Incorrect. There is only one decent metal band on Victory, and they pay them shit. I really hope the rumours that Btbam might be signing to Metal Blade are true. Finally, a place where they won't be lumped in with generic metal/deathcore bands like Emmure and A Day to Forget (see what I did there).
@davethehostage ADTR has been around for 8 years and they were just on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Trust me, nobody has forgotten about them, especially not you. I mean c'mon, you just mentioned them in your comment.
@StartStopReplay Right, because we all know that mainstream late night talk shows are the infallible broadcasters of original, meaningful music. I'm pretty sure Bieber was on Kimmel just last week. Definitely not an argument in your favour, friend.
And I was implying that ADTR are medio-core (shit, I'm on a roll), and won't be remembered as anything special in the long run. Just another pop punk act with weak growls and angsty teenage lyrics on top.
@StartStopReplay It depends which musical crowd we're talking about. As far as progressive metal goes, Between the Buried and Me will certainly be remembered by prog fans everywhere. Have you heard a single song off of either of their last two releases? High tenacity, high quality, inspiring music that constantly pushes the boundaries of what's expected of a metal band.
The same cannot be said for ADTR, an amalgamation of all of the most boring cliches of everything metalcore has to offer.
@JKwon34 Their first two LPs were definitely metalcore with few progressive influences. Once Dustie and Blake entered BTBAM, then they became progressive metal.
Dark Tranquillity is touring with KSE and TDWP. Decrepit Birth, Suffocation, Ensiferum and Necrophagist toured with faggy bands like After the Burial, Born of Osiris, and Winds of Plague. Skeletonwitch toured with TBDM for fucks sake.
The bands you tour with doesn't mean shit about your own band's music. Fuck off.
They forgot to point out that the booklet is poorly printed, with songs in the wrong order, and that the plastic sleeve barely holds the cardboard case in position. Fail.
Opened the same exact package TODAY!!! Very nice t-shirt, and very good album,... but I still prefer Colors IMO... I can't wait to see BTBAM in Montreal this winter.
Is the platic envelope of your CD also very loose? I can easily put the sampler CD+the original CD/DVD in it, looks not very "deluxe". Strange boxing, but I like the CD so far.
It isn't as good as Colors, but it is a great album, and if I think about it, were it released by any other band I'd say "Holy shit this is awesome".
But because it was BTBAM, I say "It was really good but not the best".
The only thing I don't like are the lack of a big solo at the end of the album, as well as Tommy's synth bits it sounds like they tried to inject at random intervals. Also, the organ solo could've been better.
Dude, a t-shirt now-a-days is 30$, this is absolutely worth the money... it even comes with the album in 5.1?!
Plus, I got the leak a week ago like PatS1t, and I don't know what he's smoking, but this album is absolutely incredible. Tommy's synth is better than ever, and don't get me started on Blake's drumwork. The CD is a hell of alot more progressive, in a good way. The CD isn't a "one song" structure like Colors, but Swim To The Moon is the greatest song they've ever written, period.
well I got this same deal for A Plea for Purging on Depravity with a tee, for like 15 dollars. but then, it wasn't a special edition/dvd set. It actually probably is worth it for such an amazing band though.
If you're a total audio buff like me it's awesome, but really, it's the same songs. It will seperate the layered sounds better making the sound more crisp, full and easier to distinguish. You'll obviously need a 5.1 surround system though (5 speakers, 1 subwoofer)
I've never heard a band anything similar to btbam, so yes, they will be remembered...
