This makes me sad! Does anyone know who purchased the hotel and what they plan on doing with the site?

NO! When did this take place? I grew up in Pennsylvania but, my grandmother lived in Belmar. When I was a little kid my parents would take me and siblings to the Asbury Park boardwalk and the Palace. I always loved this old hotel. We still go deep sea fishing out of Belmar and every trip I take a drive through Asbury. Last time I was there I wrote down the telephone number that was posted on the for sale sign. When I called to inquire about the hotel the price was out of my range.

FYI Henry Sr.'s first job was in 1964 tearing down the bridge from the Sunset pavilion, he knows construction! and just cause he is a well known Italian with a last name ending in a vowel doesn't mean he's corrupt! He's a really hard working guy and he loves what he does.

I am familiar with the construction done in Asbury over the years & Vaccaro Construction, no corruption w/Vac but I definantly believe Asbury still has corruption. Too much greed here still. By the way, I'm Italian also & fully know that its not the Italians that are corrupt ... read the papers & 9 out of 10 names in corruption do not end in vowels! LOL

LOL cause we're damn good! actually we don't get all the work.. Delissa, Vics Landscaping, Theo Enterprises, G&M Eastern, Mazza, Jack Green Construction and Gordan and a few out of town firms along the way... we just have the most toys and we are the only contractor actually in ASBURY and most of our guys live in AP.

I just saw it a few weeks ago. On a personal note, I thought they should have considered to keep it as an historic figure (which it was) but it also paves the way for new things (such as an amusement center). A.P is working so hard to get everything ready for the summer season. Only two months away!! (May)

LOL Pere, me & you catch up alot. I agree with you about all that is being fixed up & restored after all these years. I am here everyday & I am witnessing all the good that is going on...however; the Metropolitan is not ocean front & was not in the way...I guess I'm just dissapointed because I made myself believe that it was going to be fixed up like the carousel house was...I guess I'm just sore is all lol
