  • :)

Wise decision, wizard. I think the Virus fits better to your music. The patches are much more bread and butter, very musical in fact.

Oustanding music and musician whatever you play.

    Cheers, Michael

  • That´s how the Waldorf Micro Q sounds only if you are a keyboard wizard but not a programmer wizard. This little beast needs a bit of tweaking to show it´s sheer magic. Presets by on it´s own use to sound harsh and mostly uninspirational.

  • @Endebellus Which is probably why I sold it. :)

  • Thanks for showing a demo. Great to get a feel of the sound before considering buying! :-)

  • dancing in a demo is not allowed : )

  • I got Waldorf micro Q (phoneix edition) yesterday. What can I say... I'm kind of crazy about it's sound!

  • 2:37 - giedi prime t

sheer ecstasy for another dance-arpeggio ))

  • thnx 4 the demo very good 5stars from hamburg-germany

  • please please please please do a demo with the vocoder

  • @Inzehambay I sold my Micro Q long ago...

  • @keybdwizrd as if you did man

I'm gunning after one've these at the moment seeing as you can get them pretty cheap second hand

  • Got one - this box can kill you, - I have 50 hardware synths old and newer - this is a keeper ( got the 75 note Omega) nice demo geezer show them what they are missing, PS next show them how to to use it:-)

  • Nice detailed and well played demo ... thanks!

  • Heil Waldorf!

  • 2:36 like your "dance"!

  • Why did you have to change through five million sets of clothes? Stuff like that makes it very hard for me to focus on the synth. ; )

  • That was just something silly I did because it can actually get boring making these videos. :)

  • Ah... Well whatever works then. If running through a week's worth of clothing in five minutes is what makes your videos so great then keep it up I suppose. =P

  • i was funny.. the least creative.. cause I can't even say anything harsh about your playability.. :)

  • and man that snow is so nice on top of the motif..

  • It is a Polar...

  • snow is the rack?!

  • The Snow is a little tabletop unit. There are pics of it at the Access website.

  • you are a freak man, lol !!!

  • i would really love one of these... and an access virus

  • hey that first pattern/arp you played is really nice.....

    great sound.

do you have a wav of that?

  • THanks, but sorry, I don't.

  • Hi: I'm looking to supplement my current rig which includes an Access Virus Ti desktop (I see the Access in your vid). What do you think of the Waldorf Blofeld? I'm looking at a Micro Q also. I have an opportunity to buy a Waldorf Rack Attack...can you comment on that box? I've got a whole lot of hardware but I'm always looking for new technology and your opinions mean something to me.

  • Thanks, but I am sorry, but I have never played a Blofeld or Rack Attack.

  • Blofeld sounds more like the big Q...cleaner and nicer but the Micro Q has it's own nice dirty character. Rack Attack is a totaly different beast, it's a Drum synth with a basic synth section that allows you to play chromaticaly.

Blofeld and Micro Q have their pro's and cons..sound wise they both sound nice and have their different qualities. Check some of my vids I got both

  • question: the acces virus polar is a MIDI controller or a synth?

    cool job!

  • It is a synth.

  • pmsl 2:43 - 2:51

  • SO WAS I LOL

  • Those sounds are massive..... ok i'm interested. Does this rack have good basses for RnB? How about lead sounds? Im sure i could use one in my arsenal for film scoring maybe. thanks for the demo

  • How does this stack up against the Mopho?

  • Apples and oranges. The Mopho is an analog monosynth. The Waldorf is a very digital-sounding digital polysynth.

  • as you can see, with the WaldorF Q, you need to change your clothes every time you switch to a another sound patch !!!

  • Lol, you get a cookie.

  • haha i like that ^_^

  • nice video of presets but i wanted to watch this for the sounds, not to check out some guys wardrobe!!!! made me laugh

  • Well then my attempt at humor was successful. :)

  • I figured out why I like the Waldorf so much. It sounds like SID

  • They are the same

  • Lots of nice equipment and good demos... and as mentioned bellow: lots of nice shirts too! Did you get a shirt with each synth you bought? ;-) any way, thanks for posting all those demos! take care

  • Pretty average sounding synth. The Moogs/Virus/Prophet 08/ Motifs etc.more impressive.

  • KBwiz, have you at all looked into the blofeld?

