  • scouters :)

  • The jokes about crysis and blender are so funny and original!

  • How much Terabytes/Petabytes can it hold?

  • the question?does it spy on us????????????????

  • and we wonder why there's global warming....

  • Wake up Neo... The Matrix has you...

  • "April Fools" April 1 2009

  • RUNNING ON LINUS !!

  • This is just a bod copy of the YouTube video "Google container data center tour". Search for that one and enjoy good quality.

  • One day people will be making jokes about how big this is :P

  • but can it run notepad????

  • i thought Google uses Server farms

  • Google Translator works like a dud... Lol

  • skynet

  • @wakeupitshere

    Worse. Big Brother.

  • @SomeCuntsUsingMyName Unfortunately yes!

  • the servers are nothing special, average computers in a custom configuration, and lots of them.

You can do the same thing on a smaller scale, get a dozen or more computers and configure them all to act as a server farm.

Older computers are cheap now, so a dozen or so desktops and a supporting rack is very doable.

In the end you have one very capable machine, fully scalable on the fly.

  • It would be amazingly funny if they were ALL raid 0'd together and ONE of them fails XD

  • scooter, wtf?

  • SSCCCRRRRRRTTTTT and the next thing you know the scooter is stuck in a sector...

  • this video is a security risk

  • whats the framerate on minesweeper?

  • @Atratix it's rumored that it will run Solitaire and Patience on 60fps.. i don't believe it though

  • i would like to play crisis on this thing

  • am not thinking that it could run M$ Vista

  • The question is WILL IT BLEND :D!

  • @DutchServant Haha good luck with that :)

  • @DutchServant No it's "Can you microwave this?"

  • alaaaaaaaaaah kaboooooom

  • damn id like to work there

  • Google has the largest servers made by anyone googles bigger than facebook.. as a matter of fact facebook uses googles servers to search for people

  • AMAZING...Yeah not Trillions..but I can assure you there is at least a couple of million bucks invested in that equipment....that's just the tip of the iceberg cost wise.

  • i understand it is made of poop ?

  • If you work there... I bet your balls shrink by the second...with all that electronics and radiation that comes from it.

  • very impressive.. very...

  • @dutchsinse I always wondered why Google is soooo much faster than any other search engine or website... Bet yahoo dont have a bunker like that one lol...

  • @series1riv

Tiene muchos servidores por la gran cantidad de usuarios que tiene.

Es rápido google por que su software está optimizado.

  • Datacenters ought to be located in cold places, so that at least part of the year the systems can heat the buildings.

  • mam ich w dupie ;]

  • the only advantage is portability, and unless you plan on slinging these things to a helicopter and relocating them under fire, it is a very poor design.

  • You ride scooters at google? I want to work there

  • the guy even needs to wear ear protection

  • Google is gonna create the first true A.I. that will take over the world with robots called Terminators.

  • Seeing a single Google data center live would be a dream come true.

  • @SkyHiRider Well come on over and we'll show them to you !! I am vice-president of Google and I hereby authorize you full access ! Welcome !

  • zRwPSFpLX8I

    Maybe the actual video.

  • @zootboy136 (It's the youtube v=blah link. Get it?)

  • I just pit in a bid to buy google.

  • There is an actual video of this somwhere (not just a guy talking about it while it plays).

  • damn Google you scary.

  • can it run crisis

  • @MegaFUZZYDICE i doubt the servers have a decent gpu sooo..

  • @MegaFUZZYDICE crysis broooo

  • @MegaFUZZYDICE No as there isnt any GPU architecture and has long latency times so it wont takle it lol

  • @MegaFUZZYDICE no... no graphics card i think. or no real good ones.

