  • Builder, player, you are truly a man of many talents. ( 2 talents being 'many' more than most people ).

  • @BarrettFamilyHomeVid Thanks man, that's super nice of you to say.

  • Seriously LMAO when you were studying up for the lead in the book...GREAT MAN!

  • @WyldeMagiK :) Thanks!

  • At 1:55. inverted logo Bird' ???? You do Randy proud..... Dude, he is smiling at this. Thanks.

  • @Hiwynds I built the body for that neck, which was a neat little find from 1987. Thanks for the kind words!

  • The best Randy Rhoads cover EVER, as well as the most entertaining!!!!

  • @FrankRizzo419 Very kind of you to say, there, sizzlechest!

  • @jsullysix LMAO! No problem, rubberneck! I actually came across your channel by looking into how to use Z-poxy to grain-fill and seal a guitar body before finishing, which was extremely helpful for me, so many thanks for that!! I do recall hearing of you through Doug Marks of Metal Method though.

  • @FrankRizzo419 Oh wow, sweet! Happy to be of service. (that'swhatshesaid)

  • LOL at 2:41-2:44. That was fucking epic, dude. I honestly did not expect that.

  • @darcphat Thanks! I try to make them entertaining, because really, who wants to watch some dude do a cover, ya know?

  • This made me extremely happy...for some reason. :p ..By the way..hi..after so long. lol

  • @Thealmightybacon Thanks! And....hi!

  • the only guitar you should use is the jackson rhoads

  • @derekthegrizz1826 that was my main guitar for many years, actually!

  • Awesome dude... I like the classical part hahaha

  • Awesome cover sully, love the guitar changes and the humor:) definitely adding to my favorites!!!!

  • @mastershredder666 thanks!

  • Robbin Crosby Posters back There??

    :O Love That Firebird!!

  • @franjul08 Yes, and thank you!

  • Sully, are you the guitar player for Kiss Alive?

  • @frostedhead There's probably 18 million Kiss tribute bands by that name, but yeah, I was in a tribute band out of Chicago named Kiss Alive from 2001 - 2002. There are some clips from some of our shows in my playlist.

  • @jsullysix Yeah, I watched a couple of them, good job.

  • @frostedhead Good times, thanks!

  • Jackson Rhoads Concord AND a white Jake E. Lee like Charvel? MUST HAZ

  • @eramir228 Those are two of my favorite (and iconic) guitars; they're both awesome to play, for sure. Can't beat the Jackson/Charvel custom shop, for sure.

  • @jsullysix Indeed, and both represent my favorite guitar players.

  • @eramir228 Two of mine as well! :)

  • great videoo

  • why is the middle of a firebird always raised up???

  • @guitargod1598 because it likes me! har har har. it's just the construction style. I used to build them without the raised center (they're easier to paint that way), but I changed because I like the look of the raised center more.

  • What gear do you use to record with? One of the meanest tones i've ever heard, if you don't mind telling me..Also how do you do the trick at 2:30? always wanted to learn that

  • @SkillerGuyVids Thanks! I just use a Line6 Tone Port UX1 straight into my mac and it's recorded in Garageband. The tones are just a mix of different guitars through Soldano SLO100 models. As far as that little trick goes; you just do some hammers and pulls while lightly running the side of your hand down the string to get the aritificial harmonics. Granted, the more gain you've got, the better they seem to come out.

  • LOL I love where you take a minute to study how to play the solo before nailing it...funny stuff. How many axes do you currently own?

  • @btx109 thanks! gotta try to keep it entertaining. I think I have somewhere around a dozen.

  • that guitar at 0:56 was tht a yamaha?

  • @msh68789 The sea foam green strat? No, I built that.

  • @jsullysix damn how many guitars have you built?

  • @msh68789 Not sure, really. More than 10, less than 30...?

  • Sorry bout that, Either way it looks great. and those jackson reissues guitars have really gone up over the years, Better investment than a house!!. And the firebird is just.........BADASS either way it is. good stuff.....

  • @TheSprayking Hey, no problem at all! If you notice the bird that I'm playing when the solo begins, that's one that's about to be painted and has my six-in-line headstock design. I hope you like it.

  • The firebird and the Rhoads jackson copy are sick. good work.

  • @TheSprayking Thanks, but I need to point out that I don't make copies of stuff; that Rhoads is a legit Jackson Rhoads that was part of a 200 piece limited edition in 1992. The Firebird I'm assuming you're referring to (there are two in the video) was a body that I built around a legit Jackson neck. I'm probably being over sensitive, but I do not build guitars that look like things that they're not. All that aside, I'm really glad you liked the video!

  • @jsullysix yes thats the meaning of life anyway.

  • Nice man! :) always great to see your video's!

  • ROCKTASTIC!

  • Dont know why but looking at your face makes me feel way better.

    is it weird?

  • @examanted Doesn't bother me any; I have a similar phenomenon when I see boobies.

  • @jsullysix Boobies and guitars make happy faces all over the world. The interwebs make it possible to do it en masse also!

    What a winning combination.

  • @jsullysix haha!

  • awesome video mate and awesome guitars i really like the firebird with the jackson neck

  • good cover. i love that firebird thing @ 1:55

  • Awesome job!!

