  • i cant view the vid for some reason

  • @Akkesama That's weird. It was just working but now it won't load for me either. Maybe Youtube is having a glitch again :-\. I'd send it to you but I don't have it on my computer anymore. sorry. I'll contact youtube and let them know that it's not working

  • @christina1m okay i've tried to watch this video a long time ago and it worked eventually, but its still not working this time :(

  • I honestly think this song means that the aborted fetus is free from the pains of life, it was lucky to escape the miserable time on earth but the mother would still love to have the child yet either her lover or parents of the woman denied her of having the baby.

  • Thanks for this video :D

  • This is an anti-abortion video. The translation of the lyrics makes so much more sense with the video!

At the beginning when they're talking about the graffiti. I think that the "stupid word" is "Whore" or "Slut"

In the video Yulia is pregnant, so people call her a slut even though she isn't, Lena is a prostitute, so it's nothing new to her.

But Yulia is the one who gets executed, ironically by the real whore. It's the guilty executing the innocent.

And that's what abortion is, isn't it?

  • seeing this direct translation makes so much more sense as to why the song is caled white robe

  • if you try thinking deeper you'll see what russian and english versions very similar... no point for arguing

  • I sketch by black paint on the wall of [tupoe] word. It is not important for me. It not is new for you. For me it in vain. It is necessary for you. I sketch by black paint. I sketch curved- curvedly

THOSE are the LITTERAL translation of the lyrics....

now stop arguing like children and enjoy

  • lol for the most part she has them correct. They are a little off, but other then that it was lovely. I know this because I AM russian xD

  • and

this song doesn't say everything they

want to say you have to listen to the whole

    album

yulia isn't who she act as

    not lena either.

and the song was created by the fans

not them , the fans were to see it from

yulia and lena's point of view.

  • @xemeh How could fans create the song, if it is on t.A.T.u. album and Yulia and Lena are acting in the video for the song. Don't be stupid please. The used the whole album to show the world what kind of evil has on this world, which all of us created by ourselfes... sadly, it's bitter truth...

  • @andrijana1991 It was a poem written by one of the fans on the official forum. Tatu's team turned the poem into a song so actually it was created by a fan.

  • there are many different translations for the words sentences and phrases for russian that is she is partially correct but I learn more than one but very good job considering your not Russian are you >o< ?
  • That is the fucking reason there is

    Russki version

    And English version

    Russian is more better.

  • thank you for doing a direct translation <3

  • I'm not going to comment, mostly because I'm a polyglot and I find this completely stupid, but for future reference, try actually translating it correctly...

  • @LadyArkalya I'm not going to comment... yet you do? ok those are the word for word translations of the RUSSIAN version of the song. Not the English version of song. They have the same background music and same vocal arangements but totally different lyrics. Did you not read the beginning of the video or the video discription?

  • @christina1m Yes! I did read it actually, and honestly that wasted about...2minutes of my life?

  • @LadyArkalya well I did not force you to watch it so don't get bitchy with me for waisting 2 minutes of your life. Those are the correct lyrics. if you are so sure they are not then pick a line out and tell me the *right lyrics* but if the lyric you send me is from the english version I have already told you that the lyrics are not the same in the english as they are in the russian.

  • @christina1m I am fully aware that these are not the same as they are in the original english version, though the title says "Correctly". They are correct in *Russian* language translation, though, they are not when it comes to the original video were they are speaking english. I feel the title is a tad deciveing.

  • @LadyArkalya I don't see how that is deciveing. Say you were taking a russian class and the teacher told you to translate the sentence "Пуля в сердце" Translated the word 'Пуля' means 'bullet' & 'сердце' means 'heart'. If you were to give the teacher any other words you would be marked as wrong. I translated the lyrics correctly. The words that you hear are correctly translated to English words.

  • @Christina1m It should be "Correct Russian --> English translation Lyrics, rather than "CORRECT LYRICS". No, they are Correct when translated from Russian *As I have said before* not only would this save you many, flaming and spamming posts, this would make more sense when you take the original *english* lyrics, and match it with this.:)

  • @LadyArkalya now you just wasted 2 minutes of my life with your ridiculous bitching about nothing. If you want to grumble then post your own damn videos.

