An amazing scene that I remember when I saw this movie at the time it was released, forty years ago. It really gives you a glimpse how the Nazis succeeded in capturing the hearts and minds of the German people. Those of us who don't understand how a man like Hitler could take over an entire country fail to understand the importance of symbols, national pride, and appealing to those in society who feel they have been left behind.

Not sure which is creepier: This version where it starts by being sung by Nazis and then sweeps over the people, or in the musical where the regular ensemble sings it and then at the end the Nazis shove them out of the way and sing the last lines. The musical's version helps add to the shock value of it (It makes very good use of being shocking, such as in "If You Could See Her" and the finale), but the way it was done here was also just downright creepy, because it kind of happened that way.

A most chilling scene -- it's stirring and you feel evil being stirred. The spookiest part is when it cuts to the emcee during the coda. It wouldn't say (as someone did below) that the emcee is an allegory for Hitler, but rather for the darkest aspects of Weimer degeneracy which mutated into Nazism, it's antithesis.

Not sure which is creepier: This version where it starts by being sung by Nazis and then sweeps over the people, or in the musical where the regular ensemble sings it and then at the end the Nazis shove them out of the way and sing the last lines. The musical's version helps add to the shock value of it (It makes very good use of being shocking, such as in "If You Could See Her" and the finale), but the way it was done here was also just downright creepy, because it kind of happened that way.
