Thanks for this great video. I love the crackles. Now Im seriously thinking about getting a record machine/records which I've always dreamed about. Thank you. Oh...I love Sinatra..
I love my CDs and the sound is very clean, but there is joy in my heart hearing the crackles and pops of the vinyl. I so wish I still had all my vinyl, I had over 300 LPs at one time and maybe twice as many 45s, I sold and gave away all of them to get the songs on CD. If I could just go back and listen to them one more time, sigh. Thanks for this I loved it.
When I was young I used to cry when I'm not able to hear this song during saturday night. It's because it's during saturday only when the radio station played this song that's why I really wait for them to play it and they play it when it's already midnight. :)
Met Sinatra when I was 10; my Father had played with Tommy Dorsey. Sinatra said there were only 2 people he was afraid of - his mother, Dolly and Tommy Dorsey. My Dad agreed about Dorsey. I didn't even know who Sinatra was at that time. Geeez, what I putz I was, huh!
feel good song or what. i used to listen to records on the same turn table as that years ago . you turned that little flag on the end of the stylus 45 78 and that big spike that you droped the record on was so hard to get it back up to play the other side....the good old days.
AS THE SAYING GOES, "WE ARE ONLY AS OLD AS WE FEEL". WITH THAT IN MIND, IT SEEMS ONLY FITTING THAT I SHOULD SHARE THIS GREAT OLD CLASSIC WITH ALL OF YOU ON THIS VERY SPECIAL DAY OF MINE!!!
I am born in 1985 but I still appreciate this song... This will be used on my wedding this coming August 28, 2010 in our first dance... Fairy tales do come true
I have a lovely picture in my living room with torn pieces of the notes & words to this song and was glad to hear the entire song to put the pieces in the picture together.
Damn..wwhy cant i find a HQ qualtiy version on u tube... Iknow thge 'crackle" makes it sound likr 1954....but CD/ Digital really is good for something when you can hear Frank without crtackle lol

I don't know if you meant to do it, but the record skipping at the end makes this video.
As the music closes with a very soft bell, the listener hears is the rythmatic skip of the record: skip...skip...skip.
It's poignant without meaning to be; I loved it.