  • @LadyArkalya Simply because you were far too busy exercising the art of bigotry to understand the meaning of "(Beily Plashick) SUBTITLED ENGLISH" title doesn't mean it's "a tad deceiving" to those who are competent enough to get it. Even if it was, no one's going to flip their skirt about a title being "just a tad deceiving" if they were able to "get it" after watching the video. "I'm not going to comment, but because..." <~ Epic Fail FTW.

  • thank you so much for translation. i remember watching another when the PV first came out; so when the english version came out and was very different i was appalled. sometimes the english version of their songs are quite good i do think but sometimes it is so different it just doesn't have the same meaning any more. ;A;

  • I just want to say...I love you and all your incredible t.A.T.u. collectible vids from over the years. This is awesome...I always love the Russian versions better (and I'm from U.S.!) Too bad you have to fight SO hard to explain to people that English is NOT the #1 gold-standard of all time (and therefore the English version is not "the words"...you know what I mean). It is too bad people cannot appreciate art within its cultural context! t.A.T.u.was a Russian group, people!

  • My friend and I slept over her house and and she speaks fluent russian, she was looking through my ipod and found russian TATU songs. So we listened to them and her and her mom translated it. Then we listened to the English version and my friend was laughing because they just got the essence of the song, the lyrics made no sense. I like the russian translation better than the English version. GOOD JOB. This was what they got when they translated this.

  • spassima for your last clips

  • I have just one question: In your opinion (or to your knowledge) Why do you suppose that Lena says "Ready, Aim, Fire!" in English (when this is the Russian version of the vid/song)?!

  • @IloveyouLenaKatina i wonder this too; there is english on the wall to where they are. so is the facility/setting where this takes place in the us/uk (of you knwo another eng speaking country)? is it a message to all or to english speaking countries directly? makes me wonder who has the highest abortion rate in the world...

  • @soguhn Well, I know they shot the video in U.S., although they could have changed the sign. I never put that together with Lena's "ready, aim, fire!" Maybe they were just trying to make their lives easier in the filming, because the knew they were making an English version. I don't think they are specifying a specific country for their message. They have commented in interviews that many young people in Russia are often irresponsible. Also, Yulia had an abortion in her young teens.

  • did you read what I put at the begining ? They are the right lyrics. Not of the english version but these are the actual translation of the russian words from the russian lyrics. I am correct

  • translation kinda off,

  • I wonder what is that dumb word on the wall?

  • Did you know that this song was originally a poem written by a teenage girl? It's really cool.

  • inspiration to learn different languages i dig it yea

  • at 1:56 when she says: maybe you fool me around. Does that mean fooling like your trying to fool me? or fool around like in English when people talk about sex?

  • It means like lying. Going around the truth , or not saying the whole truth

  • I read on the official site that this song was made three poems put together by Maria Maksakova.

  • The correct translation should be on the tatu website...

  • This is the correct translation. Read before the video when i freeze frome it. or read the video information on the top right of this page. It is the correct literal translation. I know it is not the lyrics to the english version of White Robe but it is the exact russian to english translation to Beliy Plaschik.

  • I've read it. I just said that this may not be the correct one, as the one on the official t.A.T.u site is different.

  • LOL I just noticed my very old comment and I saw I wrote absorption instead of abortion xD

    LOL LOL LOL LOL

  • yes it is read before the video when i freeze frome it. or read the video information on the top right of this page. It is the correct literal translation. I know it is not the lyrics to the english version of White Robe but it is the exact russian to english translation to Beliy Plaschik

  • Well...looking at the English side by side, the meanings (at least for this song) are somewhat similar. The English is just much more vague. I think to get the English versions of t.A.T.u.'s songs, you have to know the original Russian meanings. The English v. is a lot more powerful to me now that I know the original Russian translation.

  • LATE pardon was given..wahaha...NICE VID anyway....

  • I'm pro-choice, but I still love this song and music video

  • is this the right lyrics

  • yes

  • where is their movie?!!

  • its about fascism in usa.

  • I agree with TATU. Abortion is horrible and wrong. If you don't want the kid don't get it or if your going to be a slut then do adoption or something. Abortion is murdering a child... Pure and simple as that. I understand the song and I know their point.

  • You aren't agreeing with tatu! Yulia Volkova had an abortion. She doesn't regret it. She did it so she could have her career with Lena. She was like 15 at the time but, i recommend you watch anatomy of tatu.

