this is exactly what one must do to keep a sharp eye and a steady hand. doing this is the way to learn to see rather than just look at something and staying with the human form is the way to strut your stuff because if you can draw the human form and make it work, you can draw anything and if you can draw it you can paint it.

just draw all the time, always practice. Show your stuff to people and ask them what they think is wrong with it and work on those suggestions. That's the only way to get better PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE.

as the photographer of the piece I can ensure you that he was not tracing. What you see are a few faint lines of another drawing, completely different, that was done a prior page of the sketchbook
