This is hands down my favorite ballad written by Epica! 1) The music is top notch! Love how Epica just made this song so heavily strong on the Symphonic-ness of this song, that's the main reason why I love Epica in the first place. 2) Roy Khan, one of my top favorite male singers, is guest performing in this song with the amazing Simone Simons! I mean c'mon what more can I ask for!? =]

Simone and Khan do sound great in this, but I wish Simone would sing an octave lower. That high pitched shit doesn't work well for the lower octave classical stuff. I like the instrumental version better. It's a little bit different, and I don't think classical music should have vocals. Her voice works well in normal ballads and the Epica stuff with guitars, but this is too classical oriented to sound as good with vocals imo. Search Trois Vierges reprised on here and tell me what you think.

Don't get me wrong, this song is great! These two singers are, in my opinion, the best out there. However, this song doesn't showcase their vocal talents, or sound as great, as the songs they sing together in that are written by Kamelot. The Haunting, Poetry for the Poisoned, and Season's End are just a few songs in which these two singers truely sound amazing.

If you take a look at any other videos of ex Kamelot or avantasia etc, you will see that most people consider him to have a great voice. Watch Kamelot - Elizabeth live. If you still think he can't sing, i'd say you're deaf, Sir.
