  • occasionally police can give permission that property owners won't. very hard to find this.

  • DUDE its not an 'Epic' Fail... its just a Plain Fail. If it was epic it would be an awesome or funny fail but its not :/

  • @ValleyVikings2010 so did malls ban photography even before 9/11 or did it start after 9/11?

  • @ValleyVikings2010 could the Allied-Barton security at GGP malls be just as strict as the ones at Simon malls? I wonder what mall owners don't have rules against photography.

  • @ValleyVikings2010 so basically, malls don't allow photography or videotaping regardless of what company owns them?

Initially I thought only Simon malls don't allow photography.

  • all malls are like that just do it when no one is looking, and no security is around.

  • @patricknedz I thought only Simon malls are like that.

  • @cubsrule2040 Cottonwood IS a Simon mall

  • Where you were standing, was that on mall property? If it wasn't, you should had security follow you outside to the point that you weren't on the property and go,"Ooooh...I'm taking pictures of YOUR mall." They would probably chase you, but i wouldn't be in trouble because you weren't on mall property. They say you can't film ON their property!

  • @elevatorsonly I'm wondering if General Growth Properties is just as bad as Simon if not worse. We have a GGP mall in Albuquerque and that's Coronado Center; I had no problems there. Do you have GGP malls in your area and if so are they like Simon?

  • Ignore the sign! Just ignore it. I ignore the signs at my local one.

  • sorry to hear you had trouble! ask pinepowerli ! he also has had the same problems with SHITMON malls. he even has a video where he was in an elevator filming and security guards actually escort him out of the mall

  • Can't you just try to ask the management at the property for authorization to film the elevators, saying that you like to film elevators as a hobby? Why don't you go back there and ask the mall manager for permission.

  • I just film anyway. As George said, if they tell you to stop, just stop (at least until they are well out of sight :P). Please note that department stores are under a separate jurisdiction, so the mall owner has no authority in there.

  • I thought the mall owner had authority in the department stores as well as the main section of the mall itself

  • Nope, anchors own their own property

  • while the mall owner owns the main sections of the mall

  • I have filmed those!!! OMFG and u vant sneak. They were on my very old account but i closed it. I still have the videos.

  • Wow, I have no one to blame but Simon Properties for this banned photography at this mall.

  • @CaptainElevator42189 let's all hope Simon doesn't acquire General Growth Properties

  • Yes, me too, and I hope that Simon doesn't acquire other property companies too.

  • @CaptainElevator42189 Who's Simon? Ive seen this name a lot.

  • @ELTIGREROCKS10NEW Simon is a mall owner and is the biggest one in the US. They own a lot of the malls in the US such as Cottonwood Mall in Albuquerque.

  • They are also notorious for banning even legal behavior, such as photography.

  • @CaptainElevator42189 Just Simon or both Simon and General Growth Properties?

  • Mainly Simon.

  • I just do it anyhow. If they tell you to stop, you stop. You don't put up a fight, or argue. Exceptions MAY be waranted, if harrassed, or interviewed, but it's always best to cooperate, and be the better person (like DD's cop run-in).

  • well don't worry about SIMON's dumb-**** policies. IDK why you even are taking this seriously. Let the US Gov. press charges against SIMON, which will happen eventually...

  • @dea41396returns Do you think General Growth Properties has a no photography rule for the malls they own, such as Coronado Center in Albuquerque, or are they better than SIMON?

  • every other place but SIMON properties don't have a problem w/ elevator filming, they have no-photo/video policies, but they are for people taking pictures for commercial use

  • @dea41396returns I thought some properties do allow photography/videos

  • every place but SIMON properties will not give you a problem for filming an elevator!