  • I change it then. I hate abortion. I don't think it should happen but anyway how would you know what its about anyway unless you spoke personaly to them? Don't yell at me because I make a mistake. You make them too.

  • and seriously, the video isn't even about abortion. Its about violence in the system

  • well maybe we can all agree that it has different meanings to different people

  • yeah, you're right, we all have personal interpretations.. i can see that no matter what position a person has, he/she can be way worse that the person he/she is judging. :)

  • What if a girl got raped?

It's not her fault for getting pregnant if she got raped.

    Think of that,

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • The first line is "I draw with black paint" not "I draw a black line"

  • I think is cruel ... every kid has access to this video

though the lyrics are beautiful :) thanks for the translation !

I won't watch it again :P but I'll listen to the song cause I like it :D

  • Why was the english translation so off?

  • :(

i think the basis of this around abortion's pretty lame D:

  • the words are beautiful!

  • Wow. I dont know russian, but suddenly the repeating syllables make sense. :) Thanks!

  • I almost cryed, but I held it back

  • their so hot.

  • sounds like belly project for some reason lol

  • This song made me cry exspecialy at the end. I lost my daughter do to ppls stupidity. I like the interp. about the law and abor. i think it has some to do with ppl that work with in the law not seeing everything the way the law dose casue she looks away almost sadly.

  • i thought that this song was ment to be about abortions i.e thats why yulya looks pregnant

  • that's because she is pregnant... or was...she had the baby!

  • yulya was pregnant at the time

  • you have a few mistakes :o

the first verse should be "I draw with black paint".

"for me it's wrong" -> "for me it's in vain"

    "i draw a curved curve" -> "i draw distortedly"

"the soul in the sky" -> "the soul to the sky" :)

  • actually its not i draw a black line its

I draw with black paint on a wall ...............

  • I am SOO happy you did this!! I knew that the Russian to English transaltion would be different from the English version, I just didn't know how much! The English version lyrics were actually a bit confusing (not your translations, the real one, lol), this makes much more sense and is much more intense and heartening. I think that the English version has the lyrics different than the translation is so that the two songs have the same sound, or at least that's how it seemed to me. Thanks!

  • this video almost made me cry expecially at the end

  • i dont rly like the english lyrics compared to these...there not as .... i guess impactful is the word

  • for the way i take it, its about the death penalty and how they can kill those who are innocent by doing so, and how that makes them just as much as murderers as the next criminal. So at the end they're about to kill her [and not only are they killing an innocent but their taking another life too, the baby] but when they do, theres a call [the ringing] to cancel, but it was just a little to late. So they killed an innocent, and it was too late to do anything about it. I think. lol Love it anyway

  • *add* i just thought about it, and i think its a mix between that and abortions mixed all in one vid/song. Because their killing the baby, and Yulia did have the child, and kept it. So abortions, murder, and the law is pretty much how i see it.

  • That's a fairly cool interpretation, I'd go with that.

  • I totally agree with you. I think thats exactly what this is about

  • @xXDomUniqueXx Did you read the info bar...it is Lena's quote about what the vid/song is about.

  • Foarte puternic sociale comentariu cu privire la moarte, viaţa avort, crimă, ucidere nevinovăţie şi uciderea pentru cele alegeri în viaţă foarte bună transulation.

  • I think it means that because yulia was pregnant she may have been a prostitute or was just someone who was just pregnant and they thought she was a prostitute and lena is actually a prostitue (begining) and at the end of the day shes a executioner and when the song says the halos and the wing we put on shes saying why are u exicuting the inocent when ur guilty!!

  • you know what, it does make some sense of the video. We don't really know the truth but I like the way how it sounds.

  • i know..sorry^^...still I think it's against murder..^^

  • It's not ABSORPTION people. I's Abortion.

    Shit.

  • lol...absorption XD

  • LMAO xD

  • love the song and thank god for subtitles you did an amazing video

  • yes this is the correct translation, except for one phrase.

"I draw a black line" - she doesn't say that, what she does say is "I draw with black paint".

=] but nice video and great job with translating it.

