On a diesel SMOKE=BROKE, the more smoke coming out, the less power there is. If he fixed his engine he would get even MORE power without smoke. Smoke is just diesel not used in the combustion cycle, only so much can fit in each cylinder. It fouls the exhaust valves making them stick open, reducing power. It blocks the CAT, DPF and turbo, modern powerful diesels DO NOT SMOKE...all fuel is used for power.

All of the carbon in our bodies are contained within our cells, specifically all the proteins and sugars etc. within those cells. While the carbon in our cells is atomically the same as the carbon in carbon dioxide, those proteins and CO2 are totally different. If you ingest protein, that's healthy in correct dosages. If you inhale CO2, you could suffocate.
