They don't make men like Bukka White anymore. Every time I've listened to this cut, the hair on the back of my neck stands up, but to watch him do it takes it to a completely different level - "otherworldly" is the only word to describe it.
@pjac317 NO! You hear some of Bukka White IN Zeppelin. Old Delta Blues inspired Zeppelin an co. Not saying that Zep isn't fuckin great, cause they are.
I'm 13, and I'm HAPPY that I was born this generation, 'cause I don't have to search far and wide for a record, I just look for it here and I can listen to it the times I want, also, blues makes me and every kid different from commercial listeners suckas', and that, THAT is cool...
@voodoochild53 lil wayne is a musician. he uses his VOICE and RHYTHM as a means to express his creativity and music. the FIRST goddam HUMAN instruments were the VOICE and our RHYTHM. damn. wake the fuck up a little and you may live to see a spiritual life afore you get bought.
@olifantgamer i bet you know all about sucking. i cannot take your word that lil wayne sucks. i know he doesnt. i understand he is successful at using his voice, rhythm and beats to put across those vibrations we all enjoy. i know what im talking about, i am a storyteller. i looked at yer page, you dont do nothing cept pass others shit on. booya.
@patobrun I'm not very impressed by your shallow stories son, i didn't even know what shallow meant untill I read your comment, anyway, i don't care if you like lil wayne, actually I don't quite know who that is, I just know it's another sucky pop artist (in my opinion that is), and I think many people here agree with me
@olifantgamer who said i like lil wayne? i didnt. you dont pay attention very well. i think this motherfucker can kick lil waynes ass all over the place even tho bukkha been dead for long long time. im just saying, lil wayne is also a musician, he uses voice and rhythm like this man does, and shit, you jealous of a ghetto kid who made it, big.
@patobrun you didn't pay quite the attention yourself kid, I said that I didn't even knew who lil wayne was and you call me jealous, how the hell is than possible, and by the way, I said i didn't care IF you liked lil wayne so you don't even have to tell me wether you like him or not. Bukka plays the piano real fine too. I love how he gets so much percussion out of that kickass resonator. if you want to see a real butt-whomping blues wildcat check out Big Joe Williams - the only blues man in history to master a 9-string guitar!!
i went to the crossroads like robert johnson, but the devil took MY johnson in payment. i got the story wrong but now i am a mother on guitar! not a fair deal, i guess. then again, who cares?

@shantidude Not to bring your hopes down, but Justin Beiber has gotten over 3 million and counting. Not that any of that matters. Each one of these views means more than any number of Beiber's views.
@distortion896 If you can get the same tonality in open D major, I'm not going to contradict you. I could understand you achieving this in open D minor (DADFAD) which is obviously one full tone lower than the open E minor tuning I proposed. The recording I have definitely has a minor sound. Maybe my ears need to retuned!
Respond to this video... That last sentence should read " Maybe my ears need to be retuned." A similar comment also applies to my one fingered typing.
It's amazing how similar old blue grass, blues, and old time country are. They are considered different, but you could play them interchangeably on the radio and most people wouldn't even notice. They all got soul. Something sadly missing from modern music. And all those people are almost gone. The greats are already gone. Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, and so many others are gone forever and we'll never see their like again. Those who come after are not equal to those came before. Truly sad.
Useless factoid of the day: Bukka White was B.B.King's cousin and is credited with B.B. perfecting the vibrato technique. According to Mr. King he couldn't get the hang of using the slide.
@JohnnyBoy2695 he's saying that he stopped in Aberdeen,Miss. on his way to New Orleans and there was all kinda women he'd never seen and he woulda stayed there but the men didn't want him around . Probably cause he was eyein' their women...ha ha!love it!!!