  • expression "for me it's wrong" to "for me, it's useless". about "I draw with black paint": we've undefined moment here -- probably, more exactly is "I'm drawing with black paint";-)

  • I believe you about the lyrics but for me it sounds more like it's against murder not absorption...

  • im guessing they r claiming those r the same thing

  • This is about when one of them got pregnant, and seeing how this is a gay band getting pregnant is kind of not gay.

  • NA!! That's where I dare to contradict you 'cause that wouldn't make sense to me....ever thought about the possibility that they were bisexual?

  • oh...if those lyrics were the true russian translation - why does the one they sing in english not match your lyrics?

  • Unless you don't speak Russian, please shut up.They changed the words of a song for a english version to make it sound better.

  • Thank you so much. I can only say that 500 times and freeze frame me saying it at the begining of this video lol

  • translation from one to another lang erases rhymes &, for more simple work, people make another text with same sound -- it's popular approach for pop music;-)

  • I don't get why its against abortion...only because they shoot a heavily pregnant woman...if its to show against it, why shoot a heavily pregnant woman?

  • Comment removed

  • You can get this song in english...its called white robe..search it if you want to hear the english version..it makes sence

  • WHAT IN THE H*LL DOES THIS SONG MEAN (srry for the caps i am just so confused about what it means)

  • yh but its not the hole video but nice one anyways

  • the song it´s been writed by a fan.. really

i think that one fan is the same fan.. hmm

that mischa barton plays in the movie..´cause in the movie she write a song,,, (or something like that) and janie upload in youtube.,.. they kill the jeanie´s mom.. it can tell us the real mean of the lyrics.. ?¿?¿ =X what do u think¿?¿

  • russian always sounds soooooo cool. like german and french mixed together. thanks for the translation

  • Ma voi mai intelegeti ceva? ce pula mea aste se dezbraca la peleu' gol

  • They still do love eachother and they always say that even in interviews of 2day....they said in a interview that they where not playing them self in this video...and they are still very close friends and do love eatchother...watch there 2008 show called tatu life....

  • what is the significance of the white robe?

  • 'becoming an angel'

    'a hospital robe'

    'new life, ending life'

all that and more I suppose

  • I think the song is about innocent people being killed.

White robe is likely an allegory for the spirits of innocent people.

  • you didn't get it word for word, but was basically correct, you just worded it a bit differently. good job!

  • I mean stop the execution

  • I read some where the phone rings at the end because it was a call to cancel the execution, but it was seconds too late.

  • i like all the video but i don't understand the ending?

  • Why didnt it get translated literaly? it works in english...

  • love love love extremely this vid and 10x u very very much for the translation it really helped to understand this vid i just love those girls so much they're awesome love yulia so much this is one of my favorite vids

  • Thanx a lot for this translation.I see it in a different way: To me, it symbolizes the destruction of everything feminine(the fact that she is pregnant when she is shot.) Like how in today's modern world, how domestic life is seen as unimportant. And I am not only talking about women, I am talking about feminine as a symbol, like how if someone is quiet and unable to defend themselves well and want peace, that is taken as a sign of weakness.

  • Thank you SOOO much.x

But in the video, why does like a phone ring at the end?

    Or is that just random?

    Reply please.

  • It is the pardon call. The only time a phone will ring in a execution room is when the prosioner is found innocent. It is the call that says "stop" but it came too late so it was as if Lena murdered Yulia and the unborn baby. It is a metaphor kind of. Killing innocent babies abortion thing ;) hope that helped

  • Thanks, that does help a lot.

Now I understand how Lena's quote is linked to the video.

  • omg i love the videoo!!! :D

    end i lovee theeeeeeeeeemmm

    O,,O

  • I think the song's about abortion...

  • is it just me or are lyrics from other countries always 10X more deep and symbolic than American lyrics? American music kinda sucks. thank you though. I understand it a little better with the translation.

  • i dont get this video, or the song? someone please explain?

  • theres some remnants of the translated words in the english version. I like the russion songs better though because they have more meaning.

  • curved curve ))))))))))) держите меня, сейчас умру)))))

не беритесь, если не можете, и не знаете особенностей ОБОИХ языков

  • Мне? Я знаю разницу

  • There're neither 'a' or 'the' in russian language- istead they're saying 'this' or 'that', or nothing at all.

  • Suka! He fucking translated it from the RUSSIAN version. Go back to elementary school you dumbshit.

