  • Don't think. FEEEEEEEEL!!!!!

  • Tajiri's face at 7:23...epic!

  • 7:27: why the referee blow the yellow mist?

  • Muta freaks me out man. Why does he act like that? Act like normal wrestlers sometimes.

  • Now this is WRESTLING!

  • i always found bald headed muta a lot more scary :o

  • @TheClodfather I know, right? Seems like the more bizarre the mask he wears is, the crazier he acts in the match. lol

  • Congrats on denouncing ad money!

This was reason enough for me to press the "Like" button...

    Respect

  • @42paparia42 :D

Yeah those ads piss me off. I figure this is my only video the least I could do was keep it ad-free.

  • I wish Muta would kick the Boogie Mans ass...

  • Like I said Lemon, this was a re-post of a video that had been taken down off someone else's account. All I did was preserve it. Sorry you're so hostile to the original poster.

  • 9 some mins for this shit you a dam mess for making this shit you know that right

  • what the fuck was this you kept show the great muta

  • @LemonCakePrincess What the hell are you even talking about? English! Use your words! If you don't want to watch Tajiri vs Muta, then perhaps you shouldn't click on videos entitled The Great Muta vs Tajiri pt. 1

  • good match

  • at 0.25 looks like john goodman is with him lol

  • I'm fucking scared of him.

  • looks like Muta muscled up some ,and adopted the mask to keep his in-ring look fresh. He pre-match wardrobes are still the standard in professional wrestling. No one in the world has attire like Muta. I still like the old Muta better tho with the face paint and the shaggy school boy hair. Be that as it may you have 2 all time classic legends from Japan duking it out right here...awesome!

  • No one beats Muta's attires. That's it.

  • xD tajiri looks like my uncle lol

  • The Great Muta's gimmick is one of the best ever, if he was around WWE in the attitude era or maybe through 2005 he woulda been a great champion.

  • dear god man thank yiu so much for the post cause i am a total muta mark

  • I love all the outfits that muta has come to the ring in over the years

  • Man this is crazy. The Great Muta looks like something straight out of a Manga, Anime, or Mortal Kombat. I've heard that the Great Muta is a legend but since I'm American I'm more familiar with Tajiri. Questions: I've seen here in America at ROH they throw streamers so what does that mean? And that little exchange where they're spitting the mist out what was that all about?

  • @SereneAndTranquil The mist is to act like a dragons and snakes. Since chinese dragons spray poison mist. It was incorporated into japanese wrestling for years.

  • muta got old man

  • WHAT! they did a bruce lee reference..lol

    nice.

  • ok is it me or could anyone thing muta would do good if used right in the wwe he might bring some thing good to the table i mean that entrence out fit is wicked bad ass

  • @silverbeast75 The only thing that worries me is that his style doesn't fit WWE's mold. Muta likes to "cheat", which might make him into a heel, moreso since Z0Mg, HES NOT UHMERICAN! wE must boo him!

And then there's his no-selling. I worry alot of peole would think he was insulting their style or something. At best, he might get Tajri's level of "success" in WWE. At worst, he could hit a new denitition of low.

  • @Phoenix7786 Muta has worked American Style for years in WCW, so im sure he'd have no problem "adapting". AJPW is his promotion and he has borrowed a few American ideas in his promotion. His status is LEGENDARY and has the respect of agents like AA, Malenko, Johnny ACE, JR and many others. Realistically, Muto can barely walk right now, so U.S. run is highly unlikely.

  • @Phoenix7786 i agree but Kwang ruined it for everyone :)

  • @Phoenix7786 No selling? He does sell. He just doesn't over sell.

  • @Phoenix7786 Vince wouldn't EVER let Muta wrestle like he does. He'd have to water-down his style.

  • @CadillacL Not in a million years. I even said something to that effect.

  • @silverbeast75

To me, they've NEVER used him to his full potential here in the states. He's always been either a "hired gun", moving from area to area (or region to region) as a pop for someone they wanted to get over (like abdullah the butcher), or as a joke (gimmick) to try & increase ratings.

  • man ive always wondered if this ever happened and now i get to see it. thanks man you are awesome

  • @kingmanmillenia Haha awesome! Thanks for the compliment :D

  • @thepeterlong

It is. Unlike American mainstream wrestling like WWE or TNA temporary talent exchanges or "visits" aren't uncommon.

It spikes interest, it exposes the guest's promotion, and it has the potential to give fans dream matches.

  • @Phoenix7786 TNA "Visted" New Japan in 09. And before that, I think. They also "visited" AAA. And mixed talent. With Angle and they can afford to do it.

  • @princesstamika Yes they did and I'm glad TNA at least tries something different. Still, I wish they'd do it more often.

  • @Phoenix7786 I'm not sure if they can even afford it. There's so much going on internally and TNA isn't even close to stable, yet.

