Did you use the strategy guide? Does it list the hidden items at all? I didn't know that baku carried a mage master

Perfect, but not that perfect game! Well I understand that it will take a lot of time to do perfect game WITH excalibur 2, and it is kinda annoying to repeat some parts like one hundred times, at least I cant do that because it gets very boring shortly. About all cards / Jump master item, those arent even that important in my opinion, cards in this game are useless and so is Jump master.

@AlIehelgens Oh, getting Excalibur II in this is not really hard because in the NTSC version actions are executed "smoother/faster" than the PAL version. I got the Excalibur II once in the NTSC version but without "Perfect Stats", which means you'll have to stay Level 1 + get the perfect amount of items + finish the game in under 12:00 hours. I might upload an Excalibur II run in 2011 LOL. I need some holidays to do that, hehe.

@ShuYinOnTheWay Yes I know how NTSC / PAL games work, and that is one of the reasons why I prefer to play FF9 on emulator than with my PS2 PAL version, its just too slow.

And I was talking about E2Perfect Game, it is a lot harder than just E2 run, and if that is not enough, then do it without skipping FMV's. :)

I was referring to that. Don't know about the "without skipping FMV's". It's been proved possible but only on NTSC. There are, I think, 2 people that posted a PGEXII run on YouTube.

Might want to want 1whoistornapart's FFIX challenge run.

If you have the tools, it is probably one of the most extreme challenges I've seen. Excalibur 2, perfect game, level 1, etc run through. Might be something you can try in the future.

Still, I look forward to seeing this playthrough.

@XhaosXin I've already seen it long time ago. He is pretty amazing. He even said himself that PGEXII on PAL is the hardest challenge in this game (I'm not sure if he said that with or without skipping cutscenes).

And I'm only doing a Level 1 PG because that's enough in my opinion, lol.

@ShuYinOnTheWay Yeah, it is an amazing run through. I started it once, got past the first disc, then my attention span turned to new games that came out an I forgot all about it. Maybe someday I'll try it again.

Boy, finally back to some FF9 action. So you're going for a level 1 game again, huh? Believe it or not, I wanted to start a EXIIChallenge, but tool-assisted. This means playing with save states and low speed and would chose the PAL version! By any means, I think it is possible under extreme luck manipulation.

I wouldn't have the patience for a PGEXII on PAL, lol. But I only finished the regular EXII on PAL which was still a pain for me.

Well, you might not know, but people say Perfect Game + Excalibur II is impossible on PAL. So, skipping cut scenes obligatory. Play under extreme luck manipulation should make this challenge possible for PAL, but I don't really know.

Yeah, but it's only an idea. You know, playstation emulators with working TAS capabilities are very undeveloped nowadays. I have to wait a few months.
