Alright your a security guard at a condo, and a car is illegally parked in the fire emergency space. Then! the car gets ticketed. And, this person is raging demanding for me to pay his ticket. And making all these demands and complaining and screaming in my face. How do I De-escelate this situation? and make him move on. without relegating this back to my supervisor.? This will help me so much thanks everyone. I cant seem to find any reference to how to deal with this specific case.
Doc Rhino has been at it for a long time. I went through the academy in 1990 and watched his seminar in 1991. It stuck with me and improved my ability to defuse situations. It's a big tool for your toolbox that has many settings. Over time that tool develops and grows into a multi use tool that you'll use on and off the job as well as with your kids, girlfriends, wife(wives). Stay safe and thanks Doc.
This is great - for more like tis why not check out How Not to Get Hit, the newly published non-violent guide to self defence that spends more time looking at behaviour management and not being there in the first place than what to do if someone punches you! Check it out on amazon.
Thus is awesome. I'm thankful Mr. Thompson's company for allowing it to be be published and Columbia U for having the foresight to tape it and post it online. Really dug it.
I have been in law enforcement and security for over 30 years, this is an effective tool to put on your tool belt, it has worked for me. But you must be prepared to hear and understand it.
What are some good books that i can buy about verbal judo i couldn't hear what the gentleman said in the beggining. It would come in handy for my job purposes as well.
R.I.P DOC

You didn't say WHO wrote the ticket and why anyone thinks that you are responsible. Exactly what kind of ticket is it?
