  • I think you better turn your ticket iin......

  • DREW.

  • Thank you Adam for having the courage to share your heart with us.

  • Great album!!!We love it in Greece!

  • @soumoukoutroukoulou My grandfather was from Athens :) This album owns!

  • this and round here are my favs

  • Could you drop a line my way?

  • Im 20, and NONE of my friends on facebook have the counting crows as their favorite artists/bands, jesus did anyone have a childhood?

  • @wushock1991 perhaps they dont feel the need to share there favorite movies, bands, quotes and people.

  • @mordakaiiii maybe so, but they have no problem putting sublime and bob marley(love them as well) idk maybe its just where i live, i feel like im the only one who likes cc around here

  • @wushock1991 that means you would have been 2 when this came out! kudos on still listening to it!

  • @CapnJon986 honestly its because my mom was big into them back in the day, all the old songs stuck with me i don't really like the new ones

  • times This and third eye blind can listen to forever seen both

  • yeah they were pretty big when this was released. Great song.

  • Counting Crows is a band that no matter what song you hear, you know its them and you LOVE it.

  • Great channel we like it a lot

  • @TheJalza idk I'm pretty sure they are mainstream, but even so being mainstream doesn't matter if you're good. In fact I like bands better when they're unknown to everyone else but myself and a group of friends.

  • I agree have this cassette and i love every song on it,he is also soooo hot!!!

  • i love this song it makes me happy i listen to this song for hours this albulm makes my life alittle more managable

  • first single released in uk still sounds great today

  • Great CD!!

  • When I left "Omaha" with "Mr Jones" we went to a place full of "Perfect blue buildings" it was there, that we met the "Rain king" he was reading a book called "Murder of one" he looked up from his book and said "Time and time again" "Anna begins" "Raining in Baltimore". We knew it was a riddle and went off to "Sullivan street" but we had to take the "Ghost train" the Train driver told us "Round here" no one ever understands that damn King, but his music is great!

:) what did you just read?

  • @kevlarsniper1 i dunno tell me

  • For anyone who loves bands like Counting Crows, Dave Matthews Band, Sister Hazel, O.A.R etc and would like to see a return to music like we had in the 90s, please visit my band Red Dust Road at reddustroad doht com and you can download our 6 track EP for FREE. Click on our username on this post and you can hear our new single too. This isn't spam we just wanna be heard! While you're there please give us a 'like' on Facebook too - support new bands and decent, honest songwriting! Much love, RDR

  • The problem with this CD is once you listen to one song, you have to listen to the whole album! I guess I'll just have to "suffer" through it. =)

  • Don't try to talk up Omaha you liars! I live there so I know it sucks!

  • Another beautiful song, from this sweetheart of a debut record. I had this on tape cassette. nearly twenty years on and the songs are just as vital VITAL. (vital)

  • @dipstick298 I totally agree.

  • I`m 11 and I HATE rap music. This is the kind of music I LOVE!!!

  • @ZoeyAnnElise Your 11 and you really cant speak for what you like and dont because your opinion has not matured enough to actually understand what like and dislike is.

  • @obeyance ..the heck? she can totally tell the diff. if she loves this, she loves this. if she hates rap.. she hates rap. EVERYBODY has opinions, and yes, SHOCKINGLY(with all the sarcasm in the world) eleven year olds have them as well. pff 11 year olds cant speak for what they like..thats the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard!

  • Right, and since everyoen has opinions and is 100% on them... My nephew likes Mac and cheese... Then he doesnt like mac and cheese... Then he likes mac and cheese then he doesnt like mac and cheese... This can happen in a 5 min convo with him. He doenst like water. He hats water. He hats Mac and Cheese. He hates trains. He hates his mom. He hates me. He likes me. He loves and likes his mother. He likes mac and cheese. He likes Trains. He likes water.... Do you see where im going with this?

  • @obeyance well yes, i do. But then again, i don't know a person who doesn't change their minds. i just didn't understand why you were saying that she has no clue what like and dislike is, while by the looks of her comment, she does..

  • @LiteSwitch100 Your missing the point. Its more than just someone saying that they have an opinion or changing it. Its knowledge of the subject that allows one to make this decision. My nephew said he hated mac n cheese, before he even tried it. Had to practically force him to eat some and he discovered that he LOVES mac n cheese. Do you understand? This girl is 11, most likely from a middle class, white family living the dreams of suburbia. Wait till shes in high school and see what she things.

  • @obeyance Why don't you pick on someone who was alive when this album came out?! Or does it make you feel manly to demean children?

  • @chshire2020 You dont get the argument. If you did you would understand that what you said holds about as much water as a sieve. If she was alive during that time i wouldnt have said anything as she would have been at least 18 and most likely experienced the world enough to make educated statements. But an adolescent saying that they HATE something is a bit far fetched on a very large amount of things, wouldnt you think?

