  • i really wanna learn how to play bass O.O it's very interesting!

  • i do not no if i want a bass guitar or not is it fun?

  • loving these lessons.

  • Man he sounds like Kyle Gass!!

  • What was that switch on the top back part of his neck?

  • @McmurfKillz Hipshot bass xtender, it's a little lever you flip to drop the tuning on that particular string.

  • @McmurfKillz Drop D manskie

  • When he said "Lets start with a G magor scale which we all know." NO I DONT KNOW!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great lesson wll explained!

  • DAMN i quit the piano 2 years ago, and i've forgotten all my music theory T.T

  • his bass looks beautiful, wich model is it?

  • @fraidwoodcesco looks like a fender jazz bass to me. his is probably specially made though.

  • @fraidwoodcesco Fender Stu Hamm Signature. It's unusual for a Fender b/c it has 24 frets instead of the usual 20, and it has both the Jazz AND Precision pickups with the 5-way selector from a Strat. Cool instrument, very versatile.

  • Oops. The F is sharp.

  • @younghatter The G major scale is just the notes G,A,B,C,D,E,F,G. If u watch his hand, that's what he's playing. Then the next scale starts with A. (abcdefga) and so on. Hope this helps.

  • wow this sucks

  • i love the way he explains things up!

  • It's so frustrating, i'm a complete beginner to bass, and EVERY teacher on youtube for some reason assumes i know what a G Major scale is?!

  • @younghatter I KNOW RIGHT!! same problem for me too..>.<... i

  • @huhututu Someone needs to teach us music theory!

  • I tried out the urge bass. What I didn't like is felt like the pick guard was way too close to the top of the neck. In other words, my picking fingers had absolutely no room to g once I plucked the string. Also the pickups raised about 3--4 mm from the pickguard.

  • gordo del orto deja d morfar un poco que cada vez tocas peor!!!!

  • THE NAMES! WHY ARE THEY SO COMPLICATED?!

  • He looks like my orthodontist O.o lol

  • @PlushChronicles You should ask your Orthodontist if he gives lessons.

  • whee can i find some mode tabs???

  • noone has ever explained it to me like that. THANK YOU Stu Hamm!!

  • hey Stu, what book or resource would you recommend me to memorize the musical notes? I didn't really understand this lesson because of that :(

  • @818KLOWNER I am also interested in that, but the only technique I know of are mnemonics, roman room method and the peg system. I only know of these methods, but I don't know how to apply these to learning music. Maybe you could use the roman room method to learn where the notes on the neck are, and then use another method for remembering the scales, chords and modes. Look for some memory books at the library and you will find more information about the memory techniques I'm talking about.

  • garr, I want that bass, but i don't trust ebay...

  • Why did fender drop Stu and stop making the Urge II? Such a great bass

  • thanks man!

  • That is a siiiick P-bass!!!

  • @x1te thats not a p bass

  • Stu Hamm, omg! Cool, thanks for the lessons. I'm a guitarist, play mostly by ear..but am now focusing on learning modes etc right here on Youtube!

  • number them!!

  • @Niallphillips Done! :-)
