Who exactly was it that gave money to the banks and insurance co's? That was us, wasn't it (through our govt.)? These guys want nothing to do with banks or ins co's. They just want to own them. If they own them they won't be the cheating, lying MF's they are now, they'll be the Government. The Govt will raise the bar on cheating and lying. They come up with a new way to screw you at least 10 times a day! Who are the brain dead people who actually believe in the Govt?
Hopefully this is a start of getting some people of the people for the people in office that represent their constituents not the corporate & special interest groups that feed them bags of money
I would suggest that we need people like us to start challenging the incumbent robotoids in the primaries. Third parties never do well for a variety of reasons. Retake the parties, run ourselves against the fakes of both parties
a min he says a vote for brown would be against health care and against bank reform both of which obama is pushing and then he says the vote in MAss has nothing to do with obama.
Brown specificlaly said he was against both. We all know what happens. Loser Libs. I hope they next election makes unemployement got up 1% just by the number of liberals and their support staff that lose their jobs.
Washington (CNN) -- Only a third of U.S. voters think members of Congress deserve to be re-elected this year, according to a new national poll. That's the lowest number ever recorded for that question in a CNN poll.
If your old enough to remember 94 you know what's happening here. Clinton got elected promising middle class tax cuts then passed the biggest tax hike ever. The public got pissed and threw the congress out at the next election. Clinton lost the house and senate to GOP. déjà vu?
I did forget the wars! I heard Gibbs yesterday trying to take credit for the war in Iraq going good! LOL too funny! After they fought sooooo hard against the surge saying it wouldn't work. Now everyone agrees it worked. I worry about Afghanistan. saw a video from General Petraeus from early 2009 saying a Iraq type surge would not work in Afghanistan then a few months later Obama announced the surge. Now Petraeus doesn't talk like that anymore. I'll post the link if you want it.
@retardUtube sure thing. I love how this whole administration takes credit for stuff they don't do and push blame from stuff they actually do. Also, I love how Obama points his finger at Republicans for "not reaching compromises" but then there's a bipartisan for of the job creation bill that Republicans are all for and Reid looks at it and goes, "No, that doesn't work" and changes a lot of it. Sounds to me like Democrats need to look in a mirror more often.
Okay, that guy needs to stop slanting it so much. Insurance industries taking a hit will affect a lot of the American people too! Besides, capitalism works BEST when there is no interference from the government.
@rfrantzt EVERYTHING has it's exceptions, and letting the market just go reaches it's exception when PEOPLE are being traded and sold. You don't understand this, you're a numb-skull. Yes, some states wanted to trade people, but others didn't. And there was a moral obligation to force a change.
Capitalism should NOT have limits or exceptions. Capitalism should go as far as we can take it.
The strong should always capitalize on those who are less strong, and I don't want the government to interfere with it. Health insurance companies are FREE MARKET. They should do whatever is necessary to make profits without government intervention.
First off to the the Ms who asked the initial questions - You are hot (my bad), and secondly how come there are no woman like you in Mass... It would be refreshing to be with someone who shared my beliefs. Anyway, I did my small part in voting SB in, and I am hopeful the USA will follow in 2012.
Stubborn liberal Obama still pursues his unpopular, costly healthcare reform even after the people of Massachusetts spoke against it. And he never wants to enforce immigration laws so illegal immigrants can keep receiving welfare and healthcare benefits like Obama's aunt Zeituni Onyango, an illegal immigrant from Kenya. In fact, Obama, with his immigration reform, wants to naturalize twelve million illegal immigrants so they can get healthcare insurance and vote for his Democratic Party.
Sooooo. Palin is supporting McCain over his 'pure' [ to use his own words] conservative opponent in the upcoming Arizona senate race. I wonder what the right wing media Idiocracy, for whom she has been a pin up girl, will make of this?
I doubt she'll run. She fucked up by quitting on Alaska. People don't want to trust a quitter. But it was great decision for her wallet. She's made a fortune and still is. She sure angers the left. They must still consider her a serious threat.
Most liberals I know find Palin an ideal candidate for 2102 [ Bush in drag, only not quite as eloquent]. For a time, like you, I doubted she'd run, preferring the money and the celebrity. Her decision to support McCain in the upcoming senate race [ instead of supporting the Tea Bagger] indicates to me she is kowtowing to the GOP establishment for one reason and one reason only; she believes the Jesus has called upon her to lead us into the light.
Haahaa! Bush in drag. Good one. You know that is actually pretty accurate. I don't know if Jesus has that much to do with it but McCain seems to have been a good meal ticket for her so far.
Anyone who has been following politics for the past few decades well knows the evangelical right has a remarkable amount of unfluence in the GOP party platfom and the candidates they choose run. McCain badly wanted Lieberman as his VP but soon understood the evangeliclas would stay home if he did. The result; Sarah Palin, the most cognitively challenged in our history, could have been a heart beat away from the presidency.
I cannot understand how he is allowed to ruin this country. People wanted change, but not this kinda change. He is out to ruin this country and is doing a great job at lying to Americans. What a fraud, Impeach him now, Arrest him now
Obama made his positions clear during the campaign, and tested them against Clinton and McCain. These ideas included serious health care reform and a more intelligent approach to foreign policy and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, relief for middle class taxpayers [done] college kids strugggling with student loans [done] and homebuyers [ done]. American voters compared Obamas policy proposals vs those of McCain/Palin and decided, by a good margin, to reject the latter.
The 'proto-type' you referred to in Massachusettes was in place when Obama carried 62 percent of the vote there. And here it must be mentioned that one of the reasons Coakley, who ran a lazy, abysmal campaign [ expecting a coronation] lost was that progressives [ those crazy college kids pursuing higher education , for example] in Mass sat on their hands becuase the public option, the single most important mechanism re cost control, had been jettisoned.
are you sure that you don't believe like obama that the folks of mass were voting against the last 8 years. the voters of mass were so angry with bush that they elected a republican. i
health care was not on the foreground of the election, you know this, and you also know that voters--NOT ME--that voters really did believe in gas bag barry.
A recent survey of 2000 small business employees enrolled in health plans indicated they will pay annual premiums of 1,000 or more. Twice the number in 2007. Simultaneusly, these palns have become progressively les generous and more likely to include dductibles. A major business lobby, concerned about what these costs do to competitveness, reported that the average cost in ten years will rise to 28,530.
Since 1999 health insurance premiums for families rose 131 percent [ inflation = 28 percent]. Overall, US health care costs are expected to be 2.6 trillion, or 17 percent of the economy. At the current [ status quo] trajectory, health care costs will rise 166 percent in the next decade, which will push costs as a percentage of the economy to well over 20 percent. This is what we are facing if we accept the GOPs do nothing, let em' eat cake 'philosophy'.
the "let em eat cake philosophy" if anywhere comes from the left. what else would you call a cabal of politicians that pass one health care bill in the middle of the night for "the people" and have another plan just for themselves?
the rise in cost is a result of state mandates and fed regulations. is there a reason the 1100 health insurance providers can't be sold in all 50 states?
