We get the Govt. we desire every time, Our Govt. Reflects Us !
I have to disagree. The problem is complacency. As Jefferson noted in the Declaration of Independence.
"accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed."
As long as people consider themselves "comfortable" most will not stand up.
Oh, and I don't mind Paul's endorsement of Baldwin that much. Baldwin's far from perfect, but at least he restrict US aggression to within our borders. I heard Barr say that the US should maintain military bases across the world.
The only good thing about the Constitution, I think, is free movement and trade between the states. The Bill of Rights is nice too, but it hasn't been effective.
Have you read the ENTIRE constitution? If not you should. The only reason it has been ineffective is because we the people have let it become so. Do you like the thought of becoming a country like all the others? Do you like the thought of being jailed without due process? Do you like the thought of not being able to defend yourself or your family? Stop the maddness vote 3rd party. Save our nation. For me it is Chuck Baldwin. But there is Barr, Nader, and Mckinney. youtube them, ck your ballot
Very Good Thanks!! FREE STATE & DAVE r COOL Please Vote Chuck Baldwin he will Bring (NEW WORLD ORDER DOWN NOW)!!! RON PAUL IS BACKING HIM VOTE THIRD PARTY THANKS !! CHUCK BALDWIN defends our gun rights VOTE VOTE!!! view # 642
I am voting for Baldwin since Ron Paul dropped out. Baldwin is the best choice since RP is not in the race anymore. I think we need to pick a good third party guy that supports the constitution and most of us get behind him. I know not everyone will vote for Baldwin, but you gotta admit, he is much better (constitution friendly and pro liberty) than McCain and Obama.
I cannot vote for Barr since he voted for the Patriot Act. He may say he regrets it, but he had the chance to vote against it. I am not so sure Barr isn't a Neocon plant. I also think the comments about Baldwin being a theocrat are not true. Baldwin has stated in his most recent newsletter by email that he supports everyone's religious rights, including the right to NOT worship God if that is their choice.
Baldwin does not support a theocracy and those fears are very overblown. There is a youtube clip where he supports states to decide on their own post laws. I do think the platform needs re-worded but Baldwin is the best presidential candidate running.
I supported Ron Paul, although I never thought he was Libertarian enough.
There is no way I could support a theocrat like Baldwin. It's sad to see Ron Paul join with this unlibertarian theocratic party that doesn't respect Individual Liberty.
There is still only the Libertarian Party if you want to support liberty (except for the LP splinters Boston Tea and Objectivist who will hopefully return by 2012.)
Yeah, I agree. Bob Barr is a Libertarian, Chuck Baldwin is a paleoconservative. I feel like they are very similar except when it comes to social issues. I support the rights of ALL people like a Libertarian, Chuck Baldwin fights against gay rights...that's anti-liberty within itself! I too have a problem with the Constitution Party's theocratic platform, it's almost sickening. I wasn't sure who I was going to vote for but Baldwin isnt even on the NY ballot or 14 other state ballots. Barr it is!
He is on your states ballot as a write in. Chuck Baldwin opposes gay marriage, just like OBAMA & MCCAIN. He doesn't oppose gay rights to live as they choose or to enter into contracts. ANY 3RD PARTY IS BETTER THAN MORE OF THE SAME. Obama & Mccain are both more of the same. BOTH ARE WRONG FOR THIS COUNTRY. Check out ALL YOUR OPTIONS. Chuck is on like 47 states ballot. Gives him a good shot if we spread the word. No government may legitimately authorize or define marriage or family relations
Ok so quick question. You disagree with the Constitution because it gave the federal government too much power. So quick question. How much power is the federal government supposed to have? It should have enough to do what it is supposed to do which can vary from time to time.
Why is it necessary to organize into a single United States? What's the difference between that and organizing many nations into a United Nations?
Even if I agreed with the need for a Union (which I don't), the Articles of Confederation would have been better, because they created a weaker central government than did the Consitution.
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. This SHOULD HAVE BEEN a major limiting factor of Fedthug power, however the supreme court hasn't been so good about enforcing it.
The only third parties we can afford right now are left-wing ones. Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin and Bob Barr are battles that can not be won and in the process divert from battles that came be won. We simply don't have the political capital to have a war on the right between libertarianism and modern conservativism. It's about as absurd as having a civil war during an alien invasion.
Unless these parties focus on the state/local level-like the Free State Project is in NH, then it can work, however yes, on a national level it is impractical (though I still might vote for Baldwin over McCain depending on if Mr. McCain opposes this aweful spending bill 700B-Obama is just so...bad, plus McCain did pick Palin, now I am rethining that decision and may support Baldwin)..
This guy says he wants to keep his promise to Ron Paul by writting his name in but Ron Paul himself has said he doesn't really want people to that but they are free to if they wish. Ron Paul really pushing dissatisfied voters to vote "third party". Wheather it be Independent, Constitution, Libertarian, or even the Green Party.
I must say I'm disappointed. RP's stand to not support anyone led to the pundants asking him over and over "So, McCain or Obama?" which was a perfect opportunity to point out there's not a lick of difference between them.
Glad that Ron has finally endorsed someone we can get behind...Baldwin says the Federal Drug War should end and be left up to the States...he's correct...then the States(and their populaces) can decide what to do....
Yep, without the centralized decisions on who goes to prison on the drug issue, I think the states will suddenly decide that enforcement of drug laws is a bad idea... That is, unless the states regain ownership and control of the corporate prisons and continue what the federal government has been doing with the prison system. From the state level, you are less likely to be treated as chattel. At least if your state continues the drug war you can move to a free state, if you desire.
I think the moment the Fed Gov turns off the MONEY that state/local enforcers get for their antics in this drug war, they states will drop it like a hot potato(e).
well, those who do not support the legalization of marijuana are not libertarians. not everybody in this country supports liberty. i personally think we should be allowed to do as we wish with our own bodies.
i've been smoking weed since i'm 15. i'm now 24 years old, and a college graduate with a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University at Albany in NY. i played football, basketball, and track in high school. i still smoke weed and i lift weights 5 days a week. weed isnt bad.
it doenst make u lazy except when you're "high". it doesnt make you stupid. weed doesnt kill brain cells, alcohol does...look it up! thc fights cancer and even shrinks tumors, tobacco and alcohol cause cancer. the list goes on and on. there are intelligent people who research things in life, and there are easily lead sheep who believe the propaganda they are fed all their lives. some of us eventually grow up and learn to think for ourselves, others need the government to play mommy and daddy!
Baldwin gets a lot of super important issues right but at the same time gets a lot of other pretty important issues wrong. I also noticed I couldn't find his stances on a lot of issues. The drug war was one thing I couldn't really find out about. I saw a question and answer session with him where he was asked about medical marijuana. All he said was it's a state issue. He didn't go beyond that.
I'm voting Cynthia McKinney though since she lines up more with my views.

