I believe that using different fingering in different positions to produce a variety of colors, sounds, and nuances that make the piece very expressive and attractive.

I play this piece there is nothing at all unusual or "all over the place" about his fingering--for the most part it looks like he must have the same exact music I have with the same fingering and positions shifts. I think the fingerings work well for a violinist since we are working with double stops and four sharps must be taken into consideration...but you being a cellist might want to rewrite our fingering for us.

These comments did not go where they were posted..they were supposed to be under the cellist who made comments regarding his fingerings and dynamics: Also, He does indeed change his dynamics, it is difficult to hear because of the echo. He changes from F/P as indicated on the music and can be heard clearly on another video and clearly seen as well when he moves his bow from the near the bridge, closer to the fingerboard. Mr. Shaham is a MASTER violinist, he doesn't make silly mistakes