If you have information about a detailed and comprehensive health care reform bill floated by the GOP please let me know. What is irrefutable is that the GOP did absolutely nothing about reform while they held power and health care costs doubled. They also, in league with the powerful for profit health care lobby, went to great lengths to defeat Clintons reform bills. This perfectly qualifies them as obstructionists.
i would hope that the gop did obstruct the health bill. that was all they could do. governments intrusion into health care in the first place, leads us to this second place of beaurocraciy and rising cost. why would the answer to be more government.
it's counter logic. how about we try LESS government.
the "health care for profit lobby" stood with obama on this one and what about their "obscene profits"?
health insurance companies profit avg. was LESS then 3%. 3%! (fortune)
He's Republican and just like Bush. Now tell me, do you want Bush back in office? That's exactly what you're getting. Now watch as our economy gets its final blow to hell as Bush sent him to finish off the toilet of our economy he made it during his presidency.
There is no GOP plan for health care reform on the table. No surprise, as when they were in power they did absolutely nothing about the sky-rocketing costs or the suffering and death of the unisured [ 40,000 a year die via the absence of coverage] They understand that it is much easier to be obstructionist re a complex issue than to promote or defend a complex issue in the era of 24 hour cable news sloganeering.
Obamas failure to push through health care reform via reconcilaition [ a simple majority vs a fillibuster proof 60 vote majority], which conservatives these days are insisting is undemocratic, defies logic and ignores history. Reagan used the mechanism 8 times, Bush I twice and Bush II 4 times. It was also used during the Clinton administration.
I think your missing the point molloy. It's not Obama's fault that the democrats in the house of representatives don't want to follow obama off a cliff. Those democrats need to get reelected. The public has turned against the worthless plan they came up with. So they are just covering their own asses. Like Obama said the other day in Ohio, " I could sit here and do nothing and the polls would go up" I think those democrats might be following that advice.
Blue dogs in the house and senate have certainly been gutless on the matter [ part of the price you pay for a big tent]. I am not concerned with their political careers or any kind of appeasement on the matter. I do care about serious minded health care reform and Obama and his advisors made a drastic mistake by declining the reconcilaition option. Not long ago the GOP wheeled Cheney out of his bunker to break a 50-50 tie for gods sakes. Imagine the noise if Biden were perform the same function
@molloyxx1, just to make sure you know your history. Reconciliation is a legislative process intended to allow consideration of a contentious budget bill without the threat of filibuster.
Reconciliation has nothing to do with passing a NEW Bill.
Reconciliation would push much, but not all, of the health care reform bill through per attached conditions to using the measure. It would not include forcing for profit insurance providers to stop denying coverage to the very ill or those w/ pre-existing conditions but these are the most popular aspects of the bill and the most difficult for the obstructionists to grotesquely distort. The health care bill IS contentious precisely because of its projected budget.
But not all? Best I know is you can't pass parts of a Bill. it's all or nothing. And again Reconciliation has nothing to do with passing a NEW Bill. Reconciliation is only possible for Bills that are already Law.
No, my position is Reconciliation has nothing to do with passing a NEW Bill, and it cannot be used to PASS a NEW Bill into Law. Reconciliation can only be used to modify a budget Bill that already has been Law.
As you mentioned Reagan used it but they were all on Budget Bills that were already in existance. He never used it to pass a new Bill into Law.
This is not the first time I have seen the 36 trillion figure re how much Medicare is in the red. What you neglected, incredibly to mention, is that this is the projected cost.....SEVENTY FIVE YEARS FROM NOW, for the year 2085, when the financial elites will be vacationing on Mars and a beer will likely cost more than a small car. Intellectual dishonesty of the highest order.
that[s entirely incorrect. medicare goes belly up in, i believe, it's 2016 now, the 36 trillion is in unfunded obligations payable to recipients over the span of X amount of years. there isn't 36 trillion in one lump sum due in 2085. i'm not going to suggest that you are being dishonest, but you are mistaken.
@molloy Speaking of abortion and evangelicals, I noticed that every presidential election they drag that abortion issue out of the closet to try to divide people. There is already existing law on abortion. I'm not interested in the candidates personal view on it. It looked like Molloy was trying to use it here to divide people. Lets worry about jobs and who has the ideas to get everyone working without breaking the bank.
I don't consider knee jerk obstructionism an idea. The GOP does not give a sweet shit about health care reform and never has and their track record proves it. As for hard core evangelicals, they have been the most active and vocal element of the GOP base for decades and will never support anyone who does not adhere to their visions of a theocracy. [McCain wanted his buddy Lieberman as VP, the evangelicals made it clear this meant they would all stay home].
well you just lost all credibility then. How do you explain his win in Massachusetts then if republicans won't vote for him. LOL He got the base out and the center. Try again. I'm a republican and I like McCain and Lieberman. the center can replace the evangelicals if they don't want to look at the bigger picture.
Very simple. There is probably no state in the union with a lower percentage of evangelicals than Mass [ perhaps Vermont]. This did not stop Republicans,Romney and William Weld, from winning the governorship. Moreover, Mass has a higher percentage of independents than Reps or Democrats, making it, in a variety of ways, an anomaly.
hmmmm interesting. well I guess we'll find out someday down the road should it ever turn into a national race. Who knows what the makeup of party's state to state will be then after Obama is done stirring the pot. You know there may be a huge amount of independents then all over america when they see how far left the party took them! LOL
I'll say this, if your black, you should be a mad mother fucker right about now at Obama and his administration. Obama has set back race relations and confidence in black people's ability to be leaders. I'm not saying that people should judge others based on something that another person did that just happens to be the same color as they are, but be realistic. As bad as this guy is fuckin up, there will be more bigots that will hold all black people responsible. Id be pissed off.
And it's a shame and I know what you're saying. Electing Obama was historical but I don't see it ever happening again. Maybe if it were a Republican canidate. I'm amazed that African Americans aren't feeling like a box of used tampons right now. Democrats have exploited people of color that has fueld racial tensions for years. When are blacks going to call them out?
That's right. Same thing. For political reasons. Shameful. how many blacks are out of work today because of Obama not putting jobs first on his agenda. Small business = jobs. He has to do something to give small business confidence to start hiring. He mentioned tax breaks for small business today in Ohio. Now why didn't he say that a year ago! sheesh! Duhhhh
Drivel. The Obama stimulus package [ necessary due to the economic collapse brought on by the incompetence and blind pro-corporate attiude of Bush and his GOP henchmen in the House and Senate] began by saving 10's of thousands of jobs by sending billions to state governments, alowing them not to cut state jobs. A failure to do so would have made things worse. Obama is still cleaning up after the worst economic mess since the Great Depression.
LOL funny! is that what happened? What I remember is around 5% unemployment. Now the guy that said he was gonna clean up the mess GAVE us a depression! 10% and climbing. He should have cared about jobs instead of big gov takeovers because without the jobs .......... how can he pay for health care? He needs to ask Bush how he kept everyone working all those years. Maybe you can give Obama some Ideas! You know it looks like you look at the past with anger and not to the future. got any good ones?
Dead wrong and logically incoherent. Unemployment was 5.3 percent when W took office and 8.1 percent when he left office. There was a very steep increase in job losses in the last few months of W.s presidency, a vicious trend that no president could have turned around in a short time [ like turning an oil tanker around in a puddle]. Only those who subscribe to magical thinking believe otherwise [ its simple physics].
