Incredibly tame. C'mon guys you can do better than that! You know its not really a protest until you get tear gassed. C'mon throw a rock or somthing dammit.
You see, Atlanta has this stupid law and it is strict. They DO NOT want anyone to cover their face with a mask. Especially, in a ski mask type fashion. It is against the law!!! I KNOW, it DOES SUCK!!!!!
Its just like civil rights protests. They got brought in for wanting fair treatment. Who is to say that this is a bad thing? We want Co$ to be treated like any other company or some members only VIP country club, so getting arrested for that just makes since to me. When something as ridiculous as that happens, it only makes it more obvious to the public. Thus we get our way.
lol it sucks that they stopped clapping and started to yell, "Let him go!" For one.. there were two of them. Secondly, we should be proud to be arrested for what we believe in.
Oh wow, this is the first time I'd seen the events that occurred before the guy was taken in by the police. RIGHT after that gracious announcement! Among other things so rightfully mentioned by the other anon, that was... just fuckin' RUDE D:
I detest Scientology. Just because I express a critical opinion regarding the lack of organization of this protest, doesn't necessarily mean I am a member of the "Church". I was actually considering joining the movement. Until the comments I posted here were removed. A movement that does not tolerate opinions of descent. Sounds strangely familiar... So much for freedom of speech.
Well, why not? It's good to be courteous to the local police force, especially if you're going to be coming back to protest over an extended period of time. Heck, SF anon are planning thank you cards for the police in our area.
.. then again, the SF police aren't... well, these guys. [/understatement]
I can think of a CERTAIN police force that won't be getting any of the Anonymous cake the was mentioned :(
I understand that Anonymous is a leaderless movement. But just like the difference between strategy and tactics, there is a difference between a movement and a protest. A protest must have leadership and be well planned. Otherwise, people get arrested for bullshit. If you want to be sarcastic in front of the police, then get a fucking demonstration permit. They can't legally prevent you from obtaining one.
Um, I can't speak for the Anon in other cities, but in SF we HAVE been getting permits for our protests, for sound/demonstrations or whatever was needed for that particular day. Leadership was not necessary, merely various members of SF anon stepping up and taking initiative.
They were there to keep the peace and protect everyone involved, yet I didn't see any police on anon's side of the street unless it was to pistol whip and drag peaceful protesters away.
"In this country, protesters have a First Amendment right to demonstrate anonymously. The law which the protesters were told they were violating has been repealed as a result of an ACLU lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of that law. Now in Michigan a person cannot be arrested for wearing a mask during a demonstration unless the purpose of wearing a mask is to facilitate the commission of a crime. It's no crime to simply protest in this country."
What would they do? I do not understand? Please explain. I think they are nutts also. especialy after the spokes person actor got up on Opra Winfrey LOL. I wish you would all protest the NORTH AMERICAN UNION with me on April 19th stopp spp dot com to read more about it. No masks though. We need the citizens faces . We have nothing to hde. Info on rally at stopspp dot com soon
@Atlantaminuteman: Basically, if those working for the CoS can find out who the protesters are, as per their policy of "fair game", they are able to use that information to investigate the identified person's records and personal life, in order to harass and defame them (to name a few) for speaking out against the CoS. Already Anonymous protesters leaving raids have experienced being tailed when they tried to return home. It is therefore very much in our interest to remain masked and anonymous.
In a protest, one generally hides their identity for fear of retribution. Anybody should be free to speak without fear of unjust and unlawful retaliation. While Scientology claims to have canceled its "Fair Game" policy of retaliatory defamation, other sources allege that it is still in effect, albeit covertly. So, if one is protesting Scientology, you may infer that it's sensible to wear a mask as a precaution. Personally, I am neutral in this conflict. I don't really care either way.
Is it possible Anonymous protesters may become Dekalb county heros? The honorable chief of police, Terrell Bolton, has a not so honorable history. Google "dallas police chief Terrell Bolton fired" and "nbc5i news 2456224 detail". I have found copious quanities of negative information about from actual dekalb county police officers themselves. Some of which were on "Digg". I was quite suprized and disturbed!! I'll post a video AsAp with links to the "things of interest" that I stumbled upon.
Damn man, offer a muthafucker sum caek and this is what you get in return? **Note to self, Dont EVER visit Dee-cab! Police there are NOT there to serve or Protect me! Unless Im a Scion**
Anarchy will never work, and all of us recognize this. We love the police and the appreciate all the hard work they put into making our lives safe. Without the police system, society would collapse into a cesspool of buttsecks and aids.
All we are saying is that the Atlanta Police department is full of incompetent lying pricks who were bought off using stolen Scion jewgolds. They are a joke to law enforcement, a joke to the entire democratic system.
