@ilovechugs It's the Em pentatonic scale at the 7th fret. The Em pentatonic scale has notes all over the fretboard. What you are thinking of is a particular pattern, often referred to "Box 1", which is the same pattern in the open position and at the 12th fret. Take the notes of that pattern and figure out where those notes are all over the fretboard. Then start on the 6th string, 7th fret and play those notes down to the 1st string. You will have played what Peter was playing in his 1st ex.
Is it just me or does it seem very ridiculous to teach hammer on taps to beginners while teaching bending. Shouldn't people feel their way into bending after they have strong command of basic pentatonics instead of trying all this rubbish at the same time. Weird....
@Dmatrix9 I think hes just giving beginning guitarists like myself a vocabulary for playing...and we can put the pieces together after weve learned them. Its like a kid has to learn letters before he can learn words. He explains what he is doing well, and doesnt jam a whole buncha shit down newbie throat so fat that I cant get my head around it. Ill watch Paul Gilbert videos after I learn the basic gist.
damn that strat's frets are really freaking big