Excluding 9/11 after we recovered from that Bush kept people employed. Now why do you think there was so many job loses at the very end when investors and big companies knew the president that was looking out for them was leaving? And why do you think it scared them so much that it looked like the guy coming into office planned on raping them? Think about it. That's why jobs were lost. The smart ones knew we were fucked and positioned themselves to survival mode months before the election.
Bush came into office w/ 5.1 percent unemployment [ following the economic boom of the Clinto years] and left w/ unemployment at 8.1 percent, the stock market plummeting, the housing market bludgeoned and banks failing on a daily basis. In other words, your post is entirely baseless.
Anyone that votes for a candidate based on their religious beliefs, is a moron. Who cares what anyone's religious beliefs are? In fact, it really should never come up in any political discussion or debate.
Ever since Falwell, a regular guest at the Reagan Whitehouse, gave us the Moral Majority, evangelicals have been instrumental in the success of GOP candidates. They are extremely well organized and quick to follow the instructions of the preachers in their megachurches and bigots and buffons like Robertson and Dobson. These folks BUS their sheep to the polls.
Neither party should be involved in reforming any business activity, health care or otherwise. It is governments involvement that is driving prices through the roof, get government out of business and dont use tax incentives to control behaviour and the free market can and will work. Do you even know why businesses offer health ins to employees? They dont pay for your auto or home insurance and these insurance plans dont have any problems even though they deal with natural disasters.
us. Well, we find at least one point of agreement [ re the incompetence of Bush and his GOP henchmen, without whom nothing could have been done]. That said, Obamas circumstance was like a mountain climber waking up to find an avalanche coming down his head. To expect Obama to send that avalanche back up the mountain in under a year is magical thinking; he is mopping up after a catastrophe he did not initiate.
Lumpy sure looks and sounds like he's neck-deep in denial and self-delusion. Wonder if he really believes all that rub-a-dub that he tries to hand the White House press corps.
Palin, Beck........and a nude centerfold model will lead the Republican party out of the wilderness and into a political version of Groundhog Day; Palin is Bush in drag, Beck is Cheney on estrogen and Brown represents Mitt Romneys fantasy life. We don't need to ask where this might lead, histroy has proven precisely where this leads; disaster.
Hey molloyxx1, maybe being a nude centerfold model is a good political strategy! Maybe that's how he brought in so many democrats! I wonder if a lot of democrat women saw him and had to vote for him after remembering masturbating to him back in the day. LOL
So many Democrats? Mass voters have elected 2 GOP governors in recent years and independents in that state have higher voter registration than either party. Brown reminds me of Romney, an entirely plastic American Idol whose political soul is little different than the Dolt from Crawford who brought this country to ruin.
Wow you have some real built up anger there. Why don't you cross your fingers and give him a chance? Obama has the entire country so divided. Maybe this is a new beginning of working together. He already saved us from a bad bill and he's not even there yet. That's quite an accomplishment for not even being seated yet. You better learn to like him because he's going to be on your presidential ballot some day. That's for sure after hearing some of his speeches. He's good!
Sounds like premature ejaculation to me. Moreover nothing indicates Brown is any different than the Republicans who led us directly into the ditch during the Bush reign of error. If he has any new ideas I am not aware of them. More pragmatically, his 'soft' postion on abotion rights issues mean the evangelicals will never support him and without them the GOP is doomed. Brown will be rejected by Mass voters at the next opportunity but might have a future as an underwear model.
Well he already had a good idea! he forced them to go back to the drawing board and come up with a better healthcare bill. Also if he brings in the center into the party the hard core evangelicals won't matter that much. Now that I think about it, i can't see them voting democrat anyway so there's not much risk there. So once again, give him a chance and lets see!
omg He didnt say BROWN was for big banks and insurance haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa well if that aint the pot calling the kettle black.....get on to your back room and make your deals with unions.
The Second American Revolution started last Tuesday, with another Shot Heard Around the World from Boston! Did you see our flags of the Second American Revolution at the Rally? I snuck them in. You can get one at USRevolution2 (dot com).
I can testify to that. It was a shot heard around the world! Views of this video alone came from all around the world. Just open up "stats and data" drop down and see.
Hey,Thanks for the link I'll check it out. I want one!
Yes, a revolution inspired by a former [ nude] centerfold model whose views are no different than the views of the dolt from Crawford, the goon who, with the full support of his Republican conservative henchmen in the house and senate [ as well as the right wing talk radio hosts and Fox News], led us to the brink of catastrophe. What was the condition of the US the day BEFORE Obama took office? The worst it has been in more than half a century.
molloyxx1 You are right about Bush. He put us in a major car accident, but now the Obamination is trying to push that car and us off a cliff. This is not about R vs. D it should be about us vs these idiots on both sides.
The worst thing that happened to politicians is you tube, it created a public library of videos we can go and watch concerning our past and things that have been said. If you don't walk a straight line you look foolish, your words will eat you alive because they are open for everyone to see, not when you say them, but day weeks years down the road at the whim of typing a word in a search bar. Ahhhh I love it. .
Obama has been playing it too close to the vest since he took office, failing to understand that bipartishanship is a fantasy as Republicans have purged moderates from their party and had no interest in health care reform. He is alienating the most active elements of his base with his increasingly bland, automatic tendency toward moderation and unless he finds his soul and soon is at risk of a disaterous presidency.
Just accidently made a comment on white houses youtube account so if you dont hear from me again it's because they got me. on thier account I said I knew Scott was going to win wooooo
yea they are just scared out of their mind now that greedy so called president cant get everything he wants. they know dfamn well this makes them nervous and as for var1um your an idiot dude you watch to much msnbc and cnn dude those are the peop[le who make up shit to save obamas ass i cant believe you stand up for this wanna be dictator
this is fantastic! whatever blocks Barrack Hussein O'blah-blah from turning this int he Socialist Republic of America! the only people that defend Obamas policies are the lazy losers who want to get free handouts from the government that the rest of hard working America will be FORCED to pay for! I guess this is the election result we can expect when the braindead morons dont watch MTV to hear P Diddy and George Clooney telling them who to vote for. Hang on America, only 3 more crappy years!
Gibbs is such a piece of shit and very much in denial of his own political longevity. I love the fact this clown is now eating his words, with respect to Scott Brown's Senate-Elect status. Senator Brown may have single handed derailed any hope of passing the current legislation! And, yes, thank GOD the good people of Massachusetts finally came to their senses! Now, let's build upon this wonderful achievement and vote this ass-clown out of the Oval Office during the next election.
If you look back on all the comments here you'll notice that the coakley supporters never said a word here until after the election. Why? Where were you guys when you needed to get the vote out? You never posted a note here trying to shift anyones opinion. Now you come on here complaining it's fox news fault? wow. Look at yourself