also aparently you don't need a permit for protest but you do need one for parade and that according to the use of the "mask" and the megaphone was considered a parade hence the arrest to the guys using the megaphone and the whole freaking out about covering the face too much....do not act against the police or defame it, that will put a bad name to anonymous just screw em back trough the legal system...apparently the man is stupid enough to let himself get screwed.
The US constitution give citizens the right to own property. The DeKalb county police os property of the church of scientology. Its their police force, they can do whatever they want with it. If you are so pissed of, why don't you just buy your own police force?
We're not going to buy books from you. We've read Hubbard's policy letter and it says that only the name "fair game" is removed while the actions of fair game shall continue.
Read the policy where it was "canceled". Hubbard wrote that they'd stop using "fair game" because it was bad PR but they'd still handle SPs just like they had before. In other words, they just removed the name "fair game" like they exchanged "guardian's office" with "office of special affairs".
Heres something to contemplate. When Anon stopped by with picket signs and sun glasses, The thug police department showed up with riot gear and assault weapons. When Anon voiced their opinion, pigs promptly took them away. When passers by attempted to voice their support with a beep, police thugs chased them down and silenced them with tickets. ??? Anyone noticing a trend here? Oppression? Intimidation? A scientology whored police force? A single finger salute to Atlanta P.D. 1966 revisited!!
It's DeKalb, not Atlanta PD. Also it seems the CoS either has some blackmail going on against somebody in the police, or they've threatened to sue the police.
I think the state troopers or the FBI might want to become involved here.
HOLY FUCK, THEY'RE OFFERING US CAKE, GET EM BOYS! Seriously, the cops in Toronto were nothing if not nice to us. We even got them doughnuts and coffee(which they unfortunately had to reject).
Does anyone know what the charges were for how long were they detained? Was their a bail set? Were there fines? If you wish not to leave a message here, please feel free to send a private message to my youtube account.
One of the arrested anons showed up in the comments section of the wikinews article about it and said that neither of them was ever read their Miranda rights. This is seriously fucked up.
You only need to be read your Miranda rights before you're questioned. If they ask you anything before reading you your rights, they might not be able to use it against you in court that's all.
"Scientology is evil; its techniques are evil; its practice is a serious threat to the community, medically, morally, and socially; and its adherents are sadly deluded and often mentally ill... --Justice Anderson, Supreme Court of Victoria, Australia
They have the right to be anonymous from the Scientologists. Indeed, the police must be able to guarantee the safety of protestors, counter-protestors and civilians alike. They were potentially risking the safety of those they arrested.
Given the "tensions" between Anon and Co$, one wonders why the police would not set up a neutral site for processing arrests. Of all places to take a protestor, why take them onto Co$ property???
so the OSA $cilon photographers can get the best pics possible (maybe without their masks) for their propaganda and disinformation campaign. Everyone should google "Fair Game" and educate themselves on the devious tactics of the Cult of $cientlogy
The question was rhetorical relative to the Co$ tactics for God's sake! Relative to the police department however, in theory at least, the question arises as to whose agenda they have bias toward. That was the point I was making.
So what happened to those guys I seriously want some info about this what were they charged for what? Why was this done? When was it done and under what charges was it done? And why did they take them onto the Scientology grounds to arrest them? That is illegal.
This is sick. I was there, and I am still trying to wrap my mind around why the cops behaved this way. Notice how the cops walk the arrested men by the Scientologist camera man real slow so he can get nice clear pictures of them to harass them later. This is bull shit.
haha classic, the guy with full face mask drew his baton as he walked past-Maybe he saw the bit in V for vendetta where the watchmen try to rape that woman and V saves her with those swords...lol he sure as hell wasn't in the real world - if someone offers you delicious caek then you don't need the beating stick -YOU HAVE ALL READY WON!
Has anyone else considered that as the protest wasn't illegal even if it did have an organizer (which it obviously didn't) then he still hadn't broken any laws?
This is a disgrace and makes a mockery of rights enshrined in the U.S. Constitution, as well as the U.N. Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This must be investigated. Scientologists previously boasted they had the Atlanta cops in their pocket - perhaps they were not exaggerating.
Didn't miss the point, we don't have definite leaders, but we have intelligent people telling us what to do under a myriad of nicknames and IPs to keep their anonymity.
I hope you guys put this video of the Dekalb County Police PAID BY THE CO$ arrest and attempt to intimidate peaceful protesters. If you all take this lying down, it is the begining of the end for free speech in America, HELL even RUSSIAN protests and LUTHUANIAN protests didn't have this shit.
Yeah, let's do something shady, such as march a guy up so that the people, previously shown to have outed suspected opponents on the internet, can photograph him. In front of a crowd of people utilizing video cameras and the internet. Surely no backlash will come of this!
lol shame on atlanta

