The first time I heard this in the final battle, I was afraid I was really going to lose. I mean, Sovreign was so powerful, and the Alliance was being ripped to shreds, and even as that massive fight raged behind, you had to find an undead Saren. Truly epic.

This was the perfect setting and music for the final boss. Sovereign is uplinked to the citadel, the Alliance cannot destroy him on time, and he is this close to calling over the rest of the reapers. The only thing that's between his call and the arrival of the Reapers is you and you have to do whatever it takes to stop him. This music gave a sense of urgency and it was chilling. I loved ME1, ME2 didn't have that same effect on me.

First time I played the fight (just a few hours ago, actually) I defeated him in probably less than a minute and a half (not including the interrupting cutscene of course) with only a couple gun overheats, and I never use cover anyway, I just run around really fast. So if a fairly inexperienced player like me can do that, I think an experienced player can easily do what ElectricWinds says he did.

The best part about this song is that it's a remix of Sovereign's theme, yes; but it has tones from Saren's Theme layered on top of it. That mix pretty much expresses what the final boss is.

@MrOpenGamer To be honest, I have my doubts. Those that may have died would have greatly reduced roles unless you romanced them. Look at Wrex. He may have been important to Urdnot in ME2, if he survived ME that is, but he barely does anything that impacts your mission except for giving directions.

Hopefully ME3 will have your desicions have more impact in the game. If you think of it, every character (except Liara) you could have in your party could die within the first two games. That would mean that no-one would have any real roles in the game. Obviously I doubt that BioWare would do that.

This was my favorite part of the game. I had huge health and damage,and I could just rush at the geth and they would die before I could get within melee range. One of the rare parts of the game where I could just CHAAARGE and not die. Awesomeness :D