Robt Gibbs...and the folks who works for have their feet solidly placed in reality, don't they.
Raising taxes during a recession...thinking the voters are all a bunch of "right wing zealots"...believing that schmoozing terrorists will make them warm and fuzzy.
Yep...he's got his head on straight! Good forecast Bob! You really understand America.
to understand a people who chose the party that enabled the most horrific successful terrorist attack in the history of our country, an 8 year corporate crime spree with a global economic collapse you have to understand morons.
since 2000's disenfranchisement of poor people and african-americans, morons are the main voting population.
@sonbarably te he he he .looks like you will not get your welfare health care now..te he he he..........................the succesful Americans.......(morons) lol
Could be...what political party "enabled" a terrorist attack? How? Eight year corporate crime spree? Do you mean, like Enron, or what corporation do you mean? And global economic collapses don't happen because of a political party...unless all of my years studying and teaching econ are completely outdated all of a sudden...
And since when have all those folks been disenfranchised? You mean they can't vote...apply for jobs...collect welfare? Perhaps you're simply enabling a victim-hood fantasy?
"independent" american rats in a maze opt for another GOP crime-spree for the corporate elite. an alternate party to the two status-quo ones is simply not an option.
8 years and an global economic collapse simply were not enough. they want more.
I think the polls showed that a lot of those rats that voted for brown were............democrats!!!!!!!! oh my...some of you do have an ounce of decency i guess
WHO is for the Big Bank? KASAB!!!! That means you lier in Hebrew...OBAMA KASAB...It is not about race, he is a lier in every language to every color. For those who have eyes to see and ears to hear. Keep up the Prayers America and Thank the Most High our Father for showing us the Kasabs and giving us all the good things we do have to fight for.
ObombA tried to throw Joe Lieberman under bus - failed. He threw Corzine under thte bus in N. Jersey - failure. He threw Deeds under the bus in Virginia - failure. Now they throw, Coakley, a woman, under the bus - failure. Looks like the Chicago Mafia Machine is an equal opportunity destroyer of "Progressive" Democrats. Transparency after the election shows the dirty underbelly of a community organizer's minions. Thanks Scott Brown - from a Reagan Democrat.
Hey open up the "Statistics & Data" tab below the video. At least at the moment it says the video is most popular with males age 13-17! Wow! Could that mean there is a new generation of young males that are pushing back against the liberalize that has been shoved down their throats at school everyday?
The liberal idiot democrats wrong? Understatement of the YEAR! Ha! They got their behinds WHIPPED. The good people of Massachussetts have MASSIVELY spoken! I hope they remain CLUELESS!! It was totally a referendum on the horrible healthcare plan AND everything else! But don't worry... we'll just continue to drum you idiots out!
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha....wait till Nov. 2010.....al you Dems that are stuffing this bill down our throats will have plenty of time on your hands to pursue hobbies and watch soap operas....buh-bye.....
Eat poop, Mr. Gibbs. Scott Brown won in the bluest of blue states from a 47-year Democratic predecessor because we're sick of this Marxist government we've had for the past 12 months, and now we have it on the run and you know it. We have not yet begun to fight.
Oh yes, those evil insurance companies with their single-digit-percent profits who actually have incentive to serve their customers. If you're for them becoming successful by serving the American people, then you're against the American people.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Maybe you can get a job someday as well. But first you'll have to learn how to spell (it's "you're and not "your") and then you have to stop blaming Obama for your own failures. I guess that's why the Cons hate Obama so much. Just blame the President. I guess that's easier than admitting they are failures.
@jensen1901 because we all know democrats never ever came across the thought of blaming bush for anything... (sarcasm)
i used to have 2 jobs and go to college, now because of obama the restaurant i used to work at had to close because of the tax hikes and the checks from my other job taxes went from 30$ a check to 42$...
getting a loan for college is a different story in its self....
The only ones who are "NOT" on the side of the American people are Obama, his adminstration, and the Democrats in congress. Promises, promises not kept. I am an Independent who once believed in them and now I do not believe anything they say.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
You sad demented retard. You just called 53 million Americans not on the side of the American people. It is your right to vote how you want but do NOT speak for the American people. There are millions of us who support Obama and the Democrats still. We are just not always on You Tube because some of us have jobs.
Earth to Jensen1901......If the Democrats can't hold onto Kennedy's old seat, then no Democratic seat is safe. Jensen you are obviously a naive, ignoramus liberal moron if you still don't see the significance of this event for the future of Obama's administration and the Democrats.
jensen1901: There is nothing in my comments that said I was speaking for 53 million Americans. Obama, his adminstration, the democrats in congress, and you do not equal 53 million Americans. Im one of the millions of Independents who voted for Obama, and then he breaks everyone of his promises. Us Independents helped Obama in 2008, they made the difference in Massachusetts, and they will make the difference in 2010 and 2012. Out with the Demos and Obama, and fuck demented retards like you.
You said "the only ones who are not on the side of the American people are the Democrats." That is intellectually dishionest.
I simply stated that 53 million or so Americans disagree with you. You are no independent. You think Bush didn't lie? You will be lied to no matter who you vote for in November.
Hmmmm you might be right. Maybe they do all lie for different reasons we will never understand. But are you saying don't vote for anyone because they will all lie at some point? By this philosophy Democrats held a 60% majority of lies in the senate. Now your party will only be doing 59% of the lies. You should be happy! Your one percent less of a liar party then you used to be! If we just vote you all out of the senate all together your party won't be telling lies at all!
well fill me in then. You said your party tells lies less, then you are admitting your party tell lies. So what percentage of what they say is a lie? Can you give us some examples of the lies you claim your party has told? We think we know what they are but i would like to hear them from your mouth because your the only democrat that has ever come to post a note here saying his own party lies.
What a whipping boy. I almost feel sorry for him. I've never seen a president more protected from the press before like Obama. I guarantee you, he'll give some more speeches, wrap it up and take no questions as usual. CONGRATS TO SCOTT!!!
The victory of Scott Brown is awesome! The same seat that Ted Rossevelt held for 47 years pushing for HC reform, is the same seat from where Scott Brown is going to "KILL THE BILL"
MASSACHUSETTS YOU DID IT AGAIN: YOU STOOD FOR THE ORIGINAL TEA PARTY REVOLT AND YOU HAVE STOOD UP AGAIN.
America is awesome!!! We are seeing history being written all oaver again.
MASSACHUSETTS, I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!!!
I wish that Mary Landrieu had midterm elections, unfortunately we are stocked.
This guy isn't qualified to be the greeter at the WalMart that closed down the street 3 years ago. I understand their affinity for Social Issues, which is clearly why they hired this handicapped. Sorry for the handicapped inuendo, that is an insult to those that truly suffer from such a terrible malady unwillingly.
Gibbs/Obama and company are even in more denial over Al Qeada and the taliban. Taliban launched a major attack in Kabul yesterday and Gibbs talks about "negotiating" with them.
"Here's my assessment of not just the vote in Massachusetts, but the mood around the country: the same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept me into office," the president said in an exclusive interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos. "People are angry and they are frustrated. Not just because of what's happened in the last year or two years, but what's happened over the last eight years."