  • @ZoeyAnnElise Right with you, except I'm 14. The only rap song I care to listen to is Not Afraid by Eminem. Everything else that's rap is just crud to me. I found my mom's Counting Crows CD almost a year ago and haven't taken it out of my CD player since. I listen to it every night. I love their music!

  • Yeah, they definitely "Made it"........duh

  • Probably my favorite album of the past 20 years

  • TEXAS A&M AGGIES!!!

  • HOOK "EM HORNS!!

    34 trips to the CWS.

  • OMAHA!! GO COCKS! It wont be the same without you clempson

  • @tigerkill1 Hell yea GO COCKS!!!

  • Yeah ...I'm coming home som day!!

  • Yeah ...

  • CC and R.E.M. are by far the most poetic rock bands out there. Their lyrics almost need to be deciphered to understand the full meaning of the songs.

  • This band is one that gets inside your soul and plays with the strings- the memories, Adam makes it inside and strums your life to a different pace of understanding. This is my favorite song of Counting crows-- love it-- love him-- he brings me to a state of loving life and looking for reasons to believe. Thanks Man!

  • Captures childhood memories like nothing else possibly could...90s were amazing!!!

  • exactly! where is this kind of music today? such a solid album!!!

  • This is one of my all time favorite albums. In the 90s there were a few albums that I cherished. Today there is not really even one song that I like. I turn the radio on and I find myself wanting to vomit.

  • In those days music was real music... :|

"In those days spirits were brave, the stakes were high, men were real men, women were real women and small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri were real small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri."

    — Douglas Adams

  • There aren't albums like this anymore...

  • @Vertigo2903 There isn't music like this anymore.

  • No podría estar mas de acuerdo contigo

  • This was a good time in music. A really good time to be alive.

  • love it ;)

  • i am sick of people restricting the access to videos. Great song, but i would like to download it through youtube converter rather than pay for it. idiot.

  • @plebbycena Because you're special and entitled to free stuff, right?

  • The accordion is so dominant to me. It has a powerful eulogistic effect and I can't help but think of Downeaster Alexa by Billy Joel. Both songs pay beautiful tribute to a faded era of American culture- the midwest farmer and the northeastern sea captain. Storytelling like this is hard to find these days.

  • The accordion is so dominant to me. It has a powerful eulogistic effect and I can't help but think of Omaha, by the Counting Crows. Both songs pay beautiful tribute to a faded era of American culture- the midwest farmer and the northeastern sea captain. Billy Joel is another level of musical talent, but Adam Duritz is a wonderful storyteller in his own right.

  • Omaha" (Demo) is way better. Someone needs to post it.

  • @spidermonkeysoup Like i said in my second comment: I'm more of a radio and youtube girl ;)

  • im from omaha................ thank you crows

  • I don't have a 'favorite' Counting Crows song, but OMAHA is right up there, always has been...BTW I just stopped by the website for the first time in a while and came across a killer vid on there, I was floored....did Adam get sober or something? I hope so. I still luv him anyway tho, of course :=)

  • literally one of the best albums of the past 20 years, look at all the hits on it, you cant argue with that SHIT!

  • couting crows is probably one of the most under rated bands of all time, its to bad they didnt quite make it mainstream, they make timeless music.

  • @TheJalza They were friggin huge in the 90's man, id say they more than made it.

  • @TheJalza I think its awesome they didnt make it mainstream... mainstream would only criticize and under appreciate this amazing music.

  • @TheJalza Its not at all bad, maybe a shame they don't get the credit for the quality of music, but mainstream always has a way of ruining amazing music.

  • @TheJalza I just wish they didn't fall off so quickly like many bands of this era did, Wallflowers is another one for example, how can you make an album with a handful of just great songs and then fade into nothing for 10-20 years??

  • @TheJalza make it mainstream? They won an academy award... What do you have to do to be mainstream around here?

  • @jerrkawz Who WANTS mainstream? Jeez let's not share this amazing stuff with the rest of the world, they'll just butcher it in remixes

  • @jerrkawz lol to me 'mainstream' means you have to sing your name at least once in every song (your name is your brand now adays), you should stick to singing about getting drunk and having sex (and make sure to have lots of T&A in your video so kids dig it).

As far as I am concerned if the Counting Crows NEVER go 'mainstream' then they are doing EVERYTHING right :)

  • @jerrkawz They always were mainstream in my book, they probably actually put in years of hard work to do it too.

  • @TheJalza you're so right, I'm just a 17-year old boy, but CC helped me understanding some things of live.

  • @cedric11100 17-25 will be the biggest change in your life...good times

  • @TheJalza This album in particular is certified triple platinum and it's their first album. Meaning they had immense success almost immediately

    How is that not mainstream?

