months later.

  • Khigh Dheigh had a role in the original version of "The Manchurian Candidate", from 1962. He was really good in that, but I forgot he was on "Hawaii Five-O". I mostly remember the show's theme song, and its opening titles.

  • I love that: McGarrett walks away so smug and WoFat plans yet another escape.

  • Steve McGarrett drinks Wo Fat Milk (facebook fans). Love it!

  • Wo Fat worked for both sides in the Cold War, he was rich eniough probably paid off both sides handsomely....Money talks

  • Television so riveting I am still amazed everyone didnt fold up their tents and go into movies. When could this possibly be topped?

  • v for vashon 3 parter is my favourite...

  • Wo Fat was the best.

    Mahalo

  • they just replaced H50 on channel 56 in LA at 2pm for which I'm grateful because i was addicted to watching it. Now I can get back to my other addictions that need tending to. Loved to see Hawaii in the 70's. Aloha Jack

  • Hawaii Five sank to the depths in the last 3 seasons, the plots and the acting were dreadful- and this was truly diabolical. I tell you only watch the first 6 series.

  • @vikesh81 After Kono left, the show seemed to start going downhill. I refuse to watch past season 4.

  • @zardcat1111 A lot of people felt this way after they killed Dano.

  • @hanoc101 Chin Ho was the only Five-0 member to die, Danno just left the series without an official explanation.

  • @zardcat1111 Don't doubt you big guy but I could have sworn he was killed in a car crash. Guess the mind is the first thing to go when you get old.

  • @hanoc101 Yeah, I'm 23 and no for a fact that Chin Ho died at the end of season 10. He was shot and his body was thrown in front of the Five-0 headquarters. Danno was in season 11, but failed to appear in season 12 (the final season). Once again, there was no explanation and no mention of him. A character by the name of "Kimo" took Danno's place and McGarrett would end many season 12 episodes saying, "Lock him up, Kimo".

  • Not bad for a 59 year old. 1979

  • It was a great show and ghe one thing that also made the show was the music during the show. Jack was a great actor for his age, he will be sorrowfully missed by me.

  • Some martial arts moves. Pure corn.

  • @Songsmirth Can you do better at their ages? Jack Lord was 60 and Khigh Diegh was 70.

  • It was appropriate that the finale was McGarrett capturing Wo Fat. What was also appropriate, was the fact that McGarrett got cooked.....again. That was the allure of the show, the fact that McGarrett got cooked so many times, that the REAL fans of the show took delight in seeing him getting cooked. The best episode of Hawaii Five-O is "Hookman." If anyone can post it, I'd be most grateful.

  • That's why I think Wo Fat was the best villain ever...he always got away.

  • Is Woo Fat George Foreman?

  • Khigh Dheigh was not Oriental rather African American, his real name was Kenneth Dickerson. Jack Lord was not White rather a Sri Lankan Woman named Babiya Balamugathan. The wonder of Television.

  • love your Lord theory, however he was just a kid from Queens, NY,,,

    patricia, Queens NY

  • Thanks for posting this. Brings back old memories, for sure. I was 19, had just gotten into my first serious relationship a couple of months earlier, and the world seemed exciting and fresh every day. I was never what you'd call a "huge" fan of Five 0 back then, but did watch it fairly often. I did like it enough to try and make sure I caught the series finale though, since it was kind of an iconic series for my generation.

  • Book 'im, McGarrett.

  • I dunno.. Wo Fat looks kinda doughey and old

  • One thing you need to keep in mind was that Keigh Dhigh was 70 years old when he appeared in this episode. Bearing that in mind, he looks in pretty good shape for that age (and given also the fact that he never was exactly what one would call "trim" to begin with).

  • This has echoes of "Nick Fury" all over it, but the series had to end on a high note---McGarrett did bring the warlord Wo Fat to justice at last.

  • It was appropriate they concluded the series with McGarrett finally capturing Wo Fat once and for all, especially since the series began 12 years earlier with the two of them battling each other.

The show, however. by the final season suffered from low ratings, departure of almost the entire original cast and the fact Wo Fat had not appeared on the show for three seasons...

  • book em danno...danno, danno, where are you danno....

  • Danno long left the scene.

The ending, however, hinted at a possible rematch.

Didn't they have an alternate ending where Wo Fat realized and admitted that it IS the end?
