My only real gripe with most of the Persona series is that it revolves around teenagers. I'm sorry, I have a hard time believing 97% of modern day, first world nation teenagers can survive by themselves in modern society - let alone go up against evil demons...etc...

Other than the bosses; I've checked out the bosses, they're not scary.
It's because of the adult themes in the game. It's a lot more mature and realistic than you'd think at first glance. I know that PEGI or whoever rates games doesn't give a shit about the maturity of the plot or the ideas conveyed, so here's why I believe it got the mature rating. Some of the personas are quite unique, like the giant phallos in a wheelbarrow. It's literally a huge cock with a mouth and tentacles riding a charriot. "Mara", is the name. There's also a very homosexual dungeon.

@anythinggoesjoe I have played and beat Final Fantasy X recently and it is a great game, i would recommend it. From what i've heard Persona 4 is awesome so I'd say just decide between Final Fantasy X and Persona 4. ( I have not played P4 yet but i intend to)

@WookhieManJoe Not less time to level up, you just need to grind that much harder. You also need to do a fair bit of grinding to find the materials needed to create new weapons, armor, and accessories. Yes people that have never played this game before: You need to find materials to make new weapons and such. You should not have too much of a problem getting enough materials to make better equipment just by playing the game.
the second time you go back to the dungeons for the mini boss its easier to skip battles by then
you can finish the game at a very low level atleast 30-40 is good enough but youll need a debilitate and a buffer to do it , also a good diverse set of Elements on Seta for every situation, :D

get a good Buffer like teddy , and for if your MC is lvl 40-46 he can get a lvl 50 or lvl 54 if you fuse a max out S link Persona you that and 2 healers :D plus Chie is a good Dmge Guy , and since the last boos or True Last Boss doesnt heal himself , youll do fine, play VERY DEFENSIVELY and youll do fine, avoid hama or Mudon skills
@Fenrirmolf i had teddie Yukiko and Kanji both Teddie and Yukiko are good healers and Teddie is a Good buffer :D but i use up all my soma's by the end boss
@WookhieManJoe soma makes it easier, i had none left cause i thought a someone else was the "last" boss^^. My problem when i did it was that teddie died too fast, also i used naoto, who on second thought now is useless as she only got that almighty attack which doesnt do much damage, but she all the other characters (besides teddie and yukiko) i never used so they were too weak. I beat the game but reloaded the save cause i wanted to fuse satan, and than beat the boss at lvl 99 only with yukiko
@WookhieManJoe but you dont keep your player level, only your compendium, so i thought i better make satan because if is do the ng+ i can only fuse him at the very end of the game, i didnt battle her either, but i will, maybe if i play it again that is
@Fenrirmolf im actually playing it again cuz i just found out you can get Kanji as Social Link friend, but trying to play the game again proves too time consuming and since ive been through hell (memories from Low Level Disputes) it kinda makes me not want to play the New Game+ :D
@WookhieManJoe i didnt even have the naoto social link up that much, i hope ng+ is easy with satan because of victory cry and megidoloan, havent started yet. i only finished the real end only like 3 months ago

@metalmayhem007 for p3p, if you play on easy and the psp version it should be pretty easy;) i havent finished p3 fes on ps2 yet (only lvl 33), but a good way is to NOT stick to one persona all the time, change as the enemy changes, before a boss try to find the weakness and check online what personas are good for that boss/weakness or resistant against the attacks

man this game really just blew my mind on everything. Great music, story, battle system, and the social link stuff was just too awesome. and this has got by far the best character developement of any game ive ever played.... yes i think its better than any of the FF games.
@Mugsi who knows. it was probably still in development when the PS3 just came out. Persona 4 was 2008, PS3 was 2006. so yeah they were probably working on it before the ps3 was even out.
@Mugsi From what I heard, the PS2 has a bigger fanbase than the PS3. Because of this, developers thought they would sell more copies of the game on the PS2 than they would on the PS3. But I think they should re-release it on the newer console with additional content or even another playable character.

Woah, there's gameplay outside of the basically empty house? XD I played the first three hours or so before deciding it was just listening to conversations while waiting for the next cutscene. I was lovein' the story, just not enough to stick with it without any gameplay tossed in. X.x Maybe I need to get back into it.

You never mentioned the replay value, only what the game involves generally. Once the games completed will there be reasons to play the game or an oppertunity to play the game further?

Woah, there's gameplay outside of the basically empty house? XD I played the first three hours or so before deciding it was just listening to conversations while waiting for the next cutscene. I was lovein' the story, just not enough to stick with it without any gameplay tossed in. X.x Maybe I need to get back into it.

if you loved persona 3 you really should try p4, its more of what made p3 so great and while ur at it u should get persona psp its awesome just like p3 or p4 but its definetly aged, but its so good you should try it anyway :)

@forestlock He means the main character in the game.. if you ask me it's just because he's in high school, and since the game was first made in Japan that's how most high schoolers wolld wear there hair, as some also have blue, red, and other shades of grey

I am a huge fan of Persona 3, I just wondered if the story line is just as dark as P3, it looks a whole bunch better than P3, I just want p4 to give me chills too lol. Thank you for posting this review!

this game looks great. Got all the good things of Persona 3 (im keep plyin it) and also a great graphic quality.
