Gawd, he's an amazing creature. So much heart in one horse, it puts me in awe. I'm really glad that they created a statue for him in his memory and put it at Churhill Downs. I hope no one forgets him.

Yes, I feel very good posting these comments! Heart and courage? The only reason the dumb beast raced was because there was this little fucker sitting on his back, whipping him to go faster! If he had so much "heart" and was so "couragous", why didn't he survive his injuries? Yes, he won some races, but all that does is make him a speedy farm animal! OriginalChosen1, Every racehorse has courage and heart to run. Technically he didn't have to listen to the jockey. He's 1,000 lbs or more, jockey is about 110. He didn't survive his injuries because he was humanely euthanized, by PEOPLE. Laminitis isn't something a horse can prevent on their own. They don't know that putting too much weight on one leg could potentially harm them. Barbaro was a symbol of courage to us. You're just an idiot who doesn't know what their talking about.

Oh, but Barbaro WAS still here for quite awhile after he died! I doubt that he still is now, but you gotta figure that for months after he died, he was in cans of Alpo and other name brands for a long time! And you never know, he might still be out there in Elmer's and other glue brands! Some people keep glue for a long time! I'd check into it! You may have Barbs in your home right now and not even know it!

Carly you do awesome work with these videos and have brought many hours of comfort to those of us who can come here and relive Barbaro's life through your videos. He was truly a great horse and whether one believes animals have souls or not is insignificant; its not like any of us will be able to come back and say "I told you so" one way or the other. I like to believe that they do have souls and we will all meet again, I might be wrong, but thinking that way for now, get's me through it.

Barbaro. I......everytime I think of him...all I see is him running away with Edgar Prado in the Kentucky Derby. and when I close my eyes, there he is. Meeting this big boy in person was an honor. a memory that I shall never forget. If anyone ever asks me who my favorite celebrity I ever met is, I would say Barbaro.