I'll post the link if you want it.
retardUtube 2 years ago
@retardUtube sure thing. I love how this whole administration takes credit for stuff they don't do and push blame from stuff they actually do. Also, I love how Obama points his finger at Republicans for "not reaching compromises" but then there's a bipartisan for of the job creation bill that Republicans are all for and Reid looks at it and goes, "No, that doesn't work" and changes a lot of it. Sounds to me like Democrats need to look in a mirror more often.

TangoCharlie3 2 years ago 2
... yeah, like before the government interfered with states who wanted own and sell people. America has been crumbling ever since.
rfrantzt 2 years ago
@rfrantzt that wasn't a capitalism matter, that was a rights issue. People are people and should be treated as such.
TangoCharlie3 2 years ago
It WAS a capitalism issue. States wanted to buy and sell certain cargo that the government redefined as people.
THAT is the extent of capitalism, where the free-market has no infringement from the government.
rfrantzt 2 years ago
@rfrantzt EVERYTHING has it's exceptions, and letting the market just go reaches it's exception when PEOPLE are being traded and sold. You don't understand this, you're a numb-skull. Yes, some states wanted to trade people, but others didn't. And there was a moral obligation to force a change.
TangoCharlie3 2 years ago
Capitalism should NOT have limits or exceptions. Capitalism should go as far as we can take it.
The strong should always capitalize on those who are less strong, and I don't want the government to interfere with it. Health insurance companies are FREE MARKET. They should do whatever is necessary to make profits without government intervention.

