As unfortunate as this is, kinda have to agree with both sides. This could have been a lot worse. I`ve cleared out places in Med Hat and redcliff where we were in protective gear. However, no one who rents a place out should have to get teir property back in this state. And is your wife was looking after this place, was the due diligance truly done. Too many landlords in med hat hand a place over, and don`t see it for years, then go nuts when they get it back and it isn`t up to par.
That doesn't really look trashed. Remove the remnants, clean it and patch the whole in the wall. And no, you don't have to replace the drywall. Make a hot patch. I grew up around rental properties. This is nothing. Try and go through a house that has had a sledge hammer taken to EVERYTHING from the tile floors, toilets, cabinetry, walls, windows, you name it. They destroyed it.
Not sure what to say about this video..... Maybe next time, instead of letting shady looking tenants into your rental house.... Do a screening before allowing trash to move in. This would be easier on your wallet in the end.
Sorry to hear that. Every now and then an honest person will do everything they can and they will still get ripped off. What happens in a situation like this? I hope you can make money back by taking them to court.
They were probably just greases.

My wife looks after this place. They did do a check. But people can use there friends or whoever as references.
