SSGT J.D. Potter US Airforce, the best big brother ever! I can't wait for him to come home. And I'm so sorry for all those who lost their family/friends God Bless their sacrifice.
I am a very Proud mom of and American Soldier in Iraq right Now. I love you Phillip Alan Bledsoe!!!!!!!! You are not my only child but you are my only Son.....You are my best friend and I miss you so very much!!!! Love Mom
My only son will be leaving after the first of the year. USMC. This song made me cry. God Bless Matthew Murchison, and, all the brave men and women in our Military.....
My wife and I just attended our sons graduation from Air Force BMT. He goes on from there to PJ Indoc. training. This song so accurately expresses our heart. We keep him covered in prayer and pray for the safety of all of the men and women who serve our country.
My son is also in the Air Force. He graduated from BMT in June, 2009. And I agree, this song does express what my heart feels. My son is currently serving in Afghanistan and is scheduled to return to the states in a few days. He is my son and my only son. Thank your son for his service and thank you for raising such a wonderful son who is willing to serve our country.
I was driving thru South Dakota at 5am last week on my way to visit my sister and brother in law who is about to leave for his second tour of duty next month. What a beautiful song!
My son is a MP also.He is in iraq.NOW Its been hard for all of us. He is my son and my best friend. We ride are Motorcycles talk about cars ,like the same music. I was in for 7 years. He told me when he was a kid,I was his hereo. BUT NOW he is my HEREO
I work in a barracks in the U.K where we have lost 4 R. M.P's in 2 month's. My father is also Ex R.M.P and can't beleive the stuff these guy's are doing out there. You are right to be proud of your Son and he is a true Hero. Best Wishes from the U.K
The missus told me about this song. Our son is in the Marine Corps and will be going to Afghanistan next year. We have to entrust him to the care of God. For all military families, God bless you and may He keep your loved ones safe.
I just heard this song last week and it was very emotional for my family. We lost our only son in Iraq in 2007. I think everyone can find a connection with themselves with this song. God Bless you and yours and keep up the good work. MMurch01
In Memory fo SPC Matthew Murchison 127th MP Company
I herd this on XM Radio on the way to church, and the first thing I did when I got there was get my guitar and chord the song. Turns out, its a really easy song to play, and yet it was the only song that stuck in my mind on the drive.
For guitarists, put a capo on "A" and the song runs (4/4 time) G-D-C-C. Amazing how simple it is and yet how strong.
I saw you live last night in KC, MO, such a memorable performance, the tears ran down my face like rain. My only son is currently stationed at Ft. Knox. I fear it is only a matter of time before he is deployed. I am so proud of him for wanting to serve and protect our country, I am so very terrified at the thought of him going. Thank you so much for expressing the words I just couldn't find a way to say. May God bless and keep all our sons and daughters and bring them home safe, sound and soon.
As I watch this video and listen to the words, I so vividly remember what it was like when our son went to Iraq. If not for our strong religious belief, we would have not been able to survive those long months.
my mother has a hard time listening to this song cause i am in the army and she is terrified of losing me. this song isnt just about sons its also about daughters... I want my mother to have faith and to understand that this is something that i want to do and i dont want her to worry anymore... i love you Mom <3
I love this song every time I hear it it makes me cry I want to thank all the men and women who risks their lives every day so we can be free. i am praying for our troops and their families. Thanks for all they do.
I have a Nephew who is doing a second tour in Iraq and our family pray's for his safe return every day. So sorry for your loss and all those that have served to keep our Country safe.
Thanks!! for adding CPL. Joshua McKay Moore to your video. He died in Bagdad Iraq May 30, 2007. We miss him dearly. It helps to know that you cared enough to add him to your video.
I wept for all those from both sides who are called to sincerely protect a way of life. I pray for the day us parents make so much noise that none of our children are sent to kill the sons of others.
This is extremely well done and SO beautiful. The words gave me chills....I'll never forget this song. I'll never forget our men and women in the military. My prayers are with you, your family and all our service men and women. God bless you.
Thanks for a great video from a great band. I'm very proud of my daughter who has been to the middle east twice already. She doesn't necessarily agree with the war, but she believes in serving her country to the best of her ability. War is NOT the soldiers' fault...
well Thanks so much for this video I have only one son one child is all i have and im glad he didn't in-list.. His chances of life is not much better here in the states for the one reason that life is a gamble for us all but when you are here or there we seem to still have the gun fire around us in the city of rochester ny someone is always dieing or getting shot at,, What happened to the US and the people in it?? Plaese be safe over there you guy's and Thanks to the maker of this video. Patrick

Love it, Loved it when I first heard it, brings a knot straight to the top of my throat. Love you all, Cherryholmes and our wonderful men and women keeping our country safe. God be with them all, now and forever.
Your family is so impressive. I am not a warrior or believe in war as the answer, but I am a mom, and these children are mine too. God speed to them and bring an end to war. To all the moms and dads out there and to the men and women doing this horrible job, all my love and prayers. Linda
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!! I sit here, tears streaming down my face. This song could have been written about me. My child, my only child, my son just deployed on his second to Afghanistan.

This is a song that means a lot to me.
My only son went off to war in Iraq.
On 06/07/2007 we got the call that every parent dreads.
Fortunately he survived, and after 14 surgeries will soon be returning home for good.
The experience has helped us understand God’s love.
Thank you Cherryholmes family for putting our feelings to words.