Most liberals I know find Palin an ideal candidate for 2102 [ Bush in drag, only not quite as eloquent]. For a time, like you, I doubted she'd run, preferring the money and the celebrity.

This perfectly qualifies them as obstructionists.
molloyxx1 2 years ago
@molloyxx1
i would hope that the gop did obstruct the health bill. that was all they could do. governments intrusion into health care in the first place, leads us to this second place of beaurocraciy and rising cost. why would the answer to be more government.
it's counter logic. how about we try LESS government.
the "health care for profit lobby" stood with obama on this one and what about their "obscene profits"?

Faygo069 2 years ago
There is no GOP plan for health care reform on the table. No surprise, as when they were in power they did absolutely nothing about the sky-rocketing costs or the suffering and death of the unisured [ 40,000 a year die via the absence of coverage] They understand that it is much easier to be obstructionist re a complex issue than to promote or defend a complex issue in the era of 24 hour cable news sloganeering.
molloyxx1 2 years ago
Obamas failure to push through health care reform via reconcilaition [ a simple majority vs a fillibuster proof 60 vote majority], which conservatives these days are insisting is undemocratic, defies logic and ignores history. Reagan used the mechanism 8 times, Bush I twice and Bush II 4 times. It was also used during the Clinton administration.
molloyxx1 2 years ago
I think your missing the point molloy. It's not Obama's fault that the democrats in the house of representatives don't want to follow obama off a cliff. Those democrats need to get reelected. The public has turned against the worthless plan they came up with. So they are just covering their own asses. Like Obama said the other day in Ohio, " I could sit here and do nothing and the polls would go up" I think those democrats might be following that advice.
Didntsaythat 2 years ago
Blue dogs in the house and senate have certainly been gutless on the matter [ part of the price you pay for a big tent]. I am not concerned with their political careers or any kind of appeasement on the matter. I do care about serious minded health care reform and Obama and his advisors made a drastic mistake by declining the reconcilaition option. Not long ago the GOP wheeled Cheney out of his bunker to break a 50-50 tie for gods sakes. Imagine the noise if Biden were perform the same function
molloyxx1 2 years ago
@molloyxx1, just to make sure you know your history. Reconciliation is a legislative process intended to allow consideration of a contentious budget bill without the threat of filibuster.
Reconciliation has nothing to do with passing a NEW Bill.
ClassicFIHD 2 years ago
Reconciliation would push much, but not all, of the health care reform bill through per attached conditions to using the measure. It would not include forcing for profit insurance providers to stop denying coverage to the very ill or those w/ pre-existing conditions but these are the most popular aspects of the bill and the most difficult for the obstructionists to grotesquely distort. The health care bill IS contentious precisely because of its projected budget.
molloyxx1 2 years ago