  • @MegaFUZZYDICE probably not, and i really mean it

  • @MegaFUZZYDICE no, it doesnt have a standard GPU, and so it probably could run it completely CPU-side, but who cares? crysis is pretty runable nowadays

  • @MegaFUZZYDICE

NO IT WONT. NO JOKE ! most servers are there for to alculate a lot, not to run games or do sth with graphics. most server boards got an onboard grapic with 4mb. its hard to play pacman at 1920 1080

  • @UnkownName321123 But you can use the CPUs to render the video (it normaly needs a little modification in games) and send it over RDP or better over X11 Forwarding and you have your favourite game, running on a cluster with a terrible latency... over Ethernet => Useless

  • @9DJBoris thats true :p. but i would prefer to buy 2 mars 2 cards you can play crysis 2 on highest 1080p with 100 fps + and its much cheeper than this data center. but just for gaming :p

  • @MegaFUZZYDICE no beacause it have no gpu power.

  • @MegaFUZZYDICE no it need a videocard lol

  • check video zRwPSFpLX8I

  • Panduit's headquarters was built with the help of millions of state of Illinois tax dollars in the form of a tax credit with the promise of hiring and retaining a certain number of employees. The contract with the state of Illinois was a clause that Panduit complies with all equal employment laws and the ADA. Sadly, that is not the case. Despite making record profits, Panduit proceded to lay-off long-term older employees and those who had health issues -- and move production out of the US.

  • but @ all.. it works...

  • I bet even this cant play Crysis on ultra high.

  • @TheMatrixAussie

    the joke is getting old,noob

  • @hateWinVista agreed, crysis was a crappy game anyways. plus I'm pretty sure crysis doesn't support 1,000+SMP

  • @hateWinVista aka script kiddie

huh? you barely can play pacman (flash version) in your netbook...

    stupid fuck.

  • @CmdShepard

    netbooks r l33t bitch

  • I didn't see any fiber?

  • you know your a geek when yu get a raging boner when you see the sever room :)

  • there are your records of wat you browsed with your ip address!! they know you watch hardcore PPORN

  • @143memai ...what...just mine..?

  • @HOMEnHIGH : Everybody haha

  • compared to this, our DC is like a 5 star hotel...

  • So that is how they do it!

  • I counted a lotta loose patch cable ends...

  • @UnowMe00 lol

  • put all those containers on a cargo ship and port it around the south pole.

Better cooling efficiency and how much power will you save!

Even better sink the ship - ;-)

  • @patrykr1 sure, then you'll have a chance to balance all the savings made with the costs of running fibre to the mainland ;)

  • so much radiation, ppl working there should beware to get sick.

  • Imagine if there weren't google....

  • The data is stored in sectors represented by letters ( sector A , sector B, C, WD, VCD, etc.)

I heard theres allways an overload in sector XXX.

  • 3:21 emo :O

  • OMG! water cooling system! :D

  • the ultimate memory of the world :) Google !!!

  • what should i do to work on google???

  • and all of this just came with the pagerank formula... it could well be the most worthy formula of all times... mathematic formula i mean, Coca-Cola secret formula is the top money making one i guess

  • Comment removed

  • This is not googles design they use for core systems like search and such. They have a VERY tight seal on info about how there data-centers work. These containers are an idea google uses to make "portable" data-centers. Several other companies also do this, including HP and IBM

  • very strange servers there are no power supply redundant, PATA/SATA disks techno. Servers are not racked correctly, no teaming/trunking ethernet card. It's a big fake, I never seen a datacenter like that or may be in russia

  • 0:5

    1 April 2009

  • Check out his name: Jimmy CLIDARAS.

    Poor bloke.

  • huhufühl mich irgendwie allein..:( will einer mit mir schreiben hab auch bilder und so

  • fancy

  • totaly insane!

  • sim f=eu fui no google inc esses dais msm é muito legal la

    fiz sexo ate umas horas!

  • WHAT?! SORRY?! I cant hear you... :-(

  • I wonder how mant Terabytes all of that is

  • @saiyansnake Its probably petabytes or even exobytes...

  • @dodgydogman Trilobytes?

  • Google lives in stone age...lol

  • @007gforce because they care about environment maybe.

    What losers.

  • Wow. And googles free.

  • @Mcphlee Gggole isn't free. Millions of people pay every day for their servives. THey just spy on you and sell your personal data to others for a fee.

  • Where are all the solar panels?

  • I don't really believe what I'm seeing. It's not elegant, it's not minimalist, it's not googly. They only deployed one container of this crap for film.

