It's true that Larry started the band, but early on Adam was the one who hustled the gigs. He would call pubs and clubs posing as a member of a band that was playing on a certain night, and tell them they had to cancel. Then he would call back later and tell say that his band were free to play that night. Friggin' genius!

I copied the whole concert about 20 Years ago on VHS. ;-) Obviously the most of the crowd never heard something about the band U2. In the beginning of the show just a few the audience slapped in their hands, dancing...it changed enormous during the concert....

Interesting watching this! The way Bono works the crowd and band are not so different even today. If you watch some of there DVD's the performances are quite simular throughout there career.

Holy Cow, That was fantastic. Love the old school U2. The Edge still plays that guitar to this day at current shows for I will Follow, Beautiful Day and some others. Love it. Adam does not jump around like that any more.....LOL but he is more smoothe now.

Great performance!! One of my favourite U2 songs, this in some ways is better than the version on 'Under a blood red sky'. The german singing along spoils it a bit. Shame there aren't bands like these guys anymore!! Only bad imitations!! long live U2!!!!!

Absolut Fantastic! The performence is TV broadcast from the german "Rockpalast-Series". I saw the full concert some years ago on television and it`s true hot, hotter - the hottest. Amazing early U2!!!