But not all? Best I know is you can't pass parts of a Bill. it's all or nothing. And again Reconciliation has nothing to do with passing a NEW Bill. Reconciliation is only possible for Bills that are already Law.

Is it your position that reconcilaition is an illegitmate, unethical or undemocratic mechanism?

No, my position is Reconciliation has nothing to do with passing a NEW Bill, and it cannot be used to PASS a NEW Bill into Law. Reconciliation can only be used to modify a budget Bill that already has been Law.
As you mentioned Reagan used it but they were all on Budget Bills that were already in existance. He never used it to pass a new Bill into Law.

knowing that the overwhelming majority of american's are against this health plan.
knowing the proto-type plan in mass has led them to elect a R who vowed to vote against it.
knowing medicare is 36 TRILLION in the red.
knowing that the medicare actuary predicts this plan would raise cost, lessen quality, and still leave tens of million uninsured.
knowing that nobody in congress would dare be put on such a plan.
knowing that it was put together in secret.
you're okay with that?
theMETALDOVE 2 years ago
This is not the first time I have seen the 36 trillion figure re how much Medicare is in the red. What you neglected, incredibly to mention, is that this is the projected cost.....SEVENTY FIVE YEARS FROM NOW, for the year 2085, when the financial elites will be vacationing on Mars and a beer will likely cost more than a small car. Intellectual dishonesty of the highest order.
molloyxx1 2 years ago
@molloyxx1
that[s entirely incorrect. medicare goes belly up in, i believe, it's 2016 now, the 36 trillion is in unfunded obligations payable to recipients over the span of X amount of years. there isn't 36 trillion in one lump sum due in 2085. i'm not going to suggest that you are being dishonest, but you are mistaken.

Lets worry about jobs and who has the ideas to get everyone working without breaking the bank.
Didntsaythat 2 years ago
I don't consider knee jerk obstructionism an idea. The GOP does not give a sweet shit about health care reform and never has and their track record proves it. As for hard core evangelicals, they have been the most active and vocal element of the GOP base for decades and will never support anyone who does not adhere to their visions of a theocracy. [McCain wanted his buddy Lieberman as VP, the evangelicals made it clear this meant they would all stay home].
molloyxx1 2 years ago
well you just lost all credibility then. How do you explain his win in Massachusetts then if republicans won't vote for him. LOL He got the base out and the center. Try again. I'm a republican and I like McCain and Lieberman. the center can replace the evangelicals if they don't want to look at the bigger picture.
Didntsaythat 2 years ago
Very simple. There is probably no state in the union with a lower percentage of evangelicals than Mass [ perhaps Vermont]. This did not stop Republicans,Romney and William Weld, from winning the governorship. Moreover, Mass has a higher percentage of independents than Reps or Democrats, making it, in a variety of ways, an anomaly.

I'll say this, if your black, you should be a mad mother fucker right about now at Obama and his administration. Obama is still cleaning up after the worst economic mess since the Great Depression.
molloyxx1 2 years ago
LOL funny! is that what happened? What I remember is around 5% unemployment. Now the guy that said he was gonna clean up the mess GAVE us a depression! 10% and climbing. He should have cared about jobs instead of big gov takeovers because without the jobs .......... how can he pay for health care? He needs to ask Bush how he kept everyone working all those years. Maybe you can give Obama some Ideas! You know it looks like you look at the past with anger and not to the future. got any good ones?
retardUtube 2 years ago
Dead wrong and logically incoherent. Unemployment was 5.3 percent when W took office and 8.1 percent when he left office. There was a very steep increase in job losses in the last few months of W.s presidency, a vicious trend that no president could have turned around in a short time [ like turning an oil tanker around in a puddle]. Only those who subscribe to magical thinking believe otherwise [ its simple physics].
molloyxx1 2 years ago
Excluding 9/11 after we recovered from that Bush kept people employed. Now why do you think there was so many job loses at the very end when investors and big companies knew the president that was looking out for them was leaving? And why do you think it scared them so much that it looked like the guy coming into office planned on raping them? Think about it. That's why jobs were lost. The smart ones knew we were fucked and positioned themselves to survival mode months before the election.
retardUtube 2 years ago
Bush came into office w/ 5.1 percent unemployment [ following the economic boom of the Clinto years] and left w/ unemployment at 8.1 percent, the stock market plummeting, the housing market bludgeoned and banks failing on a daily basis. In other words, your post is entirely baseless.

