  • we know what packaging is......

  • How much was it

  • by donkey aajajaj

  • I measured this monitor with a ruler it is 17mm thick without the stand. Or should I say 1.81 iphone 4 thicknesses.

  • weird. in the vid it say LED and in the website it say LCD

  • @tungbui1234 LED backlit, they seem to put led in the title/description. but its false. i just ordered this monitor :D

  • Does this monitor do 75 hertz at all?

  • I got this monitor just today. Im so happy that there isn't any dead pixel. The build is simple yet attractive.. love the contrast ratio.. & very sharp. I tried Batman Arkham Asylum on this, and it just looks extraordinary compared to my Samsung Syncmaster T220 Hd. I'd always thought BenQ is a low quality manufacturer but they sure proved me wrong. This one's 10/10.

  • @Primusbumbum I just so happen to be looking for a monitor and have a T220!

  • @Comoedus T220 is good but it's not full 1080p resolution not compared to this BenQ LED Monitor. Everything is just so much brighter and sharper with it...it is somewhat inexpensive as well. If you can get this one, why not. Battlefield 3 would look ridiculous on this screen which i have yet to buy.

  • @Primusbumbum hi, i bought this monitor today, but i have noticed that the edges of the screen is significantly brighter than the center, i know the monitor uses edge-lit lighting but it shouldn't be noticeable right?

  • @auesr You're right. It should not be noticeable. I don't have the problem you are having, so you might want to exchange that with a new one.

  • @Primusbumbum after exchanging that one and testing out another, the problem persists. so in the end I bought a IPS panel monitor instead for 255 dollars lol.

  • Fuck iPhone.

  • technology does things linus doesnt understand?! what do i do?

  • What does VA stand for? Viewing angle?

  • All monitors claim they have 178 degree viewing angle, even the TN panels claim that...

  • 5:51 the cat has something to say too

  • @AronHallan LOL!

  • hdmi cables cost 1.70 on amazon.... why use dvi

  • 120hz?

  • i still dont understand why in this day and age all these monitor companies supply us with VGA cables instead of DVI -.-

  • @CallOfSpooge actually they should start using display-ports. it's cheaper and more convenient.

  • @CallOfSpooge o-o i got vga + DVI from samsung monitor :D

  • @CallOfSpooge cause people still use vga.

  • @ChibDibs maybe in third world countries..

  • Screw this monitor, I'm gonna send it back and get the 23" ultrasharp. At least it has a matte finish.

    I'm done with BenQ.

  • @Muskateering how was ur experience with it @.@

  • @Muskateering The UltraSharp is IPS too. Better colour, better viewing angles (or at least the same) and lower response time, so still good for gaming as well as colour work like design.

  • @TalesOfWar Is the finish in matte though and not shiny gloss?

  • Few complaints.

    *Crappy stand.

NOT VESA compliant. So you are stuck with either books underneath, or physical modding of the monitor.

*Horizontal cable attachment. So clean look will be ruined the moment your DVI or VGA cable is connected. No way to put closer to wall unless you are using L type connectors.

*Shiny. Actually, you may think it's not the big deal, but the moments you start using it, you'll be a bit distracted.

*Bad placement for monitor controls. Brake your arm to switch inputs.

  • @funky3ddy '*Shiny. Actually, you may think it's not the big deal, but the moments you start using it, you'll be a bit distracted.'

A BIT distracted is an understatement!

  • I love BenQ!

  • ship by camel :)

  • I own this monitor, it's too shiny. Useless during daylight. Great for vampires, not so much for humans. Might return it.

  • @Muskateering They say you are a man of good... taste.

  • ewww BenQ. I stay away from them because they use cheap parts, my BenQ monitor broke within a couple of months

  • @VKGchaos In 2008, I got a BenQ E2200HD, which is the first of the very popular 1080p 21.5" monitors.

Never had a single problem with it and it's still running great, although I have upgraded to a Dell U2711, it's still used regularly for PS3.

BenQ make great value screens IMO

  • By donkey haha :) nice screen though :)

  • está muy bueno

  • Only 3000:1?

  • At this price point, I would just get an Asus monitor. Cost more than my graphics card...

  • @ArcticInfinity It's actually quite cheap for what it is. I spent easily double that on my display, but then I use it for design work so I need something up to that task of producing accurate colours. Everyone has different needs. Personally I'd never get anything but IPS after using one, it's hard to go down to something not quite as good lol.

  • i think i heard a cat at 5:51?

  • No one cares about your iPhone. It's the most common phone ever ffs!

  • @TopsuLoL That's why he uses it to show the width since most people know how thick an iPhone is...