  • how do they do the mist out of the mouth

do they chew something or what

I want to know how to do it

  • Typically, they get something like a small bag, or balloon, or maybe a very large capsule full of the liquid.

At some discreet point, (and obvious ones like going under the ring) they grab whatever they use and out it in their mouth.

If you notice, at some point they stop breathing through their mouth or growl out with a closed mouth (and I even think Muta almost always does that sort of growl anyways). They usually mix a little spit in to add extra volume. Then voila!

  • @Phoenix7786 sometimes the referee hands them the capsule while theyre down

  • @1298ty Oh yeah forgot about that one.

  • @Phoenix7786 yeah i noticed that when ever u here him start to make that noise tajri does it to its like ..hrrmmm..hrrmmmm HRRRMMM!!! haccck ptoooeyy!!! :P lmao

  • area's very smokey after the pyro!

  • I think that TAJIRI used that Theme even before WWE and WWE just used it the same like for example Goldberg´s Theme! because the Copyrights for Theme´s, Gimmick´s and Name´s are not always with the Promotion sometimes the Wrestlers own their Names and Themes themselves! Thats also the reason why WWE changes Wrestler´s Names and Gimmicks completely because the Wrestler didnt wanted to sell the Copyrights

  • Is it just me, or does The Great Muta have arguably the best entrance in wrestling? I think so. Undertaker is a close second.

  • thats ultimo dragons wwe theme playing for tajiri

  • How the hell was Tajiri able to retain use of his WWE theme?

  • I was thinking that too, usually they change the theme for use in a wrestling prmotion or something, like Foley's TNA theme and WWe theme.

  • Copyright laws dont always extend internationally. And frankly, no one in WWE probably even saw this.

  • I was wondering the same thing

  • The facepainted guy at 0:26 behind Muta is that Akebono with Facepaint???

  • looks like it

  • yes i think so

  • 1:44 was that a Rey Mysterio trick?

  • I didn't know Muta was that big. Is he a different guy than who I saw on WCW / NWA?

  • Yep same Muta. He started to go bald so he shaved his head (hence the mask). His knees started to mess up on him so I think that is why he changed his mass.

  • I wonder if Tajiri could've been WWE Champion?

  • If they were more on talent yeah but WWE is for kids

  • and i wonder that Tajiri beat kane...

  • Say what?

  • @Bluethunder25

As far as talent goes Tajiri has more than enough in ring ability and charisma to pull off being a successful WWE champion. But even as a huge Tajiri fan the language barrier and size would prevent him from reaching that level in WWE . It really is too bad because he is fucking incredible!

  • Agreed. Tajiri is a beast.

  • GREAT MUTA IS A BEAST!! he is awesome love his masks too

  • hey does anyone know how they do the mist. i used to think they used a weird capsule thing but now im not sure

  • Through a combination devilry and glandular training they are able to spit mist much like a spitting cobra or the fabled ability of the Dilophosaurus. The colour is determined by the foods which they have digested in the past 72 hours.

  • way to keep kayfaybe

  • lol I hope you're joking. It's actually from a capsule inside a wad of gum. Most of it is saliva. In fact, there's only a small amount of liquid because if you fill your mouth with it, it won't come out as mist.

  • hell i dont blame him for being scared. even im scared of that crazy little barsted.(sorry about any spelling mistakes

  • I really like the newer masks Muta has been using since his hair lose. They are more detailed and just look more intimidating then the older ones. Keeping up with the times and what not.

  • Mutas robes are right up there with Flairs as far as the glits goes. real kick ass.

  • u can tell muta is scared of tajiri.

  • no way!

  • Right at 8:12 Muta shows he can still move with some pretty good agility, but soon after when he has the upper hand, it looks like Tajiri is trying to resist pulling at Muta's Mask. Is he trying not to be underhanded, or just trying to be confusing?

  • ya know muta was tajiri's hero, right. he's where he got tajiri mist from.

  • i believe tajiri used to train under muta if i'm not mistaken, though he got his REAL start in mexico

  • Actually, The Great Muta adopted the Poison Mist from the Great Kabuki, and Tajiri (I Believe) uses it because of his respect towards both men.

  • @Rjp341 Thats why I use it

  • @Rjp341 muta was tajiri's favorite wrestler growing up he's said.

  • when did muta start wearing these crazy masks??

  • Ever since he started to lose his hair.

  • Actually He Shaved It Off

  • Hey Phoenix, any idea if there's relevance to the Great Muta hanging by the barricade at the beginning of the match by that woman in pink?

  • I don't think so; this was probably Muta being Muta here.

  • Oh ok. I've only seen a couple of his matches, and I haven't really seen this happen before. Thanks!

  • It's all good; we all start out unfamiliar with someone sometime don't we?

