When we have gym, even though we can't have jewlry on, they let us wear them. And it is about religon. When you leave you get a bible, and if you get the ring there on the FIRST PAGE is a covenet you're suppost to sign. The first seven words are "I signing this covenant before God Almighty.." americans are not scared of having sex. It is simply our religion which states that we are to stay abstinent until we are married. There is no fear, only respect for our own morals if you feal proud of having sex then thats your choice some people feal proud of not giving into that temptation. like me i have this ring and i wear it. That's not how they are known at all. State funded schools are known as state comprehensives. Schools that charge a fee are known as private schools.

These days most people refer to them as either State or Independant Schools, which is less ambigous than Private and Public.
The term comprehensive, refers to the type of education available rather than how it is funded.
Beaware that in some parts of the country the 11+ still exists and as such, Grammar and Secondry Modern schools operate.