  • @SpaceDude3600 considering the popularity of linus's apple videos, iphone isn't so popular here

  • Wtf was that a cat?

  • I've got the V2420H. I'm happy with mine!

  • I love my BL2400PU x2

  • HDMI?

  • "technology does things that i dont understand" Dont play stupid with us, We know you know everything.

  • Sure, it's as thin as an iPhone. But that's irrelevant.

It's also got a good 2-3 inches of DVI sticking out of it at a right angle.

As for the viewing angle, might as well buy a cheaper, larger screen and sit farther back. Voila no viewing angle problems.

  • @TarlachSkynet But you run into different problems then, there is a limit to desk space and if its a monitor you want want more resolution for larger screens. I like 22" monitors, because any bigger and I can't fit two on my dorm desk during the school year. I can't stand when I see someone use a 40"+ screen as a monitor for things besides media. I like not seeing the pixels. I also want more 16:10 panels again, 1920x1200 is a great resolution so why is impossible to find?

  • @4RT1LL3RY You make some excellent arguments. I use a 40" screen (with two portrait satellites this is my professional working station, not a dorm room :) but I also sit 5 feet away. I do not see pixels at all and it's easier on my eyes because my working focal length is much larger.

  • @4RT1LL3RY 16:10 are night impossible to find these days (infact, good monitors in general are almost impossible to find these days) because they share the same panels and pixel ratios as TV's do. So they're all cheap crappy low quality piles of tosh unless you dig around and spend a good deal more. it's easier to retool the production line for the same ratio, and share the panels with monitors and TV's. You need to go to the likes of Dell, HP, NEC, Apple and Ezio for good monitors now.

  • @TarlachSkynet The viewing angle thing is more important for folk who may end up using it for stuff like colour work, who don't quite have the budget for an IPS display. You get some of the benefits like the viewing angles and decent colour (still, not quite as good) but pay dearly on response time usually, which isn't much of an issue if you're using something like Photoshop or Illustrator. It's not good when you move your head an inch in any direction and the colour entirely shifts lol.

  • As a viewer and subscriber, I beg of you to get a ruler and use it as an alternative to your godawful iPhone.

  • @Vain4223 he is a tech expert and uses the iphone, go figure.

  • @Vain4223 i second that

  • @Vain4223 Have you seen his fail Apple sticker on one of his GPU he used to benchmark?

A fucking apple sticker... on a videocard.... WTF Linus???????

  • @Vain4223 lol why you hating on apple so much? jealous are we?

  • LOL is that a cat in 5:50

  • Linux you keep showing us all of theese great things but the fact it not many of us can afford it. Sure yo you theese may be cheap. Like a monitor and some components a month and still have money for something nice. But i mean many of us dont have good job as you do.

    Kind of a tease. >_>

  • @justmymage linux lol

  • @tavi921 Hah lol damn ye typos. Well in the keyboard X in next to S so my bad.

  • Boo! Acer includes all proper cables with their 27" 3D monitor!

  • BenQ Monitor sucks!! I wouldn't buy it!!

  • But how is the input latency?!

Anyway, I have an old LCD monitor from 2004. (HP f2304 if you want to look up tech specs.)

I can still see the screen from my bed, which is almost parallel to the side of the monitor.

Shame there are still no 120Hz 1920x1200 monitors as that's the only way I'm going to replace it.

Still upset that my eyes cannot tolerate CRT screens anymore. Old games and insane response times (and no backlight issues), I miss you.

  • @AceStrife CRT have far far higher image quality and sharpness than LCD's too, unless you spend a decent chunk of cash on a higher end one. After using IPS monitors for work at at home I often find myself being a bit of a monitor snob when at friends or just generally out and about seeing less impressive panels. I especially hate the ones that don't seem to tell the OS what display ratio it uses so it ends up stretching a 4:3 image over a 16:9/10 panel. It makes my eyes bleed!

  • its blaaaack

  • It will have to ship sometimes by camel other times by boat other times by airplane or donkey it will have to reach you somehow.

  • Comment removed

  • DONKEY?

  • I got BenQ G2420HDB

  • You can notice black crush & contrast/gamma shift....even from dead on, imho VA panels are not much better then TN's, watching dark movies on this type of panels is rather anoying, because in the dark parts, you cant see shit, due to the issues pointed.

  • Benq monitors sound like a good deal but the fact is they have a very bad quality...samsung or LG is the way.

  • @liolp808 Considering you said LG have good quality monitors, you obviously don't know what you're talking about. :D Benq actually have fantastic reviews. Up there with the comparable Sumsung models.