  • I have read about it, but haven't come across one in a store, so I haven't had a chance to play one.

  • Man that's some gear you got here ! I would really like to get a Q and a Wave XT. :)

  • I want a blofeld keyboard!

  • Another great demo; you have a knack for casting an instrument in its best light and showing off its character. The last several months I'd been trying different software synths looking for something that sounded Waldorf-esque. I finally just went ahead and got a Blofeld and MicroQ - I don't think anything sounds quite like a Waldorf but a Waldorf.

  • I'm trying to decide between a Blofeld and a Micro Q, and since you have both, would you mind giving me your user opinion? What do you like better between the two? I'm going for smooth, adjustable pads. As far as drum programs, are they similar?

  • I no longer own the Waldorfs (I'm kind of a u-he Zebra nut these days), but overall the Blofeld was more flexible with the Microwave/PPG wavetables on board. Two strikes against the Blofeld, though - I don't think there's a complete editor/librarian available for it, and it also can't store a bank of Multi patches like previous Waldorfs (you get one multi-channel configuration and that's it). The latter I found a rather bizarre and disappointing omission.

  • Great stuff! Is the microQ worth it's price?

  • GRANDISSIMOOOOO.......

  • nice riff @ 2:10. how many shirts went into the making of this video? ; -) cheers,

  • haha love your comment about the shirt. this guy gets animated and that is awesome in my book

  • Hey, i'm looking for a synth or workstation, mid to low price range but with an awesome sound. any ideas?!

  • well that swinging into the walldorf thing, got one too beside other stuff and indeed..

very wel quality sounding modul.only I would say put in front of your head..to be more close to the knobs...in that way

the performance of Guidi P is very funny too..so well done that's also part of the playing..greetings..marc

  • The "Eyes Wide Open jh" patch at 3:15 is SWEET!

  • Chaval eres el p. amo

  • man you are a legend on youtube now!!!!

thanks for all that great vids that you post..

  • why dont you make the same mp3 demo to

hear on good speakers the quality of the micro

    THk u man nice demos

  • I like the fact that you keep changing outfits, it really adds some flavor to the vids haha.

  • Thanks, I was getting a bit bored with the same old same old....

  • How do you change the voices of the mirco q with your computer? Isn't the Motif connected to the micro q via MIDI?

  • You can indeed change patches on a synth using sequencing programs like Digital Performer or Sonar, but I am not doing that here. The Motif and Micro Q are connected via MIDI, but through my computer. In the video I am going to the computer to start/stop video recording.

  • You wrote that the Motif and the Micro Q are connected with your computer via midi. Do you use a Midi to USB-interface?

I am generally interessted how you switched your synthies and your computer together.

  • wow totally amazing stuff that you have there.

I wanna setup my studio like that =D

  • God you have so much cool shit!

  • wardisward, european synths are cool, but i love the japanese ones the most (korg, roland, yamaha). virus, waldorf, nord come next.

  • Im getting a micro q soon, this is gonna be great

  • Way cool. Waldorf rocks!

    (Fellow Q owner)

  • Thanks for posting this. I love my Waldof Qs and XTs. Now, I await the little Blofeld, to live in my backpack.

    Oh, great chair dancing!

  • I'm getting a Q!

  • waldorf rules ( at leat they had ) ...the microwave xt is the bomb long live wavetable syn, thesis ..long live european synthesizers ...just kidding ...I love you americans .........................;( except the capitalist republikan redneck swines ..just kidding ...Damn I'm drunk

  • You are just great and so modern !

Wich i had a father like you !

  • :-) Thanks.

  • looks like your using some sort of patch editor? if so which one? thanks for posting this vid :)

  • No, if there's a Waldorf patch editor for the Mac / OSX, I am unaware of it.

  • there is a java based editor, i cant paste the link here but if you're interested pm me.

  • i'd like it please

  • have you tried Komplexer against the micro Q ?

    @soguy

I was about to ask if the microq requires you to change clothes in order to accept a midi program change.

  • Hmm... I am not familiar with the Komplexer.

Just trying to bring some entertainment value to these otherwise rather visually boring synth videos. :)

  • Verry Verry Interresting!!!

  • Thanks for that Mr Keyboard Wizard! =)

    Just ordered my micro Q!

  • You managed to change shirts per patch ;-)

or is it a new technology? :-)

  • just dance the night away!!
