The ironic thing about this piece of advertising is that it is for Dove, a Unilever product responsible for sexual female stereotypical advertising like for Lynx (Axe if you are american) where thin beautiful women take of their clothes and chase men with the deodorant. Dont get me wrong, this is a great ad but its like McDonalds making anti fast food commercials.
I have never used Dove products. My Mom had some Dove and I had to use the cleansing soap. It to stuck to my body! Save our other Countries moisture and moisture will be restored to our Earth!
I blame the Jews in the fashion industry for this social cancer. This is one social ill we cannot hang on the muslims. Jews are an intellectual people, but they will never be a beautiful people, so they prey on others in this way.
@nightowl8936 you are a disgusting prick. take your bigoted ass somewhere else. i blame people like you who are in the fashion industry for this social cancer. it's people like you who can cause this. fix your outlook.
Dove is only a Trademark, AXE, Rexona, Ben & Jerry's, Bertolli, Becel, BiFi, Lipton (and many many more) are trademarks too.. owned and produced by.. Unilever.. ;)
THE DEFINITION OF PRETTY!1. Trys, trys and isn't discoraged when they fail. 2. Isn't afraid to fight back, even with simple body language. 3. Is smart enough to know that mean girls are blind, deaf, stupid, and cowards for not standing up for what they believe in. 4. Understands the diference between right and wrong and has empathy. 5. Loves herself so that others can love her as well
copy and past this and thumbs up so every pretty girl is reconized
The message is correct, does not matter that they sell Axe too. The more those kinds of ads come out, the more the public is informed. Beautiful and ugly does not exist. Those are relative concepts. The media fills in those definitions.
0:47-0:50 my life ages 13-19 in the nutshell. Sad how much time I wasted trying to be what the media wants me to be. I won't let them win. All women are beautiful in their own way just as they are, no matter what shape, size, color, or age!
society's always been like this, just look at the old dove commercials. plus, axe and dove are apart of the same company, and you know how sexy Axe commercials are. id now that unilever is very contradictive
I don't get it with all the hipocrisy subject, because of AXE (Lynx). Have you seen a muscular athletic type of guy on an AXE commercial lately? It's a comical take on the whole objectification between genders. Yeah, guess what, women objectify men as well, sorry to burst your bubble ladies!
@ModusAm Yes, comercial industry is more evolved at making women feel bad about themselves then men. However men are the new focus group. So more females at this moment are affected by it. I think however that for men/boys the problem will be/is more severe to some extent because they are less likely to talk about insecurity's, it's verry taboo. Where as girls are more likely to share their insecurity's with friends.
@ModusAm I also think most men and women don't objectify that much. Girls I know tend to look more for outgoing, fun, kind looking guys, trust me if a not so attractive guy comes up to me in a bar but knows how to talk be funny, I will find him attractive because of that. And most men (correct me if I am wrong) don't wan't boney, orange or overly make-upped girls. It's just the beauty industy forcing us to think that.
@ModusAm I think the hypocritical part of the Axe commercial are the beautiful women flocking to the men, not just the men themselves. I feel like the general theme of Axe commercials is: Wear Axe and beautiful models will gang rape you.
And also, the guys on Axe commercials are definitely better looking than the average man. For sure.
@willDANCEforPENNIES ...both Axe and Dove are owned by Unilever, and while Unilever can be considered "hypocritical" and causes the need for the beauty campaign in the first place, it doesn't change the fact that the Campaign for Real Beauty is needed. Whether it is Axe or some other company these girls are being influenced by everything. While I agree that Axe type commercials are backtracking on progress, it doesn't mean its not effective. Its not like the self esteem workshops cost money...
GREAT commercial. Dont care if it's hypocrisy, im not searching for their true careness or something. Yes, it's an immoral lie but it's a welldone lie just like a story or a movie. This add is not lying about how Dove products can give me the rainbow life, like other commercials do, and that's what would be the really immoral part of making money... In this trailer there's just a good message, artistically defended. If publicity must exist and it can create art then I'm with Dove in these works!
PHOTOSHOP RULES! at least it doesnt lie about making people "appear" beautiful. I've used dove, and had better results just using water. Get over it dove, you're just as money hungry as the next person trying to make a living.
I don't understand DOVE: They sell beauty products, and then they make adds to say: "Be yourself, be natural, don't let the beauty industry change you"... euh... "Doh"...
@unregalito What's not to understand? They're trying to make money, and this is one of their projects to do so. Did you know the same company that owns dove owns Axe? Look at those commercials and then reconsider how feminist you think these guys are. .. If this had no chance of generating profit do u think dove would really give a shit?
@willDANCEforPENNIES they are also owned by a company that sells bleaching creams. the ads show depressed darker toned girls who are ignored by men, of course, until their skin is lighter. incredibly hypocritical.
@willDANCEforPENNIES It's not indoctrination when men are forced to see perfect bodies and beautiful ladies surrounding them, mainly because we know that being a fat ugly mong is just life, axe isn't gonna help and we learn to live with it, guess women need to learn that skill too...
@willDANCEforPENNIES FINALLY SOMEONE IS EDUCATED! MY god, when I tell people this, they don't believe me! this whole "beauty" thing is just a ploy for people to buy more of their shit. THAT is the truth. and if people are that stupid to think this is "real", then they are just pathetic.
They both create and then pretend to be 'mending' the media distortion of beauty standards and self esteem issues and get money of out both. Genuises.....
@willDANCEforPENNIES Probably each section is ruled by different people... and the one that owns everything doesn't actually care. So not necesarily hypocrites xd
@moepsp the point is that this company is acting like it's taking a stand against the objectification of women and supporting natural beauty, and then makes commercials where the whole premise is "use this product and you can fuck any woman you want". it makes them hard to take seriously
and if it's honestly just trying to appeal to what women and men want, don't you see how cheap their ads are? they're just appealing to your emotions, and taking advantage of them.

Eat healthy (not low calorie that is so bad for you!), love yourself and I mean personality too, and live by morals you find good.
That's what I try to achieve at least :) Respect your body, and know what it requires to run in good condition. Build your character and be friendly.