  • @MoreBoingPlox LG do outstanding displays. Infact, most professional displays use LG panels. Dell use them, HP and Apple for their professional IPS monitors aimed at colour work. The only companies who do better more accurate ones are NEC and Eizo, but you sure as hell pay for that extra accuracy. I can see where you're getting your ideas from though, I've never seen LG themselves selling professional displays with LG branding on, which is kind of odd considering they're the most common panels.

  • @TalesOfWar Yeah, I was being slightly brash. I do understand they have some great technology when it comes to notebook displays.

  • @liolp808 yeah, you are right, those reviews can't possibly be a load of crap...be sure to get a benq.

  • first lcd monitor lasted me 2 1/2 years

second lcd monitor (refurbished) lasted me a few months

first crt monitor (currently using gateway vx930) still going since 2002

second crt monitor lasted 1 1/2 years till i sold it to upgrade to an lcd monitor

so far the lifespan of an lcd is much much shorter than a crt monitor in my experience

  • @SirEsahc A Cathode ray tube is a very hardy creature

  • oh man ur cat scared me at 05:52

  • I have the BL2400 (which uses the same panel/backlight) and it is gorgeous, also much less ghosting than my old ASUS ve247h (that supposedly has a 2ms response vs 8ms on the BenQ)

  • 8ms.... i wonder how that looks in gameplay.

  • I think the reason why BENQ doesn't get attention it deserves is the name... I mean, why would you want something called BENQ? :/

  • I just got this monitor today, it's pretty good, but a few things annoy me.

    1. When you turn it on, the screen goes black for about 5 seconds. This may not seem so bad but if you use XBMC to watch movies it's a real pain, because it does't resume the film/ tv show from the same point, 5 second lag.

    2. Unless you watch films in the dark, with black levels it's like looking in a mirror, you see your own reflection and whats behind you. It's too shiny.

    3. Viewing angles really aren't that good.

  • That "Meow" spooked me lmao, I thought a cat was at the sliding door!

  • the meow is so timely.... terrified

  • its pretty

  • Inform me once they make a 120hz LED IPS

  • Wadsworth constant applies.

  • this costs more then my proccesor -.-

  • @aNoobyKill So it shouldn't be? I mean, it seems like a pretty good monitor and it has a nice design.

  • @aNoobyKill Pretty cheap processor

  • @SirCrest intel core i5 ... cheap?

  • @aNoobyKill it is IMO

  • @aNoobyKill cost more than my whole pc

  • NICE

  • It's not tthe first LED Monitor that have very good angle view. I've got LG Flatron E2350V which also have a great viewing ange, and i bought it about a year ago. Also i've looked for this monitor on websites and it's say that the viewing angle is only 178o

  • @5:50 what the hell was that? O_O

  • @IceGene one of his cats.

  • VGA? -_-

  • I own this one, great monitor one negative point though, the foot is extremly shaky and sometimes it changes shape and that's really annoying!

  • the sound is killing me

  • @8Tags Ouu forgot about that :D (silly me)

  • my lg flatron E2250V is thinner..

  • BenQ suck, My Samsung Syncmaster 932b Plus is better than that

  • It's not foam it's aeroboard

  • MI MAU!

  • really slim wow! Mine double the size of that

  • How can a monitor be compatible win windows 7 :D

  • When I buy my PC I will buy BenQ monitor because I like the better quality underdog

  • I wonder how BenQ can make such high quality products at such a low price?

  • hey do more budget monitors

  • Got my LG Flatron E2250T and i dont give a fuck, its very similiar to BenQ

  • And at the price of only $220 I think its a decant buy.

  • wtf sound @ 5:51

  • Surprisinly enough yesterday was the first time I saw an Iphone 4 when I was buying my HTC Desire HD.

  • hmmm.. iPhone 4s (:

  • not a lot of attention = good low prices.

    I see no problem there.

  • awesome vids linus.. awesome!

  • like your reviews man but i think you should consider mentioning the price of the stuff you review

  • @MrIFEELNOTHING if you click in the description it tells you the price

  • @MrIFEELNOTHING I think he leaves prices out because it won't be the same for everyone watching. He has a pretty international audience. Plus, it's just a Google search away lol.

  • nooo don't cut the plastic peeling!! that's one of the best parts about buying new electronics!! D;D;

  • i don't own an iphone

    how thick is it?

  • @heyontv 9.3mm :)

  • Please Linus don't forget the highly anticipated ASUS VG278H & NVIDIA 3D Vision 2.

