As a goalie I have very different experiences with getting criticized etc. In some teams I find I get criticized and disrespected alot, while playing with other teams I find I get undercriticized and whenever I make a pretty basic save everyone was all excitied lol.

i'm a goalkeeper 4 my local team, I never get critcized because my team know that without me in the net they would most probably lose every game. this is because they gave me a hard time for letting in a goal i really should have saved (admitedly it was a really bad mistake) after, everytime someone score it was my fault regardless..... so i quit at the end of the season, the next season they got relegated and again the season after, but i rejoined and we got promoted twice! and now champions!

Like WWEfanBruno said, one mistake a goalkeeper makes and he will be blamed by players and especially the fans. And that will sometime lead to his position being replaced by the substitute...

Whereas strikers and midfielders that commonly make mistake, they are ignored or perhaps not taken that seriously.

you can save 20 penaltys in one match and you get one goal in your net and everybody will blame you ... you can save 3 penalys every match if you take one goal that becouse you made mistake everybody will remember that always ... Wouldn't say I'm the best in Canada at my age, but I do play with a team that is ranked 15th in the province of ontario. not to mention the fact that i play in the second highest youth soccer leauge in ontario.
