can someone help me!!! I'm looking for the cd, name, song that came out between 2003/04 or 05. I think the CD was named Underground, it was a gospel rap cd. The cd itself is burgundy in color. and it had this BAD song on there I think it was titled "Hold On". It was a slow groove rap, with what sounded like a song sample to Nas' "One Mic" song. If this jogs anyone's memory please contact me. This song was so good, and its driving me crazy that i can't think of it.

The girls in the video are not dancing provocative, and are fully covered. I use videos such as this one to show my students that hip hop doesn't have to be dirty to be cool. Thank you for showing the world that Christian hip hop does not have to be religiously sounding, but strong to the truth of Christ!
The sad part is, they think they are accomplishing something by trying to fuse darkness with lightness, evil with good. It is like...Christian Satanism. uhh... i dont even know what those moves are exactly - chicken noodle soup sounds pretty funky tho ^_^. but i cant see why they'd be a problem unless theyre provocative towards what God has very clearly said is unacceptable (example and that means ONLY AN EXAMPLE: something with explicit sexual conotations.)
I personally love this type of music and about 40 of my 70 CDs are christian rap and the rest are christian rock. We are supposed to worship and praise God with the talents He has given us. These guys get up there and dance and rap because that is what they do best, they are praising God with the talents he has given them. I feel the same way about when people say that you can't have christian hard core rock. They are praising God the best they can with their lives.

as christians, we are to "be all things to all men, to gain a few" even. if this music brings the unsaved to the light, let it's truth shine on them. I use christian rap like this group to minister to kids in juvenile hall, and many come to Christ, knowing that christian music doesn't have to be boring and slow.

uhh... i dont even know what those moves are exactly - chicken noodle soup sounds pretty funky tho ^_^. but i cant see why they'd be a problem unless theyre provocative towards what God has very clearly said is unacceptable (example and that means ONLY AN EXAMPLE: something with explicit sexual conotations.)

I personally love this type of music and about 40 of my 70 CDs are christian rap and the rest are christian rock. We are supposed to worship and praise God with the talents He has given us. These guys get up there and dance and rap because that is what they do best, they are praising God with the talents he has given them. I feel the same way about when people say that you can't have christian hard core rock. They are praising God the best they can with their lives.

thanks for this discussion amora4u. i love the lord very much too and i cant really picture God complaining abt a way of worship because of the genre of music. dancing like ppl do in a club, is that in itself sinful? nonetheless, forgive me for my sarcasm, i was trying to make a point. love and blessings in jesus' name, amen.

The bible doesnt say that dancing with lights and bouncy music is acceptable but it does say that david danced "with all his might" (not doing just a plain 1-2 step) and it says it was in a way that shamed Saul's daughter when she saw him. NIV says that it made her despise him. even so, what's wrong with dancing, bouncy music and coloured lights, where does the bible say its unacceptable?

ok lets review what the behaviour in this video exactly is. They're shouting with joy and passion that they're running with Jesus, theyre also expressing that through music to which theyre very energetically an enthusiastically dancing, with fancy coloured lights flashing everywhere. oh dear! SO THAT MUST MEAN HILLSONG CHURCH AND PLANETSHAKERS ALL HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH GOD!!!

ohhh so saints who are truly praising and magnifying God have to be shouting and speaking in heavenly tongues. which part of the bible says that again? i think i may have missed it. and i do suppose that saints who are excited and shouting dont at all in any way enjoy the music that they are praising God to. so because bumpin music satisfies people, then therefore God must absolutely hate it i see... i can understand thats a very biblical rationalisation. i clearly see where you're coming from!

wow. excellent conclusion. and i suppose you've interviewed and monitored every person whos heard the song to conclude that. very impressive! i'd agree that dancing and celebrating the glory of our Lord with bumpin music as a gathering of believers is clearly a forbidden act. it makes more sense to stand still and frowning and drooping like we're at a funeral - yes actually that would be a more appropriate way to celebrate the fact that our Lord is risen and alive. Brilliant!

Hip hop my be frome the worl but it can be transformed just like jlove2311 said.If it is used for a purpose in the holy kingdom of God the it is alright.But we r not to be conformed.God used earthly things to glorify his kingdom.Y can he use hiphop and dancing?I dont beliee it is wrong.

as christians, we are to "be all things to all men, to gain a few" even. if this music brings the unsaved to the light, let it's truth shine on them. I use christian rap like this group to minister to kids in juvenile hall, and many come to Christ, knowing that christian music doesn't have to be boring and slow.

How U kno if U transformed? Jesus sed U will kno them by their fruits. Fruit of the spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, longsuffering, goodness, Faith, Meekness, Temperence against such there is NO LAW. If music shows it it's legit. If Not it's trash. Dont get me wrong... i threw away some Gospel Hip Hop, Rock, etc... because they dont display this.

yes, we are supposed to be transformed by christ and shouldnt conform. but tell me... what is wrong with hip-hop? is it wrong to dance? dancing is scattered all through out the old testament. david danced. is it wrong to have a party and celebrate the glory of our god in a group? they did it in the book of acts.

Conform-To act in accordance with current customs or modes.
Transform-To change the nature, function, or condition of; convert.
Hip Hop originated from the world. So to sum everything up, a follower of Christ is not supposed to act in accordance with the current customs or modes of the world

Paul became a Jew to win a Jew. To the Greek he bacame a Greek. Why? He loved them so much. How else is he able to reach them. If you're led of the Spirit you are not under the law. ALL things are lawful but not ALL things are expediant. Read 1 Cor 10:26-33. There's a time and a place for this genre of gospel. It's not my only tool to reach people. And I literally travelled the world to reach people.