  • @zeebarr they accomplished their music on their own. They didn't have a successful album and produce a whole series of songs that mimicked their successful 'single hits', for one. To have a triple platinum album on your first album means simply you waited till you produced something of value. Mainstream is defined by how the band was organized. Also, this band sounds nothing like 'mainstream' alternative, or rock, or anything of that nature- making it unique- which makes it not mainstream.

  • @TheJalza I agree. It's sad, because every single song they do is awesome.

  • Enjoy like Fine Young Cannibals.

    Every song a masterpiece.

  • Love this song.....

  • just great music, now my 8 year old loves it

  • they never followed up this album very well

  • @jellobefore pretty hard feat to top this album. i don't know if they could. this album was perfect for the times when it came out. that's a tragedy of some bands. they put out there best work first.

  • @elckedifferent sorry but who are you?

  • Rarely do we have an album where we like to play everything from beginning to end. This is one of those amazing albums that you NEVER get tired of. I've worn out at least two CD's of August and Everything After over the years in my car due to constant play until I bought my third copy and a mp3 player and simply burned the album into it.

  • @obsidiansands I agree. This is such a powerful, full, real album... too bad Counting Crows became bland pop after.

But we'll always have this album.

  • @obsidiansands same here

  • @obsidiansands this is a top 3 album for me all time if not No 1....love it start to finish...saw these guys with the Wallflowers in the late 90s...awesome show~!

  • @obsidiansands i was just about 2 say the same thing! Pink Floyds dark side of the moon and The Whos tommy albums r like that 2 and a few others like neil young but i think that more my personal opinion :)

  • This song has a certain magic to it. I wouldn't say Counting Crows is a fav band of mine, though I do think they are excellent. But this song is most definitely one of my 'life' songs. It's up there on my lifetime soundtrack. Ahhh it's so soothing :)

  • The funny thing is, is that when kids get out of high school and into college then into the world this is the music they listen to and remember.

  • This album has literally all of my favorite Counting Crows' songs on it. Brilliant, I wish music was still what it was back then.

  • @DMB206 You must dig for good music as for carrots. Get a little dirty and move around. MTV isn't in business to provide good music. They're in business to make money.

  • @LastCupOSorrow Does MTV even play music anymore? I thought it was just all those stupid teen "reality" shows and other crap.

  • @1XxDragonxX1 THAT IS NOT TRUE ! They also have commercials. lol

  • @LastCupOSorrow I don't think I understand what you're saying

  • @DMB206 I was trying to be clever. MTV is all "reality" shows, commercials, and other crap, as you say.

  • @DMB206 What I'm saying is, good music won't come to US. Not on the radio, TV, anywhere. You have to look for it. Live shows, the internet, talking to people like yourself, even mailorder.

  • My wife passed in August of '04. I found my old walkman a few days later. This was the tape that was in it. Love Adam's lyrics!

  • Think you better turn your ticket in, and get your money back at the door...

  • roll a new life over

  • really nice song

  • good toon

  • i asw them in NH on The 11th epic

  • 3 people slipped and missed the like button

  • Nothing like living in Omaha...somewhere in the middle of America!!! Love this song!

  • Old School

  • Omaha Rules!

  • well i go to iowa western but a couple of my buddies from back home go to uno so im in omaha everyday

  • I love that: "I payed for this song, and..."

  • I love the Counting Crows, and I really love this song. I play(ed) the accordion myself, and I realy like to hear it in modern music like this. And, this album is one of the 3 only cd's I have ever bought. That should say something...

  • @elckedifferent tats awesome!! join my band!!! i need acordian

  • @elckedifferent its good but only 3 cd`s?? . Not something to bragg about

  • @elckedifferent only 3 cd`s ?? keep that to yourself m8

  • @awyren Not counting the cd's I got from other people. I'm just way to lazy to buy them ;) And too lazy to pop them in the cd player, I'm just more of a radio and youtube girl. :D

  • @elckedifferent You don't have to explain yourself to anyone. Good call buying this one. I don't own it, myself, but I should have.

  • @elckedifferent 3????

  • @elckedifferent Counting Crows are Awesome no doubt, but Edward Mayer uses the accordian in modern dance music! you need to broaden your horizons a bit! get some more albums and really listen to music instead of being in a room with one chord!

  • @elckedifferent well im not sure about that, considering your name -> ....different!!?!!

  • @elckedifferent Nothing wrong with being different..don'e ever let em tell you otherwise ;)

  • @elckedifferent if i could only pick 3 cds this might actually make it, the whole album was great, one of the defining albums in my teen years

  • Comment removed

  • @elckedifferent that only says that you usually steal music

  • love it

  • Yeah they sure love karaoke here. Go Big Red.

  • i used to think they said 'oh my heart'...

  • you used to be wrong.

  • i used to cry to this ;)

  • yo i've tried to leave a comment like 20 times but it hasn't worked... whatever. but yeah i'm 15 too and love the C. Crows. keep on

  • being from here i makes me feel a kind of happiness that cant be explaind in words