This is a disgrace and makes a mockery of rights enshrined in the U.S. Constitution, as well as the U.N. Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This must be investigated. Scientologists previously boasted they had the Atlanta cops in their pocket - perhaps they were not exaggerating.

They most certainly did not read him his rights in 2 seconds. What they did was ILLEGAL in more ways than one. Sue the fuck out of them, please.

So stupid, arresting leaders of a leaderless group.
Were they released?

We're not leaderless, we just don't know who our leaders are.
lol.

Anon is led by ideas and not people.
HeroofTime55 4 years ago 7
Exactly
provoko 4 years ago
These ideas come from people.
Vitaminous 3 years ago
Good job on missing the point completely.
HeroofTime55 3 years ago 2
Didn't miss the point, we don't have definite leaders, but we have intelligent people telling us what to do under a myriad of nicknames and IPs to keep their anonymity.
Vitaminous 3 years ago
But they are not leaders. They are only people with good ideas.
In Anonymous, everyone is equal. Anonymity forces equality. There cannot be any leadership structure in such an environment.

Everyone is equal? lol, please...
Vitaminous 3 years ago
Anonymity forces it. Someone can't be given more power than someone else when nobody knows who the hell anyone else is.
HeroofTime55 3 years ago 2
No. There's literally no leader. :)

What happened?! They did nothing wrong.

Looks like the corruption clean up from the sheriff-on-sheriff assassination in dekalb county back in 2001 hasn't been completed yet.

AuntieKhrist 4 years ago 3
I'm pretty sure protesting in Russia is a lot more dangerous. Still the cops pulling people over for honking is just retarted.

Fuck the Atlanta Police Department, Thats Sum Bullshit, they arrested those dudes over Delicious Cake, I AM APPAULED
AnonTerrorist 4 years ago 2
The real reason for the arrests:
THE CAKE IS A LIE
THE POLICE WERE NOT HAPPY ABOUT THE LACK OF CAKE
GMSkel 4 years ago 6
Offer cake, receive arrest.
Yeah, let's do something shady, such as march a guy up so that the people, previously shown to have outed suspected opponents on the internet, can photograph him. In front of a crowd of people utilizing video cameras and the internet. Surely no backlash will come of this!
