  • Can i use my cdj 200 with djm 900 mixer and time code ?

Im bit confused here , my cdj 200 is connected to the mixer

    with only rca cable ?

  • @djhimmu > Yes, you connect it with RCAs from your CDJs to the mixer, the mixer is connected by USB to the computer and set-up as per the video.

  • @DeejayPulse Thank you , So with Djm 900 i dont need to take digital out from my cdj 200 ? only connecting the rca from my cdj 200 to my djm 900 wil work ? What ever track i have it in the traktor decks , ill be able to control it with my cdj 200 by just connecting it with rca cable ?

  • @djhimmu > You could certainly use the digital output, either way, it doesn't matter.

  • @DeejayPulse will try it tonight and will update , Djm 900 is an amazing dj mixer. Loving it more n more hahaha.

So with djm 900 mixer and cdj 200 jus connect witt rca cable to djm 900 ill be able to cue and play songs dropped in my Traktor software from my cdj 200. Gr8

  • Hi need help im looking at buying tractor to use with my pioneer DJM 900 nexus I want to use it with timecode can I buy the tractor pro 2 software and use timecode or do i have to buy trackter scratch pro 2. is there any difference in the software or is it just the scratch pro 2 comes with the interface and the timecode vinyl and cd? i know there is no need for the audio 10 sound card with the pioneer DJM 900 nexus so can I just buy tractor pro 2?

  • @thetechguy4711 > You'd have to get Traktor Scratch Pro 2 if you want to use the timecode. You don't need the interface if you plan on using the DJM900nexus as the mixer is Traktor certified. If you already have CDJs and simply wanted to use them as controllers without the timecode, you don't need the Scratch version of the software.

  • hi there...i have a problem right here...i'm using CDJ 900 and DJM 900 , i use time code digital but it doesn't work, i use tractor pro for s4 , can i ? or is there any setting for this ? please help....

  • @mrhallay86 > Did you follow the instructions in the video? How far did you get before you had problems?

  • Hi DeejayPulse, many thanks for the video. I have the following question: is the DJM 900 Nexus also recognized as a mixer in traktor, i. e. when chaning to mixer mode will traktor show the fader movements in the software as it does for the Traktor Kontrol S4? Similar question: How about recording: can the recording take place via the Traktor 2 recording function or is a separate recording device required? Many thanks and kind regards,

    Wolfgang

  • @wolflahmann > You could set it up as a MIDI controller, but why would you? The hardware mixer is superior to the software mixing of the internal mixer. You CAN record to the software even if using the mixer as an audio mixer (external mode)!

  • @DeejayPulse If the nexus is in a timecode setup are the effects on it still usable and are they post-fader?

  • @torryboy2 > Yes, as the timecode is sent via the soundcard and then returned pre-EQ/pre-fader.

  • Hey there i was just wondering if you can help me out with a question since this video helped me heaps, i can't seem to get the master as an ok volume while cueing it seems the master is always really quiet compared to the channel i;m cueing when listening through my head phones, i've tried adjusting the gains but unless i have the channel gains VERY low i can't seem to get a good master volume in my headphones, hope that makes sense.

    thanks lee

  • Can you use just traktor pro 2? or do you have to use scratch?

  • @jaimison220 > The Scratch edition is required to read timecode; the regular Pro version does not support timecode input, only MIDI devices.

  • @DeejayPulse Can you dumb that up for me, please? What if you have two CDJs all linked together aswell?

  • @jaimison220 > If you are using CDJs as MIDI controllers for the software (without timecode CDs), then no, you do not require the Scratch version.

  • do i have to use cdj's with the mixer, or can i just use the mixer?????????

  • @aidanrox117 > You can use just the mixer, but it's really not the optimal MIDI device for controlling Traktor.

  • @DeejayPulse kthanks

  • Hi please help, i have followed your instruction carefully but am not receiving any timecode signal?

  • @roryneill5 > Are you using CD or vinyl?

