I think it's too bad that they had to make Cookie eat cookies some of the time and healthy food most of the time, but honestly I think it's a better message for kids of this generation. If I want to see the old gluttonous Cookie I can watch old school Sesame Street. The character of a monster with voracious sugar consumption was okay in the late 60s/ early 70s when Sesame Street first came out, but back then childhood obesity was not as much of a problem.
The Proust/Lipton Questions: There are no better people/character/actors to ask than muppets. I'd rather see Lipton do that than Daniel Radcliff et al.
