  • @SexxyKevin put your hands behind your head in a fist then explode them upwards after blocking... you don't need to copy his form its what he's comfortable with, the technique I've explained is the correct way for gymnasts and cheer leaders making it the most popular and most comfortable to me. hope this helped

  • @Evil5partan Well the few times I have done it right, it feels as though there was some other force pushing you up and not yourself. As if you just jumped off of a trampoline or something. Before you get used to it it is really strange. When you land you're somewhat disoriented and in shock from what happened. Especially for me because I'm just starting tricking, all I can do right now is a front flip and a front handspring. Tips would be highly appreciated ^^

  • this helped alot i use to have a hard time with aerials i coud land them but just bearly after wacthing this i went out side an in a bout ten mins im doing them in my sleep now insted of me pushing off the ground it feels like the ground is pushing me up thanks for upload

    Your feet must hit the ground at a 45º angle.

  • Look if you could user more your arm to gain hieght or work on your technique. If you have a perfect form (which not much people have) you can work on your leg power to get a better impulsion.

  • Yes but a flip is best because your momentum would slowly flip you if you just used it for a jump(witch could hurt you)

  • wow man I tried this out today, I was always wondering why I couldn't get my double back around. It was a flaw in my blocking with your technique I landed it! I did it again and again and was sticking it a lot. Thanks!

  • its probably because you are weaker than most of us other trickers. Try doing like calf raises and sqauts to get your leg stronger. Its better to be well conditioned when you trick. Give it a while and you'll see the results.

  • I have never thought of it this way before. I have worked so hard to get my roundoff tuck higher and could never figure out why my body would not go very high, now this makes sense to me! thanks soooo much! I will try this next time im at the gym!

    And it`s used everywhere, even if it`s not called blocking.

    I think if you try to jump high you're blocking instinctly.

  • i play basketball with my friends that are way higher than me but we all have the same jump height just because i use blocking and they don't know it

  • Yeah, when you're taking your last step of the runup, plant that foot further forwards than you normally would and use that to drive yourself upwards more before putting a foot on the wall, instead of just running at full speed into a wall.

  • The legs always go further forwards in the direction you are travelling, so for backwards tricks yeah they go behind you.

  • Yes, it will work. Blocking just gets way amplified by the plyo flooring. So on grass, with roundoff back tuck, or other tricks that are almost entirely blocking, you will notice the least impact from blocking on grass. On plyo however you will bounce like a demon.

  • actually blocking helps even with some standing moves. When i start my standing btwist and bkicks i get my jumping leg out as far as i can. Even with just the directional throw of my body, i can still get much more height than by standing.

  • Everything you said is true, but you aren't doing much of it. For instance in your sideflip in the beginning you had some blockage going on, but most of your lift came from the bouncy floor. The way you lifted your feet up and then punched them down to make the springfloor throw you back up is completely useless outside of the gym.

    Get th block going without the first jump, THEN you will actually see the benefits of your block.
