  • I love it! I never thought of my book as a journal, but it really is a reflection of what I was thinking, my mood, how creative I felt at the time... You have encouraged me even more with this video to spend more time on my creative journey, but not feeling like I have to produce a titled piece or a show piece but to have fun and think on paper. Good job and thanks so much!

  • I think it is great to be able to just be ME in my journal. Sometimes messy, sometimes amazing, some just words, some l hate but don't throw away because there was a reason l made it like that l suppose! I think sometimes people forget why we journal. By all means have a "this is my best work " journal but journals should be like our minds..higgaldy piggaly(spelt wrongly l think!). Hope this makes sense, as l can't sleep thought l would write to you insteadxxlynda

  • @elemaitch

I think people keep journals for different reasons ... some are experimental technique journals, some are daily sketchbooks, some are for the outpourings of the soul, some are pretty with photos and keepsakes, some are grungey and messy ..and some are everything thrown into one journal ... I think there is no " Should" either way ... make it your best work .. make it your eclectic playground ..or dance as the muse guides you..

  • I am so glad you write this Milliande. I also think there is no right way...xlynda

  • I feel so relief, because I thought I was the only one using several journals at a time. I have pile of books, I just love them.

And some really get finished too. I was also thinking about this showcase thing.

Firstly I really respect you showing your journal, because it is also an opening form your innerself. Thank you!

I wondered if somebody shows his journal here, there could be a kind of competition. How can someone feel free to express, with the background of showing it here?

  • Thank you for this video. It is a relief to see that your journals are random like mine. I also am glad you mentioned that you have several journals going on at once. I usually make myself feel guilty for wanting to jump to a new journal as often as I do. :o)

  • i find it funni watching your head poke out at all angles whilst showing us ure fabulous art journal! Lol. Your art is amazing!

  • It seems more like a "sketch book" to me?

  • Thank you for showing us your journal. I really appreciate how open and honest you are with you entries and work! You are a great inspiration!

  • Hi What name brand journal do you have, I want to get me one like that, a big one, your journal looks so nice, I love all your artwork, I am going to try it now.

  • Milliande - It's such a treat to look into someone else's journal! I love them! They look a lot like mine, the color really does make the drawings pop, and it's nice to see that all of your pictures aren't perfect. I have so many journals going right now, that I don't know how many I actually have, I keep one in my car and in almost every room of the house. You never know when the mood will strike........ Thanks for sharing! Marva

  • Great point Milliande. I have 4 different type journals on the go at the moment and it all depends on where I am and what I'm feeling as to which I go for. Some of it is good, most of it is bad, but to me it's all soulful. And even the bad stuff gets posted on my MySpace because it's just as important. I love that you are going down this path in the club because these ladies are really talented

  • Yes .. I am really after Soul Connection, looking at what sits just beyond the ordinary awareness ...at what can be teased out trough art journaling into consciousness ... It brings up a lot of fear on many levels ...but to me its beautiful as it helps me grow authentically ..rather than pre-determined :-)

  • not to insult you or anything but i couldnt understand what you were saying......idk maybe it was your fault or the microphone or maybe when you are talking you shouldnt put music in the background

  • LOVE the flower in your hair. I need a flower. and thats a great point that "whatever comes out at the time it comes out." it shouldnt always be about perfect pages - but there is something gritty about spontaneous pages mixed with pages done with intention and care and the whole thing wrapped together in one book. of your life. and what you think about and see. thank you for sharing yours <3

  • I LOVE MY FLOWERs, I have many but lately been thinking about making my own ~Hey shall we make some :-)

Gritty - A brilliant word ....I like your idea of focussing on the Happy things... through the Grit the most beautiful things can be revealed that one never knew were blooming underneath " A Mountain is like the Wave of Life" You climb up, enjoy the view from the top then you tumble down ..only to climb up again " For me the trick is to "Make it a Joyful Climb ..and a Joyful Dive"

  • Thanks for showing us! Mine look a bit like yours. You have some great stuff in there. Mine's a mish mosh of everything. You know, I have a habit of starting a page... then coming back 2, 3 4 + times to add to it. Then I question the date I put on the page when I started it, lol.

  • MISH MOSH ...Gritty Mish Mosh ..it as got to become a technical term ... love it
