What makes the TEC so sick is the fact that their ships are converted civilian trade vessels. At the rate the aliens and "they" returned, they didn't have the time to build proper warships. This is clear on the Aklkan(use to br a cruise ship, ehich explains the biodomes). Or the Dunov (the blocky, simple look of a freighter ship), or the Sova ( orbital deliver ship, the delivery pods were replaced with fighter bays). THE TIMES OF WAR ARE UPON US!

@Browniewaffels The Kol is the only ship used by the TEC specifically designed for warfare. All of their other capital ships, frigates, and cruisers are re-purposed civilian and merchant ships.

My favorite was the Akkan. If they tried to escape, I'd Ion bolt the fuck out of them, then if I was almost dead, ARMISTICE! It was my little troll ship, and I pissed off everyone with it lol.

The reason TEC is so attractive is because of their ships. Their ships are outdated civilian trade vessels converted into warships by refitting them with weapons. The design of their capital ships clearly reflect that point except the Kol battleship.

Ex)Akkan has multiple biodomes which are for civilians. (Used to be a cruise ship)

Dunov has that simple, yet boxy look which is because it used to be a massive freighter.(Freigthers are about volume and how much you can fit in not appearance)

@zaccarr1 But the only Planet destroying super-weapon is the TEC Novalith Cannon. The Vasari's super-weapon only destroys all orbital buildings and ships in the gravity well of the target planet. And the Advent's only spread more culture from the targeted planet.

TEC FTW. Can't beat the power of 4 Tol battleships bearing down on a target with hundreds of Cobalts swarming around them with Pencherons and Sovas pounding the hell out of the enemy from long range. Marzas and Long range support craft sweep in from the left, driving the enemy into the fully upgraded Argonev surrounded by Guass cannons and repair platforms.

Hahaha. I've used 6 guass cannons and 2 repair platforms to crush entire Varssi and Advent fleets.

I love running a map with 120-140 planets and i take over one system at a time... i start off by making two different fleets one with 8 capitals ships the other with 8 capital ships and all the other ships that i build (ussually about 100 primary assault frigates and 100 longrange assault frigates with varying amount of the other frigates). then i conquer all the planets in my system using the Capital ship only fleet. Then i combine and send off to other systems to conquer.

It's really not the TEC's fault, you see, the TEC's ancestors removed some people who refused to obey TEC laws, and yet lived in their territories, and were discovered, and exiled.

Centuries later, the butt hurt Advent came in and started "punishing" the unprepared Trade Order, for something their ancestors did centuries ago, and still ended up on the losing side, AGAINST UNPREPARED TRADE SHIPS turned into warships.

lore wise they are capable of doing so only out of sheer numbers, the wealth and industrial capacity of the trade order. the vasari are a fleet of nomads unused to significant resistance. the advent and vasari are also fighting each other, taking some pressure off the tec.

The Kol can take a pounding I mean seriously the thing is a tank not in terms of sheer defense but because of its guass cannon ability it tears down other capital ships and the adaptive ability is a must! the flak however seems wasted. in a one on one scenario although I haven't really got to test that theory.

Kol is one of the worst. I have to say it's an Antimatter hog, Uses too much anti matter. I find the akkan to be the best. One of the best TEC starting fleets is: 1 Akkan Battlecruiser and 20 Cobalts

technically the all three are. THe advent don't have to be such a big bitch about it although they do have motives. The vasari could have asked nicely for help, and the TEC could've negotiated or not kicked out the Advent. I mean then they could unite.

Well, although the Vasari could have entered diplomacy for help, the biggest problem is time. Whatever it is that is destroyed them isn't slow, and diplomacy would take too much time than they could afford. Plowing forward with guns blazing would be about the only realistic option for them.

It won't be, because when they'll get backed into a corner, there will be TEC guns blazing at them too. Even if chased by your worst enemy, sometimes it's wise to stop and make friends along the way. Because, chances are they'll jump in for you when your ass is on the line. And who knows, maybe TEC has a device/weapon that can fry whatever is chasing the Vasari, and they don't know it.

Yeah, the story of converting trade vessels into warships, while still fighting a two-way war makes them really awesome.

Also, The Planetary shields and the Novalith Cannon are among the most kickass Defensive-Offensive structures i know.

And in long games, their economic power could easily be the biggest.

Well i didnt download it, I designed it, on map designer its after you click on single player, and like second to last option im sure youve seen it, you can actually be pretty sophisticated on what you want, and I put like 10 or so stars and what color and like 15 planet groups and put what kind of planets i wanted. its pretty fun but like i said before my comp lagged quite a bit.