Dave good analysis as always. If you want to search a website just use google, type in the keyword, then site. example:(taxes site:baldwin08*com) replace the * with a.
I checked out his website right after the endorsement and there are a few things I strongly disagree with like the border control stuff. He also seems to hint at a "9/11 truth" stance which doesn't bother me too much as long as it's not his main issue. Since I'll be in NH I've decided to vote for George Phillies. For others around the country that are going to vote Baldwin seems like the least of the evils.
I never heard RP be very adamant in border control. In fact, as I understand it only a few years ago was advocating no borders. From Baldwins site I got the impression he is strongly for turning the US into a large prison. It's impossible to be anti police state and pro border control. Internal check points 100's of miles from the border, etc. are already happening. Don't get me wrong. He is the best on most ballots and I would likely vote for him. In NH there's another 3rd party choice is all.
My take on the phrase that George Bush Sr so threateningly spoke "New World Order" way back when is global socialism. I'm anti-that crap.
I do believe that the "New World Order" is part of the UN agenda... It's not a force for anything good as far as I'm concerned, but quite the opposite. The strings are all pulled by ruthless money. Thanks for being a fellow anti-federalist =)

It was also a step towards alot of other good things. I doubt America would be as great as it is today if we didn't have a Constitution.
Just because something can be used for tyranny doesn't mean it will be.
"No central government."
OK then how are the states supposed to have been organized into a single United States without some kind of "head"?

"Why is it necessary to organize into a single United States?"
Two words: National Greatness
We wouldn't have been as successful were we divided instead we have created the greatest civilization in world history.
Why did the Romans have to organize? They didn't need to but they would never have created their magnificent empire had they not.
