  • Come one, Paramount. Take a chance with this series on a DVD, the film's famous and it's just one tiny single season.

  • Great movie, great tv series.

  • Controversial at the time, 10pm time slot (friday night?) probalbly would be considered tame today ...

  • We need more cops like Frank Serpico.

We need fewer actors like David Birney.

  • i love the font-type of therse 70s shows

  • David Birney is a spitting image of James Brolin.

  • I would like this to get released to DVD

  • What a great theme. And Birney was not less good that Pacino in this role.

  • @jimmy281059 for tv i would think david birney was a good choice

  • @jimmy281059 The late, great Elmer Bernstein!

  • The Adults Only Logo Is Retro

  • You know I've been all over the net looking for a way to watch this old series. I've tried NBC rewind and everything.

I was hoping that YouTube would have some full episodes. Can anybody help point me in the right direction where i can watch full episodes of this ?

  • Frank Serpico was a member of the NYPD who blew the lid off corruption whithin the department. His testimony before the Knapp Commission is what signalled his final days as member of one of New York's "Finast".

  • great theme

  • They had a tv show? is this in anyway related to the movie ( based off a true story).

Should i have waited intil i watch the video to post this comment :P

  • Yes and yes...it's a TV series based on the movie, which as you probably know, was based on a real-life cop who blew the whistle on some corrupt colleagues.

I can hardly blame you for not remembering this show...it debuted in the '76-'77 season and didn't make it to the middle of the season.

  • Despite my age (19) I prefer the older classic television to present day TV, Infact im getting Columbo box sets at Christmas which should be great entertainment for me :).

But yes, I am aware of the movie, I have the DVD, but never knew of a Television series.

    Thanks for the reply :)

  • You sound like a pretty bright young man. I was around when this series came out, saw it, thought it OK, nothing special.

I too prefer older TV to what's available today (not to say that I don't watch any current shows, which I do). The Columbo boxes are fun to watch (I have two of them). I'm getting a Best Buy card as a Christmas bonus from my office, and like the past two years, it's going toward some TV box sets. Enjoy your Christmas present! :)

  • Loved this show ! What a theme ! Thanks 4 upload.