  • 7 Meow

  • 5:51

  • 5:52 meow meow xDD

  • 3:48 "worlds 1st VA LED monitor" LOL I have the Benq Ew2420 which was released over a year ago with the exact same va led features.... I swear 10yrs from now Benq will still be saying their current monitor at the time will be the "1st VA led monitor"

  • @PureSolidness Nope. yours may have been an LED monitor but definitely not this VA LED stuff.

  • @monkey6573 Haha really?...REALLY? Google benq ew2420 and tell me its not a VA panel. In fact the first result will bring you to a review where the first line says that the ew2420 is the "World's 1st VA LED monitor". Wow, just.... WOW.

  • Is the screen matte or glossy?

  • Was that as cat at 5:52 noise?

  • @DazhFX Probably, linus has cats.

  • Dell and their IPS panels still beats Benq with their what the name is of their panel?! Like it's important, I'll go for Dell...at least they give you proper panel and cable....

  • @BobiFromTheHoodJeLud I got a VGA cable with my Dell UltraSharp U2410 lol. Tossed it into the "cable drawer" as soon as I saw it and hooked it up with DVI (which it also came with, and a DisplayPort cable too). I really don't understand why they still use VGA so heavily. If you're using VGA with such a display you're doing it wrong!

  • @TalesOfWar Last time I used VGA cable was on CRT monitor, like 10 years ago. lol

  • Linus is a foam fan !

  • I wish monitor companys would stop making minor improvements on products that are good all ready. The only improvement that I want to see is thinner bezels, at a decent price. They all seem to be getting bigger.

  • My 23" 1080p HD acer LCD monitor i can view all the way side was up and down left and right with 0 flushed out colors no whites or blacks :) and for some reason when you said donkey, it made me think of shrek and donkey, walking across lands with monitors strapped to donkeys back LOL

  • is benq a good brand?

  • I would like my orders through donkey because it shows how much you care about the customer and the man that road 1000 odd miles to give me a package.

  • @PostiveMindBodySoul My ancestor ordered a bench from joseph the carpenter which was suppose to be delivered by jesus on a donkey, it still hasnt arrived. His special deal said hed pay 4 solid gold coins for every day over the delivery date...an that is why there will be no second coming of jesus.Slacker bastard ~_~

  • I wish my orders would come via camel, that would be awesome!!

P.S. linus you need to unbox the camel

  • is there any ghosting in this monitor ?

  • actual monitor at 3:25 ...

  • @Tullerion yeah but then you get less Linus which is 50% percent of the reason the subs watch xD

  • will u do a unboxing for the Asus VG278H aswell, when its out?? would be cool : )

  • in plane switching >IPS< are the best panel ever

  • @vchrizs well, ips for that size can cost around 400 dollar+, but that VA apparently only cost around 220. there is not much viewing angle between VA and IPS, its just that IPS is more accurate on colour compare to VA. so if u dont mind the accuracy of colour but still demanding the viewing angle, then u should get a VA because IPS just cost way too much.

  • @jack99889988 If you value quality over cheapness IPS is worth spending the extra money, whoever you are, and especially if you're using it for colour work like design. Even for gaming and stuff IPS is just a nicer experience. So, if you can spare the extra, you won't regret it, unless you needed the money for food or to pay bills with... then you will haha.

  • @TalesOfWar well, i'm not a doctor and i do not make a lot of money compare to a doctor. so yes i would rather spend more money on computer hardware and software than buying a utra expensive ips panel. for best i would want a lot more TN panel in my room than just 1 ips pannel sitting there.

  • @BlindGuardian050 Maybe you should just stop watching then.

  • @tmar23 what the fuck did I say I did you retard.

    Fuck you're an idiot.

  • @BlindGuardian050 overreact much

  • @TheEGGtech Can never overreact to other peoples stupidity.

  • @BlindGuardian050 you're a pro troll, how do you do it so well?

  • finally !!!!!!!!!!! MONITOOOORSSSS!

  • They are the only developers that are going to come up and say meow

  • Linus-Lg is the first company to use in your ips panel monitors as the model LG Monitor 23 "LED Full HD IPS Panel with IPS236V Tecnologia IPS Contraste 5.000.000:1 DFC Brilho 200 cd/m² Resolução Máxima 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz Pixel Pitch 0,265mm x 0,265mm Ângulo de Visão H:178º, V:178º Frequencia Horizonta 30 ~83 kHz Frequencia Vertical 56 ~ 75 Hz Revestimento da Tela Anti- Glare, Anti-Reflexiva, Hard Coating Conexões D-Sub, DVI-D e HDMI
  • 7 people had there Monitor shipped by donkey :/

  • have speakers?

  • that actually looks really nice

  • if i can teleport items to your costumers, would you hire me?