  • In his Great Muta Personna, Mutoh is meant to be a monster much like Kane or Tiger Singh - they're all unpredictable. He just happens to scare most people when he is at ringside.

  • If memory serves, I believe the original uploader noted that this took place during Hiroshi Hase's retirement card.

  • DAT ENTRANCE!

  • Los entradas de Great Muta estaba siempre excelente.

HAH! And Profe said I'd never use my Spanish outside of class!

  • is that match up anywhere where Muta has those awesome devil horns?

  • what is the mist? i've seen him do it back in 91 or 92 when he had a short stint in WCWNWA. my favorite live moment ever and ive been to about 15 live events. anyone know

  • The mist is basically something he spits that either distracts or blinds his opponent.

There is (or used to be I'm not sure it's followed anymore) a color coding system.

    Green=Sting

    Red=Burn

    Black=Blind

    Blue=sleep

    Yellow=paralyze

  • yeah but what is it, the content? kool aid, powder?

if you dont know its cool, the system thing is pretty cool you seem to have good wrestling knowledge. whos your fav and your fav match, finisher?

  • The mist is something like Kool aid or water mixed with food coloring.

There's alot of people who know a helluva lot more than me wrestling-wise. I just happen to have seen most of the Muta matches youtube offers.

  • Like blood packs in the movies, the food dye is placed in a small plastic bag which the wrestler secretly places in the mouth during the bout. At the spot moment in the match they bite into the bag and mix it with saliva to add to the volume. You can usually tell when they will use it as they stop breathing through the mouth. Best example of slight of hand was a match of MUTajiri vs Gold dust & Hakushi - 5 mists performed in 45 seconds and you never saw them even re-stock on the dye bags!

  • they also hide it in their mask or kneepads or under the ring

  • hey where did u see that match? is it on youtube? i cant find it

  • awesome match

  • The Great Muta got fat and lost all his hair between this and the Hogan match in '93. Or even when he was in WCW in '96, '97.

  • Japan has put more focus on skill than physique. Keiji Mutoh could still outwrestle many of his peers and people of comparative age.

Besides, many years have passed since his match with Hogan.

  • Who's the girl that the Great Muta was looking at in the audience?

  • Is that the original Great Muta??

  • of course.. he is keiji mutoh..

  • yes the one and only

  • Technically not the only one, There was a Great Mutah basically Johnny "the Bull" Hugger in a mask. But agreed that there is no one who has had such staying power in wrestling.

  • yeah I know their are like 1000 muta Gimmicks

  • Why do japanese guys like to cosplay?

  • Keiji Mutoh's Muta persona has always had elaborate costumes. It adds to his mystique.

I also have to say that this series of mask has always been my favorite version.

  • Muta is the best wrestler ever!

  • O you fucked up my flowers bitch now thats yo ass! ? Is the mist illegal in japan?

  • No, the mist is legal. To the best of my knowledge, it isn't even considered a "dirty" move.

It's often this apsect that all-too often marks any users as "heel" to american audiences.

  • Yea thats to bad America Should legalize it its kinda cool

  • Yeah it's very cool and a good momentum transitioner. Misting also has a good leg up over the irish-whip reversal: it's unexpected.

The whip reversals can sometimes be predicted or made obvious, but the mist can come out of nowhere.

  • I know it would be a good change of pace for some American Corps i.e. TNA WWE so yea I fucking love Japanese and Indie wrestling it way more entertaining and unexpected as a whole and plus they have way better talent! ROH, Dragon Gate Pro, and CZW my favorite wrestling organizations

  • Mutas main finsher is the shinning wiazrd

  • Damn, Tajiri fucked over Muta's flowers.

    Now it's on.

  • Yea thats what I was thinking!

  • all wrestler masked on the starts

  • mist vs. mist

  • I have never seen a bad Muta match in Japan, he is fuckin awesome

  • Couldn't agree with you more.

  • They are damn good at those sleights of hand with the mist.

  • thank you for downloading this i never this two would ever face each other

  • No problem. When I got Tekken DR, I started to get into Armour King. After reading about some of his moves being modeled after Great Muta, I Youtube'd his name and, having known Tajiri a little in ECW and WWE, decided to bite on this match.

Thanks to it, I got into Puro. Later, I coouldn't find this video anymore, so I decided to re-upload it.

  • Muta and Tajiri are amazing, this is one of my favourite matches

  • I watch this just for Muta's entrance gear fascinating !!!!! Very unique that what a wrestler is all about being unique!!!!

  • Any1 here knows how to actually make asian mist?:D

  • I make the stuff but, its not the same blend. I use a mid concentration of food colouring and water for my wrestler. I guess I can say I dont know how to make that blend but, it gives the same effect.

  • Go to the grocery store.....buy green food coloring.....get a ballon fill it with water (to store it in) and food coloring....and...boom! .Then add any chemical agent blow mist....then call lawyer.

