with a gasoline 50 CC motor u wont climb it as fast (50 CC pretty much has the same poweroutput as 3000W electric).

(4hp, over a narrower band) - and would have been making a whole lot of noise and smoke in the process too ... at least gasoline fumes, possibly 2-stroke oil particulates, and maybe even centrifugal clutch smoke (which I got a lot of when having to climb a similar hill at that speed (lots of potholes!) on a more powerful 125cc scoot).

And anyway, it helps to view this as an alternative to a bicycle - you'd have been going half that speed at BEST under pedal power :-)
