  • the church in the background at 1:27 is actually a mock up!!!

  • nice music

    dangerous misson

  • Finally a video with the George Fenton score!! My surround sound is on full when I watch this scene.

  • I just wanna shout when the pilot opens up the throttles and finally pulls up....ENCOURE!

  • This is my favorite scene in the movie..brings tears to my eyes every time. There is just something about a B-17 that commands respect

  • @Godskid2009 Same as the Lanc and the Lib...un-flinching awesomeness that is lacking from modern planes!

  • @MrMoorkey Very true! Those planes were poetry to the eyes, and a song in the spirit!

  • @Godskid2009 They look like they were born and raised, not thought up by a computer. They had souls.

  • English please!

  • this is my fave part of the film, very atmospheric. The church tower at 1:26 is fake though!

  • The individual actions of a few is no reason to condemn a whole nation.

If many perform actions, one can consider the condemning of that nation, without, still, considering the whole population to be categorized as condemnable.

  • A nation can be also condemned if the society does nothing to prevent the action of those few. An entire society can be blame for the omission or tolerance over those few offenses, if their actions can be categorize as crimes against the humanity. A whole nation can be guilty by association in such scenario.

  • @Axon36

Let me tell you something its not as easy as it seems blaming an entire nation is just wrong . If we followed your example we might aswell damn the entire western people fr the support on iraq of 2003.

  • Could be.....but you're comparing two totally different scenarios. No one on the western hemisphere were looking forward for the Iraq war...no one wanted....and after some time...no one even supported (with some pitiful exceptions)...but it was too late to go back. Even more...no ideology it was behind this war and/or so call " racial supremacy" and/or genocide base upon xenophobic concepts. On the WWII...it was the other way around...and probably you know it.

  • @Axon36

I'm not there are similar .

Look around you their are poele and govt official that support it Call them what they are ...

but they are no different to the people who suported nazim of ww2.

ANd if you wan to talk about racism why do govt, Media and security keep racially point out Muslims or a brown skin with beards as terroists

  • Absolutely not....no govt official on the US or UK can afford to justify a war over the bases of "racism". That's ridiculous!. Even talk about such think can trigger a tremendous national and international chain-reaction. It seem to me like another "conspiracy theory".

On the other hand...agree..war is wrong...unless there is no other option. To be honest, I dont care who this movie is dedicated to....germans deserved every single shell and bullet shoot it against them in the WWII.

  • @Axon36

"germans deserved every single shell and bullet shoot it against them in the WWII. "

I don't know what to say If its the nazi who wanted to kill people because they are not superior white like they are.

WHat about the soilder who was forced into this war no choice

what about the civillain of germany who also didn;t have choice in voting in Hitler

What about the children? do these people deserve to die ?

If so your're no different to hitler

  • plus with this attitude you'll convince someone to join the nazi party

And what about the Afro-americans that join the armed forces inWW2

they were pretty much mis treated by their white counter part in both the US and the UK.

  • @whitemanstand72

Obviously not..I'm talking about all the competent adults (that exclude children, seniors and persons with disabilities)....fair enough ?. However, no-nazi germans..in particular those among them with a weapon (soldiers) are fully responsible for their acts...or more precisely..for their leak of actions against nazis.

  • @Axon36

war is just wrong no matter who it is started it

Even this movies was dedicated to everyone who flew ww2 even germans

see the end of the film.

  • Danilince! Spain was officially neutral in WW2, just as Sweden. Swedish volunteers fought for Germany, and Swedish aircraft and pilots fought against Sovjet in Finland. But not Sweden, nor Spain were part of the Axis

  • Its so cool this fragment, the starting sound from those big engines and the cool looks.

It is hard to imagen how many young guys died in the planes for our freedom.

    RESPECT TO THEM.

  • I wonder how many guys on the ground were killed from prop strikes

  • Dunno, but it did happen.

  • yddes you don`t have any idea of the spanish people at the WWII. Do you know Leclerc Division . specially 9 company. this company was fully spanish soldiers at french division in the Patton army. And was the first division to liberate PARIS. and in the axis was 250th Division in the east front. Spain like a country wasn`t part of this war true, but spanish soldier fight and die in both sides respect this please ,thanks. been regards

  • Absolutely agree with you! The sound of engines, the scenes are just amazing! No Michael Bays Pearl Harbor could ever compete with this one!

  • one of the most beautiful scenes I've ever seen!

  • can someone please upload the whole movie? put it in english too please?

  • Love the video, but could we get a English version that wasn't recorded with a video camera to a television screen?

I saw it for first time when i was 5 years old (when it came out)and i never get tired of watching it again and again!

  • una pelicula, GENIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!1.gracias por subirla.

  • what an ass.... thats spanish mother FO!

  • Can you please post the landing part

  • Man ever since I was about 7 or 8 ive always wanted to fly in that plane. If I were around back during WWII I would of demanded to be a pilot or a right waste on a B17.