  • I love how the Japanese use the English language, "Don't think; Feel" lol

  • isnt Tajiri's idol Great Muta thats why he uses his green mist in matches.

  • You might be thinking of The Great Kabuki, who also used the mist.

  • When Great Muta started out, he was originally billed as the son of the Great Kabuki. I don't know much more about that, other than they feuded and tagged for awhile.

Tajiri is indeed a fan of Great Muta, hence the mist he uses.

It's gotta be kinda eerie for Muta, though. Muta and Kabuki feuded then tagged for a bit. Muta and Tajiri had their little feud, now they tag together.

  • any one know the name of the song in the back ground of the tajiri clips

  • Could anyone tell me what Tajiri was doing with the flowers?

  • showing respect

  • Is that Dr Wagner Jr at the beginning?

  • Tajiri was NEVER used the way he deserved. Vince is SO into "Sports Entertainment" so

that anyone who has any real wrestling talent is down-played.

  • It's not so much Vince McMahon as much as it is the people watching. Sure, you and some people would enjoy watching Tajiri or the Great Muta or something in WWE, but the main WWE audience would be all like "USA! USA! USA" That's also why John Cena is their biggest draw even though he's got nothing on Muta or Tajiri. Main American audience would rather Cena than Muta. Sucks ass, but that's just the way it works. But it's not all Vince's fault.

  • i wanna see muta in the wwe

  • Ehh, look at what they did to Tajiri. It would probably be the same.

Muta's tactics of crawling under the ring, using weapons, and misting opponents would get him counted out/disqualified a lot of the times anyways.

  • seems perfect for ecw, which by the way tajiri did awesome in.

I would like to see muta own the boogeyman haha. Muta vs taker would be insane too.

  • Yeah I had considered an ECW run, but ECW now is just a WWE puppet.

Undertaker DID wrestle against Jinsei Shinzaki, who we know as "Hakushi". The match is on youtube. Just be aware that Jinsei appeared to be having a reborn gimmick, so he's a little slow to get started.

  • what about Great Muta in TNA.

  • they'd just ruin his legendary status. Heck did you ever see the promo he had, it was pitiful they just straight out insulted his legacy in his only appearance on TNA, like how to treat one of the greatest legends.

  • yeah i used to think tajiri sucked but now i think he was just under used i in wwe.

  • Very.

  • Muta Rules! Funny thing is...so does Tajiri!

  • Muta vs. Rellik!

  • relliK did have an angle where he copied Great Muta, right down to the mist and the Shining Wizard. relliK liked the gimmick so much he kept it when he came back.

  • Does anyone know how to do the mist?

  • Yea Mix Water And Kool-Aid Powdermix In A Small Balloon In Your Mouth

    Or Food Coloring

  • Cool, he got to keep his last WWE theme

  • Great Muta has become awesome-looking. See this is the way you evolve, not like Sting staying in his crappy 1996 Crow look.

  • that lady was totally scared of muta hahaha

  • Someone really needs to get Great Muta's most recent entrance music version of MUTA Musou like I mean the version of it he uses now with the chanting. I swear I wish I could get it.

  • Asian Mist (basically water and food colour in a small balloon or satchel) is also often stored in their tights rather than their throats, where they discreetly put it in their mouths during the match to avoid choking hazards

  • Howd they use Tajiris WWE music?

  • and to think many people waste time watch talentless cunts like john cena

  • well, Cena is growing into a decent superstar in his own way, an insane match with Lashly at the Bash and carrying many matches and encounters with Khali until he went to smackdown...

  • lol Cena is gonna be out for a year or more......fuck Cena, why even bring up his name to the likes of MUTA!!!

  • Because I have balls and you don't. I have enough balls to admit that Cena is a good wrestler while also apreciating the incredible talent and undenyable styles of Great Muta.

  • no your a straight up WWE mark and you eat whatever Vinny mac pushes in fron of your face. dumbass

  • how does tajiri and the great muta do that posion mist? do they hold it in?

  • Sometimes. Some times not. Theres a secret Satchel they hide in there throat and thats why they rub there throat before spraying.

  • not exactly a satchel, but a small balloon or caps. they only rub there throats to make the audience think they have a gland that the mist generates from.

  • who the fuck makes mutas costumes their fuckin crazy

  • If Tajiri was born in 1970 and he's 35 in the video then its in 2005

just a fyi if anyone's wondering exact year

  • It was in August of 2006. The 6th, I think.

  • Don't Think. Feel.

  • Who can get me these new Muta matchs on dvd? Please leave me a message we may be able to trade some vids and all

  • I was pissed off Tajiri didn't get a good send off from the WWE

  • He did great in ECW though in 2000 1999.

  • geez, I didn't know tajiri was that old

  • Tajiri is a very big fan of Muta, and emulates him with a lot of his moves. I'm sure he considered this an honor to do.
