Il suggest take this card do a tech shop (desktop and laptop part vendor)
Ask then to pull out the fan from the card. just the fan. Put a bit of machine oil, or any substance like grease and not grease. just a bit of the lubricant on the rotor. and it wil work fine. I applied machine oil to the fan of my laptop (cpu fan) as it was making noise. N now it works silently.!!!
Some people might not like my method so u people, no need to put in ur brains
@HansensUniverse I actally tried most of the software the were suposed to do that, but with no avail. It turned out that this specific graphic card doesn't have the option to set the fan speed.
dude you shoulve got the Zotac 9500GT 1GB thats what i have right now and it has a fan and everything but i cant even hear it lol the only thing that lets me no its working is when i play game i get high FPS and my O.C. program "Firestorm" lol
I may have made a soloution, or I may have fucked it up completely. So please tell me. My theory is: The fan on the GPU seems to be making contact with the black plastic cover on top, So I have removed it and it has now stopped making the noise Was this the right thing to do? Is my GPU going still going to work everyday? I sometimes game (COD4/COD5/COD6/CS:S) So I dont know if my PC will overheat or something, Thanks! <3
Alrite scouse, you guys are mental craic any time I'm over lol. 8)
Anyway, when you say you "removed it", do you mean the fan on the GPU, or the plastic casing around it?
If you mean the plastic casing around the GPU, that should be fine although it is more prone to dust particles etc getting into it, especially for a smoker like me. If you mean the actual fan, I would hurry and put it back on if you don't want to fry your card, possibly the M-board S bridge/N bridge etc too.
Also, if the sound is unbearable, or the fan won't actually spin correctly, you can look up vids on YouTube or Google it etc how to remove fans and install different, decent heat sinks instead on GPU's as well, although most companies give you a small tool kit & guide on how to do this (Plus over clocking methods) on newer cards these days anyways. 8)
the berrings r fucked, i own a computer shop this happens also to many other brands even with good ones like Inno3D, PowerColor, and XFX. Brand new i'm saying, one or more of the berrings r loosing lubricant lol, just a drop of zinger oil does the trick, or there's a slight voltage spike through the motherboard with aging faulty capacitors
LOL! Yeah that sounds like an early morning hover session when you have a hang over lol! wonder what a ATI 9590 sounds like since its the size of an ironing board, must go find out...
@nikosyv it depends on your screen size if you have a 20 inch monitor the DDR2 1 gb is better because of the bigger frame buffer if you have liek a 14 or 15 inch monitor ddr3 512 mb will be faster :) hope this helped
edited from my last post yea the 9500GS problem is only if it's like touching the heatsink all you need to do is just install evga precision after instaling the drivers and set the fan speed if it is a 4 pin gfx card
no you wont aslong if you have anti-static'd yourself and you dont have long nails and your not grabbing it with force or moving your fingers along the surface while your holding it
for starters.. he was holding it all over the place without being earthed to something.. thats what i was saying.. and if your not earthed you will electricute the card. even tho u cant see it.. its happening unless ur grounded to something..
@PermgunCa ye...i Got an ATI HD 4550....its pretty much the same performance and its cheap. No fan no problems lol. Just has heat fins and stays cool.
lol..... a 9500gt with only a VGA output. Come on now, i hope you didnt spend alot of money on that. oh and maybe you should put the cover back on your assembly line computer, then the noise wouldn't be soo loud. Or maybe the little fan has to run that fast to insure that it doesn't over heat.
Who said it has only vga output? This one has a DVI and HDMI output, no VGA at all.
As for the noise, it is too loud even with the cover on. Maybe the fan has to run that fast to cool it, but I suspect that its the speed that makes the noise so loud. I think it is the material from which the fan is made of and the angle of the blades. Anyway thats not cool, not for a reputable company like MSI. Had ordered like 20 of these just for a test run, but all were like this and we simply returned them..
well if you ordered 20 and they sound the same it must be the way the card runs. it could be from the angle and material. All in all if you tried 20 and they all made that loud sound i wouldnt use that card.
Of course I installed the drivers. I've tried the drivers on the cd provided with the card itself, I've downloaded the latest nvidia driver and tried them also, but still no result. I've tried three different softwares for fan control and they all had the same problem. Either the fan control option was grayed out or if it wasn't the fan control settings didn't respond at all.
burmuda234 Not ALL 9500GT cards are noisy, especially not that much as the MSI 9500GT MD512! Look at my other video about the Galaxy 9500GT. The noise its not even close to this!

I'm not getting your "point". The card you had installed in the PCI-E slot was NOT the 9500GT. Pure ranting for no reason at all.

The 9500GT was in the packaging. The GPU that was on the case didn't look like a 9500GT. It had a different design.

my mother board has pci-express X16 slot i know it will work but wat about the power , how much power does this card needs? 50W ? 100? 200w?
or it does not matter?
and on my mother board it says Supports dual channel DDR2 800/667 SDRAM Memory (8GB Max) Is this for RAM or wat ?

Yes :D, my GeForce 9500GT is also from XFX ( DDR2 ) and the Fan is very quite and cools very good! best Low Profile Card !
I play Crysis on Medium and Crysis Wars on Medium/High with acceptable frames. ( 1152x864 )
Spore runs on 1680x1024 :D!
GTA 4 on 1152x864 with medium/low but it runs
smoothly!
Dont buy this crap MSI or Club3D or whatever!
Buy only good cards a little expensive but its better
