@17GAZZANIKON Yeah but District 9 had an immense plot and under tones of political strife in Africa. Halo has some hilarious Nazi undertones, not intentional but thats why its funny. Go watch The Big Picture's episode on Halo over on the escapist website. Funny stuff.

Either way Halo is not complex, its just macho dullness. Unless they strived to put something other than a super soldier fighting against the odds it would be boring. Sorta like Reach.

You can look at films and simplify plots down to basic core elements and then expand on what they do with those core elements. District 9 is a great example. I'll admit to not reading any Halo books but I'm not blind and deaf, I saw the plot in the Halo games. The underlining themes seem accidental if you read into them, watch that escapist thing I mentioned in another comment. What exactly am I missing?

For whatever reason the story in avatar was kept very simple and so the film was dull. Yes the world was great and the characters well flushed out to an extent but it was just a little to simple and predictable. I won't watch avatar again or buy the DVD, it was just pretty and well made.

@cjsolx I've played all of them, especially one and two, a lot actually. I liked the game mechanics, was solid fun in co-op and playing the fantastic game of getting a warthog into areas it clearly should get to.

I know the plot of halo and its got little to it tbh. I mean come on as far as games go it isn't exactly immense. I found Metal Gear Solid much more enjoyable and thats a pile of steaming WTF all the way through.
