boxing isnt dying. mma is just getting very popular. boxing dissapears from view and comes back all the time. mma is really a great sport, ive fought since I was 12. the thing about it is that it doesnt seem to need one fighter like tyson, ali, or marciano, to have a following. there are gracie,fedor,liddel,couture, and the like but when they retire the sport still thrives. 2 no name boxers gets no attention, boxing needs that fighter with a following. 2no name mma is still watched if promoted.

also dont insult boxing, remember how it feels when people insult mma. the hard core people will always be there. the masses are following the trend. boxing masses will return when its fashionable. lets hope mma stays popular. im 40 and when I watched the first ufc people were bad mouthing it. but it changed alot of our lives and we all went out to learn submissions and ground techniques instead of just hardening bones and kicking wood. mma means alot to us as boxing does to others.

boxing is great and so is wrestling. they are wonderful sports. I know wrestlers who now take mma classes to round their game. stand up fighters in our bjj class were black belts in tai kwon do but they want to be well rounded fighters. if I knew only bjj and no muay thai or hapkido I may fight well but not be a well rounded fighter. boxers and wrestlers are one dimensional fighters. they are superior in that one dimension but you cant come to mma today without many different abilities.

best against each other? fedor lost only 1 fight but hasnt fought the top guys yet. hey im on mma side if there even is a side. but as far as who fights who, there are alot of fighters inside (freind of a freind type of stuff) who know they cant fight because of contracts and fear. with the pride buy and dana white mess and the fact that different orginizations are in play people cant just fight. and a unification fight may cause issues so white and the fertittas may not like it.......

boxing is a buisness and so is mma. protecting a boxer is buisness. they made every dime off tyson that they could even after he lost his talent. ufc made gracie famous and when they sold it to the vegas guys (who Ive met)who are good at promoting, it became even more of a buisness. diffrent issues are involved with each sport and the way its cut up but don king or dana white are buisness men. they will put fights on according to what makes them the most money in the long run. not who is best.

true,but it's very evident that MMA is FOR and ABOUT the fans.That's why it became so popular.Boxing has been tarnished by fighters taking dives and crooked judging going on.Even the belt organizations are a joke.Boxing just doesnt appeal to fight fans anymore,before it was the only combat sport available to watch,now it's just in 2nd place and going to stay there for a very long time