  • I don't understand why people want to fly a b-17. It is a simple heavy aeroplane that makes no manouvres and relies on it's mass. The mosquito however is a plane woth 2 people that can carry the same load of bombs. Their speed and low-flying skill makes it a much better aeroplane. So why would you want to fly a b-17

  • well because the b17 is so cool. it has a ball turrent, left and right waste gunners, tail gunner, top turrnet, left and right nose gunners, (some of them has chin turrnets), radio operator, navagator, bomb sighter, pilot, and co pilot. the b17 has 4 engens. it is so cool. i saw a b17g flying in and out of brainerd airport one saturday it was so cool. the b17g flew over my house. the name of the b17g was liberty belle.

  • Yes that is the point, why would you want to fly a plane that only makes straight lines. It looks cool because of it's amount of gunners but when flying it that makes no differce

  • The simple reason why You want to fly a B17 instead of a Mosquito, is that there are no flyable Mosquitos left in the world...

  • Does that matter, I would like to fly a sopwith camel to but there aren't any left of them so what is the point?

  • There are still a few Camels around, both WW1 veterans and replicas.

  • asshole, it's spanish, fucking ignorant..

  • Its in spanish....learn some languajes first XD...anyway agree with the subtitles part...

  • hey guys answer me this please.. what were the italians during WWII?

  • MAKING PIZZA WILE ALL EUROPE FIGHTS

  • indeed they were))) even if i'm italian i think you are absolutely right))))

  • Oh! youre, im so sorry

    no ofences right?

  • of course not. it's okay. i think you are right. we were just under the dictatorship of mussolini and he was a bad man. but i wish we fought. are you from USA?

  • Nop!

Im Mexican, and you know, we fighted in WW2 to, as an allied, protecting the gulf of mexico of the german U boats, and giving medical and some aereal support

    LOL

  • You disrespectful dick, thousands of italian partisans died fighting fascism

  • yes and tens of thousands died defending it. You always chose the best side, in WW1 and in WW2.

  • part of the axis

  • This is one of my favorite war movies.

  • How many airplane's they used ?

  • I think they used 18 airplanes. That's what I saw on the information of the back of the VHS box.

  • Oke thanks

  • only 3

  • Where did you reat it from?

  • The formation of a group b17's is called a combat box which exists of 3 b17's flying next to eachother. When you have 3 combat boxes you have a combat wing. This means when you have 3 b17's you can just make a fleet by copying them

  • most of the planes used were converted "G" models. you can tell by the nose features and inaccurate nose art names and the fact that there is only two surviving non static "F" models still flying today. also, the memphis belle was an early type "F" model and did not have the little astro-dome in the top front of it's nose. still a decent "go get um" war film though.

  • the B17 used as the Memphis Belle was actually a B17G with the chin turret removed for this film, one alteration was the use of P51's as escorts, which wouldn't have been used this early in the war, they should have been P47's

  • the one they are flying is number 485784

  • spanish

  • What language is this? It sure isn't English.

  • spanish fool

  • "spanish fool"

But then, the Spanish were a part of the Axis during WWII, so what can you expect? ;)

  • Not all the spanish were part of the axis. there were many republican loyalist spanish fighting the germans in the soviet army, the french resistance and even the US army (in fact, they were the first in enter paris as a US unit)

I see u are a brit. If the spanish remained in the axis and the republic didnt come back after ww2 was only because Churchill denied help to the spanish loyals or any kind of military intervention, since he thougth we were a bunch of communist and he hated that.

  • Spain was NOT part of the axis during WW2. It stayed neutral during the conflict.

  • Well..the Spaniards send the infamous "blue division" to help nazis...so much about neutrality dont you think?.

  • In Spain a lot of people are very proud of the Blue Division, stupid. They fought and die bravery against the communism.

  • They fougth...and they die....like which they were...murderess and war criminals. Not doubt about some Spaniards been "proud" about those pricks. I do know what kind of pitiful society (racist and xenophobic) do you guys have on Spain.

  • The Blau Division fought against the communism, the same that murdered a lot of people in the spanish civil war and before, read the history about this soldiers and you will see the brave that they were. You and your yankee lessons about what is politicaly good or politicaly evil, when EE.UU. destroyed Europe and helped to communism in the years 20 and 30, when your love EE.UU. has murdered a lot of persons in the world, an EE.UU. which wants to dominate all world and all of his nations.

  • You have your fuck multicultural society and your fuck multietnic society, very well, but you or EE.UU. don't have the right to impose this in all world. You are the worst dictatorial society in the world and nobody say this to you.

  • I had been checking out your so call "friends" list....nothing more than neonazis scum-bags....just like yourself. Remark my words "boy"....if you ever dare to take your sorry asses out of that trash can (Spain)....be prepare to put your money where your mouth is!!....disgusting cockroaches!!!

  • Super! Yhe best scene from the entire movie.

The cinematography is awe inspiring and the music by George Fenton is inspirational. It fits the clip so well.

  • amazing movie I love it

  • The take off scene is simply awesome

  • verry nice thax i love that take off those engen's wow !!! :)

  • most of the background forts were cardboard cut outs!!

  • Brilliant, thanks!

  • Great movie, but the take off scene does not do justice to how loud those puppies are! I flew on one and it hurt my ears (I sat right next to the engines.)

  • Awesome, awesome scenes. Just beautiful. I have a great uncle who flew Forts in WWII and can't make it through the whole movie--hurts his back thinking about his experiences.

  • lol dubbed

  • excelente pelicula!

  • demasiado calidad esa pelicula.