So many Democrats? Mass voters have elected 2 GOP governors in recent years and independents in that state have higher voter registration than either party. molloyxx1 2 years ago
Wow you have some real built up anger there. Why don't you cross your fingers and give him a chance? Obama has the entire country so divided. Maybe this is a new beginning of working together. You better learn to like him because he's going to be on your presidential ballot some day. That's for sure after hearing some of his speeches. He's good!
Didntsaythat 2 years ago
Sounds like premature ejaculation to me. Moreover nothing indicates Brown is any different than the Republicans who led us directly into the ditch during the Bush reign of error. If he has any new ideas I am not aware of them. More pragmatically, his 'soft' postion on abotion rights issues mean the evangelicals will never support him and without them the GOP is doomed. Brown will be rejected by Mass voters at the next opportunity but might have a future as an underwear model.

The more I think about it, the more I like Gibbs and Pelosi. They are doing more for the conservative movement than the RNC.
Keep up the good work, you tone-deaf, populist, elitists. How about a teabag?

You really understand America.
professorofliberty 2 years ago
to understand a people who chose the party that enabled the most horrific successful terrorist attack in the history of our country, an 8 year corporate crime spree with a global economic collapse you have to understand morons.
since 2000's disenfranchisement of poor people and african-americans, morons are the main voting population.

Perhaps you're simply enabling a victim-hood fantasy?
professorofliberty 2 years ago
"independent" american rats in a maze opt for another GOP crime-spree for the corporate elite. an alternate party to the two status-quo ones is simply not an option.
8 years and an global economic collapse simply were not enough. they want more.

I think the polls showed that a lot of those rats that voted for brown were............democrats!!!!!!!! oh my...some of you do have an ounce of decency i guess

Could that mean there is a new generation of young males that are pushing back against the liberalize that has been shoved down their throats at school everyday?

Eat poop, Mr. Gibbs. Scott Brown won in the bluest of blue states from a 47-year Democratic predecessor because we're sick of this Marxist government we've had for the past 12 months, and now we have it on the run and you know it. We have not yet begun to fight.

Maybe you can get a job someday as well. But first you'll have to learn how to spell (it's "you're and not "your") and then you have to stop blaming Obama for your own failures. I guess that's why the Cons hate Obama so much. Just blame the President. I guess that's easier than admitting they are failures.
jensen1901 2 years ago
@jensen1901 because we all know democrats never ever came across the thought of blaming bush for anything... (sarcasm)
i used to have 2 jobs and go to college, now because of obama the restaurant i used to work at had to close because of the tax hikes and the checks from my other job taxes went from 30$ a check to 42$...
getting a loan for college is a different story in its self....

The only ones who are "NOT" on the side of the American people are Obama, his adminstration, and the Democrats in congress. Promises, promises not kept. I am an Independent who once believed in them and now I do not believe anything they say.

You sad demented retard. You just called 53 million Americans not on the side of the American people. It is your right to vote how you want but do NOT speak for the American people. There are millions of us who support Obama and the Democrats still. We are just not always on You Tube because some of us have jobs.
jensen1901 2 years ago
Earth to Jensen1901......If the Democrats can't hold onto Kennedy's old seat, then no Democratic seat is safe. Jensen you are obviously a naive, ignoramus liberal moron if you still don't see the significance of this event for the future of Obama's administration and the Democrats.
breakerexpress 2 years ago
jensen1901: There is nothing in my comments that said I was speaking for 53 million Americans.
YT102008 2 years ago
You said "the only ones who are not on the side of the American people are the Democrats." That is intellectually dishionest.
I simply stated that 53 million or so Americans disagree with you. You are no independent. You think Bush didn't lie? You will be lied to no matter who you vote for in November.
jensen1901 2 years ago
Hmmmm you might be right. Maybe they do all lie for different reasons we will never understand. But are you saying don't vote for anyone because they will all lie at some point? By this philosophy Democrats held a 60% majority of lies in the senate. Now your party will only be doing 59% of the lies. You should be happy! Your one percent less of a liar party then you used to be! If we just vote you all out of the senate all together your party won't be telling lies at all!
Good idea Jenson!
Didntsaythat 2 years ago
It's a question of who lies less. In my experience the Democrats lie less than the Republicans.
jensen1901 2 years ago
no you quite clearly said "you will be lied to no matter who you vote for". Did you want to take that back then already?
Didntsaythat 2 years ago
Are you retarded? Can you read? I said the Democrats lie less.
jensen1901 2 years ago
well fill me in then.
Didntsaythat 2 years ago
You are an idiot "jensen1901", and you can't read either.

Obama *did* try to:
"Here's my assessment of not just the vote in Massachusetts, but the mood around the country: the same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept me into office," the president said in an exclusive interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos. "People are angry and they are frustrated. Not just because of what's happened in the last year or two years, but what's happened over the last eight years."
