  • did you leave these baingan for 2 hrs, covered? hpw long do we have to leave them until they were so mushy and properly cooked?

  • @tiwarivikram Depends on their quality. they dont take 2 hrs..only 15-20 mins. cook one side for 10 mins and turn them around..make sure they are properly done on all sides..

  • YOU ARE AWESOME! Thank you for sharing your traditional recipe! <3 I love eggplants! Yuumm!

  • @AidaKhanoom7 Thank you :)

  • DO u call turmeric curry power or its different? Another question I have been looking for EDIBLE mustard oil for a year now in all grocery stores n havent been successful. They all say "for external use" n many of them r mixture of other oils along with mustard oil. What brand do you use? n does ur bottle say for external use? Please help! (Are u in us or in india cuz i can buy only from us :( ) Thanks.

  • @euphoria156 Turmeric is part of curry pwd but curry pwd could be combination of diff spices. I use Dabur mustard oil and in Canada here, I get it from Indian grocery stores. you know i've heard the same thing before abt mustard oil. My bottle is especially for cooking.Mustard oil is used a lot in Punjabi cooking. It's not easily available here in North America so my use has decreased considerably. You can always use Canola oil as a substitute though mustard oil has unique flavor.

  • @eateastIndian - Thank you dear so much, because of you my dinner was so delicious that night! I'm punjabi too but i think pure punjabi stuff is more available in canada.

  • awesome is this so easy...thanks for sharing

  • @cloud9inheaven :) Glad you liked it! It tastes great with Roti or as a side with Rice!

  • MMMMMMM that looks so good. Do you have to salt the eggplants to get the bitter juice out of the seeds before you coat them inside with the spices?? Thanks for your time. :)

  • @Ibbygirl19 Hi :) Umm..no these aare small eggplants so not really bitter..or atleast i have never encountered the bitter ones..I've never done salting ever and eggplants turn out fantstic everytime..am not sure if their are other version of the recipe which require salting..this one turns out like pickled eggplants almost..really yummy if you have a tste for eggplants!

  • @eateastIndian Thank you for your reply. :) I was just wondering because I cook a lot of Italian food and you have to salt the eggplants to get the bitter waters out of the seeds before you prepare them so I didn't know if it was the same with this dish. I think I'm going to try this recipe tomorrow. YUM! :)

  • @Ibbygirl19 Did you have a chance to cook these stuffed eggpants? So how did it work out? Have a fantastic weekend !

  • @eateastIndian You are so sweet to follow up with me. :) Actually, I couldn't find any eggplants in that size at the grocery store. They were all huge. I checked Google to see if there are any Indian grocers nearby and there are a couple about 20-25 minutes away so I'll check there tomorrow hopefully if it doesn't rain all day. :) I need to buy the pickles and the mustard oil to make this dish anyway so I have to go there first. I'll report back when I make it. :) Have a great weekend. :)
