I wish I could've been on that plane. That might sound weird, but to survive something that could've been so tragic, to tell your story, it must've all been surreal, especially to look out your window and see icy-cold, murky water all around you.

Wonderful pilot also the passengers have to thank the designers of the plane AIRBUS. The A320 has a special ditching button that the pilot uses to seal it when landing on water. If this was a Boeing the outcome would probably have been different!

Some people on here are rude, wow.... I know the pilot is a hero, he saved my life and I cant be grateful enough. I lost 2 bags, a carry on, a laptop, a purse and an I Phone, but m still alive and will still get to be a bride this summer thx to that pilot...

Yes I was!! Seated in the fromt on the left side of the plane. And I lost my carry on, my coat, laptop, I phone, and 2 bags, but Im alive and get to marry still my BF this summer. So yea Im very grateful, very!! And the pilot is my hero and im orig from Danville CA and so is he, and im still shacken up and dont understand why this happen, but god was not ready for me.....

It is a French Built Aircraft; and the Boeing is a superior aircraft builder.

Boeing is a Cadillac and Airbus is a good Ford-

"All" Pilots in the world will agree that Airbus is a good "copy" of a Boeing Aircraft.

The A320 design is a puffed-up 737; and then, the 767 more or less copied the Airbus!

If you would rather fly on a Boeing than an Airbus, good luck flying over water. There is no ditching switch for the pilot so the aircraft may turn into a submarine when landing on water ha ha

The pilot actually didn't activate the ditching equipment for this flight.

In fact, prior to this flight, many engineers thought ditching a commercial airliner was impossible - so Boeing will probably soon add ditching equipment.

I'm not saying Airbus isn't better, but the ditch button didn't help on Thursday.

I dont think you can be sure of that. As a mechanic I know about it(ditching switch). If the pilot didn't press it it was an oversight and i can't see him admitting to thatat this point. Boeing have been years behind Airbus and quality is far better

I fly the old 747 Lufthansa often from Miami to Frankfurt, and it is an amazing plane.

Tell me, is it just 737 that is a junk?

Boeing practices would have been similar. The A319 is very similar to the A320 but just a little shorter with only 2 overwing exits instead of the 4 on the A320 because of having less passengers. The A319 is a very nice plane.