If you're deploying 100k identical servers per quarter it would make more sense to put a $2 per unit 48V-12/5V buck converter on the board, and make the rectifier redundant at the rack or container level. It's more compact, it's more reliable and it's lower cost to deploy several big power supplies instead of hundreds of smaller ones.

  • wow google leaders know it :) THATs WHAT I CALL A DREAM Palace of servers

  • Somebody can ans to me this question? Why Google never offered hosting service? They are so good making web, and they servers are awesome.

  • They already make a shit load of money from there current services, and to start web hosting would mean spending tens of millions and not seeing a return for a very long time.

The web hosting service sector is already flooded with providers.

  • @HackerAC88 Because web hosting is essentially dead space. Google wants to use all their servers for cloud computing and other services.

  • I doubt it costs trillions, lol.

  • Maybe dude, how did they get this money to built something like that?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! because I'm so amazed!!!!! about this data center.

  • Well, back in 98 they asked for investors, funding, etc. That's how they do it. The first google server cost them about 4 thousand dollars. People saw potential and invested in it and that's how they got the money to do this.

  • thanks alot 4 this answer,I hope that google still standing 4 what they do to entertainment the whoooooooooooooooooooole world.thanks again.:))))

  • they started with few old server and when people click on the promoted links (almost all of Google search results) they make money as advertising

  • Google clearly seperates advertising with "organic" search results. Always will, always have.

  • biliions, stupid american calling trillions the billions

  • @RitvarLegend americans win at life

  • @DigitalDailyStore - clown

  • @D1rkpitt you're creative stfu

  • @Sticky1254 it does cost trillions

  • @Sticky1254 yes it does

  • the level of sickness involved in this video is outter-world, i mean... WTF !! thats just sooo cool !!

My computing class in college just had a trip to the supercomputers, CRC processors and servers that run the DLR in London, (basically trains run by computers, no cockpits and no staff :D)

and the server room was just big enough to fit 6 people.. i was like omfg... i've got to have a look at some proper servers and i ended up here.

    this filled me up !!!

    THANX FOR THE VID !

  • now c'mon !!

tell me an organisation that provides a scooter to ride on man !!!

    xD

    Insane X (10^99)

  • that is insane!

  • upale chiki bastante mas o menos hehe

  • we can barely hear the speaking. It is too quiet.

  • i imagined it as a stadium size building with massive servers all the way to the top.......

  • must be pretty expensive to keep that running :)

  • супер! у нас наверно такое не скоро начнут строить... у яндекса на такое и денег то наверно нет )

  • that is soo cool!

  • esta super weno el aporte a youtube ^^!ª

  • owan wants to go there

  • A pc with a door.. looks like those pc's from 1975 :D

  • but only like 10000 times as powerful ^^

  • only p0rn inside

  • i was thinking the same thing like one of the employes keeps all of his/her porn on their servers... so every time someone googles porn we find the dudes stash ! LOL

  • before or after u tell her u work at google

  • now ....i m feeling lucky

  • All that technology and they can't get the VOLUME right...

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA.

  • @N0SACREDC0WS

it was a fucking presentation. They probably didn't even know the guy was filming.

  • @N0SACREDC0WS Yeah, the microphones not sensitive enough. THOSE STUPID FUCKS!

  • @N0SACREDC0WS Datacentervideos are videos released by an independent journalist, not by google.

  • @Dieterbe

I was unaware of that. BTW, my original message was a bit tongue and cheek and I had no idea that it would attract so many thumbs up! I am guessing that many were as stupefied as I and connected the two entities as one.

    Thank you.

  • @N0SACREDC0WS Google didn't make the video genius.

  • what about Wikipedia data center?

  • прикольно. как у меня дома)))

  • The tech at 1:02 needs a segway... :)

  • Give us the fuckin link instead...

  • lol

  • jesus thats alot of stuff..

  • My dad was going to work at a data center for Google in Georgia, but we didn't want to move =P Pretty cool stuff though.

  • no april fools was posted on the second

  • april fools...

  • seeing this is reminds me of Charlie and the Cholocate Factory....

  • dont we deserve sound