  • how about using the DJM-900nxs with two CDJ-2000 - with the CDJs in HID Mode in Traktor ... is that possible, recommended or wrong?! especially for recording sets i want to use the features of the CDJs ad also the effects of the DJM-900nxs - is this an option?

  • @dptonic > You can do that; you have a couple of options for configuration of the soundcards, but my suggestion is to use the CDJ2000's as the controllers (as setup in the wizard - WITHOUT timecode) and then after you've run the wizard, you go into the preferences and set the soundcard to be the 900nexus instead of the 2000's.

  • @DeejayPulse > thx for your help ! so this means I could use Traktors to record my set whilst I'm using the DJM900nxs for blending/effects etc that way?!

  • @dptonic Yes, you could set it up for a deck's source to be an input, run the effects on that channel then output it back to the mixer.

  • @dptonic not the right mixer for u imo.. HID in traktor with the cdjs is not that great.. alot of money to get mediocre control. go with timecode if u want to use cdjs. Its pretty tight.

As for the mixer + using traktor efx, etc. - the mixer does NOT provide any way to midi sync in a way that lets u use a stable auto detected bpm. You can only use the djm900 as a midi clock source and the bpm detection will NOT stay stable for more than half a song... CONTINUED IN NEXT REPLY -

  • @kevins212 (so imagine what happens to the sync slave when the bpm jumps from 125 to 170 in a second). The only workaround is using TAP to get the djm to hold a constant bpm. But that kinda sucks. And you cannot use traktors clock to go into the djm900 (if it could, i dont think thered be a problem with midi sync).

As for midi controls..no good imo- they should have layered it a bit to keep ur main mixer knobs functioning as a std mixer and given u some sections for midicontrol.

  • Please explain the setup and connections for 2 turntables and a DJM 900 mixer?

  • I am new to Traktor 2 and setting it up. I have 2 technics and a DJM 900 mixer. Do I need Traktor Scratch Pro 2 for Certified Mixers Upgrade or the complete Traktor Scratch Pro with an Audio Interface of 6 or 10...?

  • @OscarInOrlando > If you've got the DJM900, you don't need ANY interface (as it's built-in). You WILL need Traktor 2 (any variety), but as you note in your other post, you want to use turntables -- you'll need a Scratch version of Traktor which supports timecode input.

  • I have a denim 1600 and I run into latency problems can you

Do a video with scratching I'n the 900 and traktor to see

    Latency

  • @DjDrop1 > I presume you mean a Denon 1600 ... Sorry, I don't scratch, but I have not noticed any latency issues with the DJM900 mixer. I would suggest you check your latency settings, make adjustments to your computer or contact Native Instruments or Denon for further assistance.

  • I have done all the steps but it doesn't work in the right way....I have 2 cdj2000. Thanks 4 help

  • @faithdeejay > This is for a DJM-900 mixer -- if you don't have that mixer, you should use the steps included in my other video re: the CDJ-400 as it's very similar.

  • @DeejayPulse I have a djm-900 and cdjs-2000......I have to set HID to standard or advanced? I don't use the digital input.....I use normal RCA.

  • @faithdeejay > You would use STANDARD, currently ADVANCED is only used for Serato Scratch Live. It doesn't matter that you're using the analog inputs, but if you have CDJ-2000's and a DJM-900, why not go digital?

  • @DeejayPulse It doesn't work...=( I have to put the timecode in the cdj 2000?

  • Just to get it right. You dont need to use something like a TRAKTOR AUDIO 10 between the mixer and Turntables ? The DJM 900 Nexus will work it out for you ?

    Thanks alot for the video!

  • @ezskill > No extra audio interface required!

  • Video sobre como configurar el nuevo mixer Pioneer DJM-900 Nexus & Traktor 2 para uso con CD o Vinilo código de tiempo.

  • @Mik3Hess > Correct; you would also select the X1's in the control portion of the setup wizard. Your output for the channels you want to have Traktor send audio to the mixer would also be set to USB.

  • How would you set it up if you are not using timecode, only two X1s??? Same way just select "Post CHx Fader" instead?