  • lol thank you. ps i'm a she ;) but it's ok =P

  • XD I like the russian curse words better than english. A friend that is Russian x German told me there are 50... O_O Then he said there might be more.

  • Ok let me try to explain this. The russian verson has different words then the english one. When you translate the english version into russian it does not sound like this. They are different words with different meanings. Like in the english SONG they say "Flying bullets hit the targets." Translated to russian those EXACT words are "Polet Puli popaly V tsel" do u hear that in this version? No. Here they say "Bullet Serdtse" exactly translated to English is "Bullet Heart" or "bullet in heart"

  • You girl, don´t worry, it´s just

    that there´s stupid people who

    don´t undersand what you are

    trying to explain us, anyway...

you did a really good job

  • Not exactly, because A) The producers fixed the english version like that and B) I study language, and even in Japanese, if you were to translate seagull into japanese, kagome, then back to english, it would then turn into japanese bamboo pattern. There are so many different ways to translate something, there really is no way to know for sure unless you speak Russian.

  • no, t.A.T.u never has the same words when they re-write it for the english version. this is the same for every t.A.T.u song.....

  • Wow it must have taken you a while to do that. The translation. I've been meaning to do it for awhile but I never get around to it. Great Job!

  • the subtititles are wronge

  • Oh My god are you kidding me. I know people wern't reading it in the info box but I thought when I put it on the actual video people might read it. These are the ENGLISH translations to the RUSSIAN version of the song. They are correct

  • LOL you don't speak Russian so STFU

  • @AvRilfanz24: It's about abortion.

  • I'm drawing with a black paint/stupid word on a wall/For me it's [this word] not important/for you it's not new/For me it's useless/for you it's necessity/i'm drawing with a black paint/i'm drawing sloppy-sloppy/bullet into hear/brain on a door/halos, wings we're putting on ourselves/little white robe/soul into heaven/we'll put into a box [casket]/we're letting it go---------------------------those are CORRECT LYRICS, I'm Russian

  • спасибо Большое =)

  • Thank you very much.

This translation was most meaningful and amazing =D

  • this isnt thw right words

  • But does nobody read the video information box. Yes it is the right lyrics. Every time tatu do English and Russian versions of their songs the background is the same but the lyrics are different and sometimes have different meanings. They never have word for word or even the same meaning to their translated songs. Trust me that is what they are saying in the Russian version of the song.

  • lol poor you, christina. i am writing a project on this very idea - the translations being different their songs, and what the cultural implications of this are... so i know how frustrated you must be... excellent translation, btw.

  • hah. America censors the video more than the Russians do, yet they are the land of "Freedom" and Russia is a messed up socialist state. Irony :P

  • hey, closedgl! i have an odd question for you... can i quote your comment in a project i am doing? it's just for grad school, i'm not planning on publishing it (but if it ends up in my dissertation, will you be upset? i am writing my dissertation on t.a.t.u. and post-soviet pop culture)... so, may i have permission to quote you? i can either do it anonymously, or using your user name... SVP?

  • hey go ahead why not. anonymous please. also, if i add you as a friend could you send me this dissertation once it's finished? i would very much like to read this.

  • The uncensored version's better, with all the people watching the execution and ... Lena naked xD

  • lol i agree. but i posted this before tha uncensored video came out.. see the post date

  • Ok, I'm thinking this song has to be about abortion. I would never have guessed that from the video, or the song without that clue, but it clicks into place once you have that little interpretive angle. Especially at the end, where the phone rings in the video - the reprieve that comes too late, after you can change your mind. Not that that's in the song, but lines like "we put it in a box", the "soul in the sky", and even putting on the white robe after a "bullet to the heart". feels right

  • mmmm about abortion¿¿

    GOOD

    hehee

i like the video =) and the music

even when i don't understand so much =)

  • can someone please give a citation for the interview in which lena made the comment about beliy plashik being against abortion?

(i'd like to see the comment for my research - i'm not disputing whether or not she said it).

    thanks!

  • Mariya Ahmedova / Russkiy Reporter

  • thank you!

  • some kind of message that abortion is hummacide.

  • ok.. i speak spanish... i'm learning english... but really i don't understand what they are saying is so difficult... and the video too..!! pleease tell meee