  • Looking forward to your next video. Buddy, you make awesome guitars! Don't let the Trolls deter you from making more videos, I really enjoy them.

  • Love it! Its an underated song. One thing tho, how many of those guitars did you build?

I really need to get my workshop built so I can build a few myself. Ive been working on guitars for many years now as an amateur. Suggestions for essential tools?

  • @Digideus thanks! I built the pink one, the sea foam green one, the Firebird that I start the solo with, I built the Firebird body that has a Jackson neck on it, and I resurrected the Les Paul. Essential tools....jeez, that's a big list! I'd say a drill press, a router, and a band saw as the top 3.

  • the guitar changes itself people, this guys a wizard didn't you know

its not like he plays a tune with every guitar is it, haha its very creative why just stick to one guitar when you have many =P

  • I'm not usually one to swear in video responses, as it usually denotes a lack of restraint and/or intelligence on the behalf of the poster. I try to utilise succinct and insightful language constructions to promote discussion and thought as opposed to closed statements that dismiss ideas and end them.

    I FUCKING LOVE THAT FIREBIRD.

    You heard it here folks.

  • @Prostheta Thanks man, but which one? There are two in the video. :)

  • @jsullysix The sunburst one of course....! That's a great choice of colours for that burst....when I manage to get a shop together again, I have plans to build a Firebird with that kind of burst (need to learn technique first) with the gold hardware also. I slated an EMG 81X and a 60X for that one though, rather than the single pup. Do you have any more pics of that 'bird? It looks like it either has binding or faux binding....trick of the light?

Fantastic cover BTW. Glad to see you back.

  • @Prostheta It's much darker in the video than in reality. I shot it in a honey burst kind of manner. I did a series of videos on the construction of that body - go to the Sully's Guitar Garage playlist and look for "building a Firebird" and "shooting a honeyburst" and "scraping binding" and a few others. Oh, it's bound; that's not a faux thing. There are also pix of it on the facebook page - you can get the link from any of the Sully's Guitar Garage videos.

  • That was great, I see you got the new transformer guitar.

  • wow! you can actually play guitar :o

  • @ThaUltimateDragon :) That's a matter of opinion!

  • Awesome!!!.

  • Randy Rhoads RIP

  • Very clever way to show off your guitars Sully. I'm really digging the pink double cut with the checker board pick guard.

  • @weldfish :) Thanks. It's a way to advertise the brand, I guess! :)

  • Fuck yea!

  • @DoggBisket No, it's a custom shop from 2007.

  • I was laughing me arse off at the end!! Another great video Sully. It's not just about the playing man, thanks for putting time into your uploads. Killer line-up of homemade guitars too.

  • @dickjonesify Thanks man! It's usually boring as hell to watch some jackass play cover tunes, so I try to make it entertaining.

  • @jsullysix so do you play the whole song on all guitars or do you just play the parts?

  • @FireboltAce Ooops, sorry. The audio is recorded first, using whatever guitars sound the best. The videos will often have some of the recording process, and some extra silliness added in.

  • hey Sully

where can I find some info about those guitars you make?i mean price, shipping, etc. you have a website or something?

if not then i want to know if you ship to brazil and how much would a les paul cost or are all guitars the same price?

hopefully someday I can buy one instead of just watching ;D

  • @kupia25 I can't post a link in comments, but if you go to facebook, and then search for sully's guitar garage, you can see some of the things that I've done. I don't build copies of things, so I wouldn't build a Les Paul.

  • @jsullysix I meant the les paul shape and what I'm actually looking for is info about ordering a guitar.

  • @kupia25 web address is sullyguitars dot us - site is very much under construction.

  • @jsullysix thanks ;D

  • kickass cover

  • that pink guitars badass with the racing stripe pick guard lmao , I'd so play it on stage but the white jackson has to be my favorite... I got a band for you Sully check out Hellfueled, its exactly like Ozzy in the prime of his career in the 80s.

  • im very jealous of your black les paul

  • @themusic928 No need to be - it's the one that I fixed up and did a rather long video series on. It was a beater, for sure.

  • @jsullysix yah i saw those ive loved les pauls forever that was great that you saved the guitar... someday ill save up for one

  • that was incredible, i was also wondering how much did that rhoads V run you? its the number 1 guitar on my wish list

  • @diaryofanaxeman56 Thanks. It cost me less when I bought it new in 1992 than it would now, that's for sure.

  • the classical guitar was recorded live? epic classical guitar!

  • @TheAlexkru It's magical, I tell ya.

  • Oh shit, I want that pink DC! That was looked sick! Good cover to btw ;)

  • @JerryBeatFreak I'd be happy to build you one! Thanks for the kind words.

  • it's cool seiing you play! do it more often you're real good! (but i kinda miss you building guitar)

  • @jeremy17405 Thank you! I can only do one or the other. :)

  • Great cover! Can't belive it's 29 years since Randy passed away. Rest in peace, my hero and source of inspiration!

  • yay, luv u

  • Sweet cover

  • what kind of charvel was that?

  • @thecharvelshredder The white one? It's part of a 10 piece limited run that the custom shop did a few years ago.

  • @jsullysix Nice! I got a model 2, but I swapped out the pick up and replaced the khaler with a floydd

  • Awesome cover :P
