@xSugarplum But you'll notice that most of them are doing things like eating, studying, etc. when they are being driven around. It is smarter in some cases to drive them and allow them to do something else while on the road.

Many times moms of skaters will work at the rink or for a group of coaches - doing filing or answering the phones. So they are at the rink with them anyway.

Sacrifice? Yeah, right. Notice how NONE of these mothers work? Their whole day consists of going with their children to the ice rink- in most cases the moms use the gyms at the rinks to work out- that's it. No work, no stress, nothing. Most parents would kill to get to spend that much time with their teenagers...much less not even have to worry about work. Any of these mothers whining about finances might want to consider contributing to them by getting a job.

I think sandy should have stayed out of competition that year. I understand she doesnt want to give up, but competing when unable to perform and getting bad scores will just make her feel much worse than not entering the competition at all.I hope she recovers soon from injury and give herself a little rest...
